Describe your activity on the server

While I first joined the server in 2021 I had some sort of bug or glitch that wouldn't allow me to talk, it wasn't till 4 months ago (Jan 2025) that I found the server again and started playing. In that time I've gotten onto the server nearly every day, with a small exception where I got a bit burned out and stopped playing for 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks though I haven't missed a single day and often get an hour minimum a day.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?

Completely understood!

School Employee Role you are applying for?

I'm applying for chef.

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for

The primary role for a chef is to supply the students of the school with food, making sure the food is delicious yes but most importantly nutritious to assist in the learning and exercise of the students. This however is not the only role chef's play at Karakura, one may have to settle down aggressive students, take over other roles duties in off time such as watching a drunk student or managing detention, and of course assist and attend any school events they are able to. The final role of the chef, likely to be done at the end of the day is of course making sure the kitchen is cleaned and sterile to ensure safety

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?

I've been in performing arts classes and drama clubs since 2012, and fairly often help with script writing for local theaters. This admittedly doesn't transfer over to text roleplay skills as well as you'd think, however in that field I've been roleplaying with various people for just about 10 years now, generally through texting apps but I have my fair share of roleplay games and servers I've found and joined.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?

In the case of chef specifically, I tend to see a lot of people complaining about how few are around and how rare it is to see one, as someone who unfortunately has to spend much time at home I wish to remedy that where I can and become a decently active chef. As for the employee faction as a whole, in what interactions I've had with the professors and staff I can whole heartedly say that everyone is very enjoyable to be around a roleplay with, not only would I like more chances to roleplay with them but I'd also love to be one of those people new players have more of a reason to talk to and thus begin to get used to the server.

Situations
/*Do not mention use of FearRP*/

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?
Irina would smile gently as the student, slowly gliding over while keeping eye contact. Once closer she would offer them a quick snack to help calm them down, while gently reminding them that while she is an adult, and used to such words, their words could hurt not only the feelings of other's, but affect them on a deeper level like their self-esteem. After the student calms down, she'd likely either guide them to a councilor, to blow off some steam or vent, or ask them herself what's causing them to feel upset enough to attack others with their words.

You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:

Being physically unable to talk louder than a whisper, Irina would page other staff members about the situation and immediately throw herself between them in the hopes that hurting someone outside of the situation may calm the two students down. Should that work she'd separate the two students, and summarily talk to them both to gather each side of the story, quell some of their rage, and figure out how the situation escalated as it did. So long as both have calmed down, Irina would walk them down to the nurses office(if they're able to walk) and check or treat their injuries to the best of her ability till the nurse gets there. Only if there is time would she lecture them on the importance of words before fists, putting this on the backburner as she was raised to believe that action tells more words than speaking ever could.

Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:

Having zero tolerance for messing around in the work place, Irina would sit and wait till it was safe or socially acceptable to pull her fellow employee to the side. Immediately she would scold them for being not only a danger to themselves and their job, but also a poor example to the students whether they're around or not. She would be near clueless as to the reason they would be doing thing, rambling on and on about the importance of leadership, perhaps even calling their actions idiotic and downright stupid. It is only after she lets her frustration that she sits down with them and asks her colleague to walk her through their thought process.

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?

Irina see's the break room as both an area of relaxation, and an important place to exchange information with colleagues. It's here she'd rely on JSL wherever she could, giving her voice a much needed break, any colleagues present would be showered with food and sweets while she digs for information from them. Back and forth she'd switch from talk about school to more personal and friendly matters, while she finds school to be important she can't help but want to learn about her fellow staff and of course what makes them smile. Should nobody be around she'd instead switch to organizing and cleaning, paying careful attention to make sure she didn't ruin any system in place(that she knew of).

Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:

/me (Preparing food[Miso] for the day)

/me &oGlided across the Kitchen, quiet steps masked by the clicks of burners turning on. With practiced efficiency, Irina filled pot after pot halfway with water, each pot finding it's way to a burner, smaller pots were given less heat, larger ones had flames practically spilled from the bottom. With the water on the heat and soon to be boiling, she'd grab large sheets of dried seaweed, grabbing a santoku knife from nearby, each sheet was cut into fifths, thin ribbons being produced just as the water was brought to a simmer. Pulling up the arms of the yukata slightly, stacks of seaweed ribbons were placed in each pot, just gently enough to not make a splash while still forcing the seaweed to disperse throughout the water. With each pot filled, a 50 minute timer was set, and burners set on low. In the resulting silence Irina took the time to take inventory of the kitchen's supplies, making note of the miso and katsuobushi. At the 45 minute mark Irina prepared herself, bags of katsuobushi lie wherever she could find space for them, till finally the timer goes off. Right to left, burners are set high, Left to right, tongs invade soupy waters to dig out seaweed, replacing it instead with the katsuobushi, practiced handfuls of the treated tuna spilling onto the soups surface, then falling below as water seeps into each flake. Within 5 minutes the soup flourishes into a beautiful salmon pink, Irina's work however is not quite done. grabbing the last of the available pots from the cabinets, a little over half the original amount of pots are set nearby, Grabbing a fine mesh strainer from the wall, soup and flake are separated with a clean, steady pour, when one pot fills, the mesh is moved, and the process repeated. In the end used seaweed and katsuobushi is set to the side on a pan for later use, and soup sits with containers of miso, ready to be serves when breakfast comes.
(For your sanity and mine this will be the only food based /me I'll do)

/me (Cleaning the kitchen)

/me &oSmelling of bleach and lemons, Irina walked into the kitchen supplied to get every surface cleaned and up to code. First up, clutter, quickened steps danced around the kitchen while Irina picked up items, placing them in their cabinets or hanging them on their hooks, using her other hand to brush off crumbs and other large bits of food, not making sure the place is spotless but making sure the soap and disinfectant can do it's job. With the counters decluttered, Irina took a spray bottle off her hip, turned the nozzle to the right, and coated the counters in a mist of soap, droplets settling down and weakening stains over time. As she waited for the soap to do it's job, it was time for the next step, dust, hands covered in wet rags, unused utensils would shine, cabinets glimmer in the light, and the fridges show her reflection, stretching her form as light bounces off the curved surface. Tossing the rags over her shoulder, a cloth is pulled out signaling the next step, with the help of the chemicals and the well crafted counter, whatever food stains may remain come off with just a swipe of the cloth, should it be too much for the cloth to handle, a trusty sponge remains on her hips just in case. With every surface shining and smooth now, Irina's shuffles off with a sense of a job well done.

/me (Organizing the faculty resources)

/me &oStared up at the bookshelf, eyes darting around from spine to spine, finding many of the books to be the same. Gathering a game plan, she finally began to look around for a ladder or anything she can stand on, in just a moment her eyes land on a chair, skittering over, leaning over, and carrying it over to the shelves. Finally having the height she needs, Irina's hands reached out for the large array of books, given her difficulties reaching them, she sorts them on the 2nd shelf from the bottom, where anyone can access the books. All she needs is a slight glance at the label, A... goes to left, R, place it closer to the end. As time passes, the chaotic mess of random books becomes instead a solid, alphabetized line of documents, letters, and educational manuals. Having finished, Irina lets out a deep sigh and crashes onto the faculty couch.

Backstory

Born on February 19th, 1996, Irina was born into the MacAlasdair family. She quickly learned that the harsh environment of Russia made for a similarly harsh family, a family where one is kept at arms length whether a child is good or bad. It was when she was two that the family had figured out a flaw of Irina's, she can only speak as loud as a whisper, the lack of cries as a baby weren't due to calmness but rather ability, for Irina was born with vocal paralysis, cause unfortunately unknown. By the age of four it was clear to her that she did not have the social power other's had with their voices, even if she had a microphone or some other tool to assist her in speaking louder it simply didn't carry the same power. Instead to make those around her happy, Irina turned to cooking, treating every stroke of the knife like a curve of the pen, she devoted herself to learning how to communicate through her flavors. This very act confused her, Irina did not know why she wanted them to smile, she did not know why she would love the family who kept being so distant from her, either way, she kept on cooking, chasing this weird sense and need for the joy of others.

