In some fountains barrier blocks are used to make water flow properly, this is annoying because it makes for an obstruction you can't see. The block "minecraft:moving_piston" allows players to walk through it, but it stops mobs. And most importantly, fluids. If barrier blocks used in fountains were to be replaced with this block the water would be kept in place without the annoying invisible barrier.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
Less getting stuck in places you shouldn't. And so far i know there aren't any downsides to using the moving_piston block.

This is something that can be implemented easily with structure voids (which as far as I’m aware is a new feature in the 1.20-1.21 updates and I am familiar with) so I don’t see why it can’t be implemented

Those might work even better! The only downside to the moving piston block is that it cant be broken or replaced without using commands. The structure void has been around for a long time though i think, probably since the structure block was added.
