Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are the people who will help the students, no matter their grade, to reach their fullest potential. In class, the teachers spend time putting together lessons to help teach the students, in addition to their homework. The bonds that are created between the teacher and students are very important, as it is they who will teach the characters and the players themselves more about the server and what's in store. As teachers move along the school day, they make sure to keep all the students safe and follow the rules so that they are the best versions of themselves to grow. Teachers have a heavy influence on those who are new to Karakura as they are looked up to; they take this ideal seriously and help them along the way, even after the person grows and understands.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes
What is your motivation for becoming a Teacher?: As a student myself, I know firsthand what it's like to step into a new place and look up to the teachers for guidance. Being a teacher means that you need to create a bond with each student to keep them learning in ways that will make them succeed. Even now, as I am not a teacher, I have been there to help the new people who come on the server with commands, rules, and even how to communicate with each other. A teacher will be able to do that on a much larger scale because they are in front of all the students in Karakura. Beyond students, teachers themselves will bond with each other and will help one another when the time comes, so that they will be able to get the things they need done. Now that I am a recent graduate, I want to put my knowledge that I've gotten within the last few years into small study plans for the students that I teach. From creativity to group assignments and team building, classes can be looked forward to instead of being skipped and brushed off! I want to be able to help the students grow around me and be part of a classroom that lets people express themselves in healthy ways.
In-Character Section
What's your character's full name?: She'd lean forward with her hand outstretched, her smile wide and gleaming, "Lovely to meet you! My name is Roxanne Sinclaire but please, call me Roxy" She would sit back down after, her hands resting on her lap.
What is your character's age?: Her answer was firm as she nodded along, "I am 25 years old, perfectly in the middle of things as I like to see it!".
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Art
Describe your character:
Her skunk-dyed hair would often be straightened down to her waist, standing at 5'6. Her brown eyes seemed soft and expressed her emotions clearly in an almost animated manner. She would have a sense of dignity around her, while her joyful attitude led to pleasant interactions. Her love for communication and collaborative ideas led her to succeed in many academic ways in her past. She would love to be able to talk to the people around her, whether it was to compliment them or engage in a meaningful conversation. With the type of person she was, she made sure to be able to help everyone around her, even if she didn't know them yet. She almost lived by the motto "A stranger is just a friend you haven't made yet!" as she greeted everyone with kindness that was so pure. "Art? Goodness to be able to do art is to show your experience in the world. The creativity that comes to you through these situations flows from your mind to your hands as you create such masterpieces." Her voice was passionate as she spoke about her dream subject. "I want to teach the kids that through art, they will be able to create things they are proud of and that they can channel certain memories to be able to make these pieces you can connect to." She'd playfully braid a bit of her hair as she made sure to keep eye contact. "Art isn't just about how you feel, either; it brings people together. Painting, music, poems, they're all art that bring the people together in masses." She'd smile again while her hands clasped together. "My motivation to be able to be a teacher is to help these kids unlock a part of themselves they might not have known existed. Some people think art isn't for them or is lame until they try it. It's a healthy way to spend your time and can be productive when there is nothing to do!"
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
As Roxanne would walk around the classroom, checking on all the students, she would take note of those who were having more trouble than others. She would then go over to them, asking what they were stuck on and how she could help. "Can you point out what part you're having trouble with? I can always explain what's going on." She'd offer the students a soft smile so they wouldn't be nervous. After trying to have them solve the issue, she would guide them further by pointing out what to do next to move forward. If the student were not to understand the additional instructions, Roxanne would walk back with her kind demeanor, crouching down once more and asking, "Would you like me to do this step for you so you can continue?" If the student said yes, she would do the next step for them while explaining it in great detail, taking breaks to point out what she had done. If the student did not want her help, she would keep the offer up in the air for them as she gave them motivation.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
While this is a class where you are free to talk and express your thoughts, talking and being disruptive during instructions is something that she doesn't tolerate. She would silently make her way to the student's desk, her face serious, "I understand that you may be excited to talk this period and to participate in the activity, but I need you to quiet down during the instructions. This will be your first warning in this class." With that, she'd return to the board with a smile, continuing to talk about the assignment and any details that would come along with it. If the student continued to be disruptive, she would pause the class, walking over to the student while her class went silent. "Had we not expressed the rules to be quiet and respectful in my classroom?" She'd question, suddenly smiling as she placed a detention slip on the student's desk. "How about we re-learn the rules next time, so this won't happen next class." She would take note of the name of the student so that she would watch out for them in future classes, giving them a smile and positive attitude once they learned the rules of her classroom.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
Interactive class ideas #1: Realism using pencils
"Welcome, class! Now, I understand that this activity is correlated with science, but trust me, this was one of my favorite assignments before. Today we will be looking at different bone structures!" With that, different photos of bones would show up on the screen. She'd point towards the screen with a smile, "See how each has its own lighting and structure? We will be taking these photos and drawing them on a piece of paper using normal pencils and a white colored pencil." She'd motion towards her desk, "Now I have slightly greyed paper for you all on my desk, this will be able to help you guys get the lighting and shading better. Don't be afraid to look closer at the screen to get the details, or better yet, search up a photo! I will be walking around to mark the progress you guys are making. I have plenty of pencils and sharpeners for you guys to use, but please make sure to return them by the end of class so that you can continue working on them when you come back."
Interactive class ideas #2:
"Everyone knows that we associate emotions with colors, but how do we? There are plenty of beautiful things in nature that correspond with faulty emotions and colors. Do we have any examples?" She'd smile as she looked around the class, listening to any of the students who called out. Another slide would go across the screen as many beautiful pictures of nature appeared. "See these photos? Not only do the colors and emotions not correspond, but we can see the beauty in something that isn't ideal. I would like for you guys today to take notes on nature and how certain colors in it correspond with each other. After, please make sure to grab a medium of your choice, nothing messy, and begin to create the image that you have in your mind," She'd motion towards her desk and the room. "I am not expecting your art and writing to be done today, but I would like at least the writing to be planned out, and you will show me as I walk around the room. When I check you off, you may feel free to get started on your assignment for today!"