Skip forwards 8 years, Irina is 12 now, She's gotten a firm grasp on cooking, Russian, and sometime about 5 years ago they began to teach her Japanese, it was only as the airplanes announcement blared in her ear that she found out why, she's being flown to... Karakura? Before she even landed she could see a world entirely unknown to her, no snow, mountains all around, and the colors, so many colors, the nature of Russia is beautiful yes but her eyes were honed not on the plant life but rather the people. Rushing out of the airplane she ran into someone, easily a family member yet one she's never seen before. Something was strange to her as he explained the situation, he looked... happier, more accepting, something she couldn't quite understand. He explained how right before their 13th birthday, MacAlasdairs are sometimes flown to Karakura to join the other family members and learn at Karakura high.

She knows now, the secret to her feelings, the secret to her siblings secrets, smiles are the key to personal happiness! When you can make others smile, you yourself can smile, and Katakura has so, so many happy people! In the matter of a few months, Irina went from someone who hardly studied at all, to someone who lives for reading, for talking to other intellectuals, to figuring out all that she can about the new land she's in and the joy of a smile. Grade 10 comes the year where her life truly changed, walking from class to class, Irina was doing her usual run of the teachers, asking questions and taking notes where she could, till she eyed the principal, talking to someone through JSL, Irina realized then that something she'd always wished for, the ability to talk without her voice, existed and could be learned by her. The rest of Irina's high school life was devoted to language, besides the culinary classes she had completely forgone any class that wouldn't help her learn JSL, night after night was spent reading instructional books, practicing hand gestures, and of course, speaking to the principal who gave her this revelation.

College, once upon a time Irina had despised the idea of a higher education, for what purpose would she wish more work upon herself? It's not more work, it's more opportunities to make joy, that one sentence was engraved in her mind now, she began to obsess now, her family still would not smile, she has to make them smile, and there's only one way she knows to make them. She had been blind, taking three majors wasn't just difficult, it was nigh self destructive, work piled up, time wisped away as though it were candy around kids, Irina struggled to keep up in her first 3 years of college, her stress levels were peaking not even having the time to cook for herself. For this purpose she dropped hospitality off at Master's degree, still it wasn't enough, her 4th year of college left her so exhausted, she disappeared after getting her degree, resigning herself to home cooking and part time jobs.

2025, Irina is 29 now, eyes lay under her eyes still from her years at Karakura high... yet she misses it, she misses being able to cook for so many people, her professors, her teachers, especially the principal who helped her to overcome the curse in which she was born with. When she saw the empty chef position at the place which offered her such joy, it wasn't even a question in her mind, Irina picked up a pen, and applied. With the application sent, sure of her success, she'd sewn a yukata, traditionally worn by female chefs in Japan, but with her own twist, Irina, snow, drawing from the colors of Russia engraved into her, She'd sew the very same snowy yukata she wore to the interview, the very same yukata she now wears so often, the very same yukata she thinks of when seeing the principal.

Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
"Karakura High molded me, made me happier than I ever was in Russia, taught me more than I believe any other school could. As one who was once a bright mind, a student, I cannot help but feel a draw to helping, caring for, and shaping the newest generation of Karakura graduates. Truthfully... my time here was stressful, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Being able to cook for the students, the staff, everyone, it would fulfill my every wish, it would allow me to bring smiles to faces all around Karakura and there's no better purpose I can think of for me."

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:

"Throughout my entire life I have been forced to observe and find new, different ways to tell people how I feel and what I want to say. I believe that's given me the ability to pay attention things other's overlook, as well as the perception to hone in on the smallest parts of problems other's are prone to missing. Apart from that I bring to the table someone willing to lift weight off of anyone's shoulders, any task is mine should I wield the ability to take it on. In other words... I am different, and not lazy."
