Describe your activity on the server:
I am online on SRP nearly daily, usually for at least 4-5 hours. My playtime is usually 6-8+ a day however. I have been active for about a month consistently at the moment with activity around 5+ hours average each day. I was active in the past around 2020-2022 as well, which I also played several hours a day. I currently have no foreseeable plans of another break, as I quit before to focus on real life college. I have honestly fallen completely in love with SRP again and want to contribute as much as possible to it.

Most days I am online from 9am PDT - 10pm PDT, with a few breaks in-between. If I have IRL work I am on after 4pm PDT until 11pm PDT.

What is your timezone?:
My timezone is PST/PDT, which falls around GMT-7/GMT-8.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I have been an active roleplayer across several platforms for over half my life. I started on video games such as Roblox back in 2011, although I wrote about my original characters even before then. Over time I switched to Forum based roleplay around 2014. Currently, I am active in about 3 different long-form roleplay servers on Discord, which tend to run about 5+ paragraphs each response. I would describe myself as a semi-lit to full-lit writer in most spaces. At 22 I have been roleplaying for over half my life and tend to do so on multiple platforms on the daily.

With Minecraft, I specifically started roleplaying around 2016. This began on Creative servers where players would use their plots to create story specific maps. I ran a high-fantasy roleplay with custom religions, races, and government as well as a modern horror summer camp map for about 2 years. I have been on & off SRP for almost 5 years now and would describe myself as a detailrper majority of the time. My roleplay groups tend to focus on character arcs & longform lore over several IRL weeks.

Below are some SRP and Discord examples of my recent roleplays:

What is your motivation for applying?
I have several reasons I wish to apply. The first is a longing to rejoin EMS. As shown in my applications, I was previously both a Psychiatrist and a Doctor for EMS back in 2021. While I had to quit SRP shortly after due to IRL college I loved my time in the faction. When I remembered my time on SRP during school, my most fond moments were those spent at the hospital. I even met someone who lives in my town & I consider an IRL friend through EMS.

I also have quite the interest in the medical field in my real life. Though I wasn't able to afford finishing college I was a Psychology major. The study of humans as well as how our bodies work has always been a high interest to me. I often find myself in my free time researching these things or watching documentaries related to medical studies. Being able to experience it on SRP would be an honor, as well as give me the ability to share my knowledge I've gained.

Along with most others I also have found myself bored when there is not school on the server or my roleplay group is offline. I tend to find myself wandering near EMS, poking my head inside. I believe that joining an official faction again would help further increase my activity as well as my contributions to SRP. It's come to my attention a few times there are moments when no EMS are available during the later nights, which I am able to be active for due to my timezone.

Which role are you applying for?
I am applying to become a Doctor.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
While my knowledge is a few years outdated, I still remember a good portion from my previous time in EMS during 2021.

Pyschiatrists are those that deal with the mental side of Karakura. They can offer several types of therapy, as well as diagnosis behavioral & mental disorders. Many go to them for mental evaluations. They are also the first line of defense when someone is in a crisis emotionally or once again with their mental health. While they don't deal with physical injuries, they are still incredibly important to the EMS faction. You are able to create an appointment for an IRL time with them or if one is available, walk-in's are also allowed.

Doctors are the ones who deal with the physical aspects of the hospital. They tend to asses injuries (given with /it by the player) and then assist in the best course of action. They are expected to give detail actions of how they treat their patients, as well as using different equipment. Doctors stay inside the hospital at all times unless given permission to leave. It's important that they also have their actions pre-written or keybinded to keep the roleplays consistent & timely.

There are also Paramedic's, which Doctor's are able to specialize in after climbing the doctor ranks. Paramedic's are the ones who will go out on foot in Karakura to surveillance scenes that need medical attention. They also perform the same actions as doctors however are able to move a bit more freely. They also transport those who are unable to reach the hospital by themselves or treat those that wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I acknowledge that I will be expected to attend or receive punishment. As I am active most days, I do not see a point where I will be unable to attend unless a specific event occurs.

In-Character (IC) Section
SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS

Character’s Full Name:

My name is Kurosawa Hanami, or Hanami if we are on a first name basis.

Character’s Gender and Pronouns:
I was born female, although I prefer to use they/she pronouns at this point in my life.

Character’s Age (if accepted):
I just turned 35 on the 24th of April.

Character’s Academic Background:
I attended several international schools in different countries, though majority of my time was split between Japan and the Philippines. I recieved my dual bachelors in Biochemistry & Biology alongside a minors in Filipino at The University of the Philippines Diliman in 2011, at the age of 21. Afterwards, I applied & completed medical school at University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. I studied there from the ages of 22 until 27. I then entered residency for 5 years until I was around 32 years of age. At the same time, I completed a masters in Biochemistry online through Tohoku University in Japan.

Currently, I possess my minors in Fillipino, a masters in Biochemistry, my MD from Santo Tomas, and a license to practice medicine in both the Philippines & Japan. I am however interested in continuing my education to a PHD in Biochemistry, as well as perhaps a masters in Biology as well.

Character’s Nationality:
I am mixed between Japanese and Filipino. I find both my heritages are incredibly important to me.

Character’s Marital Status:
I am happily single. If anything, I find myself married to my job in the medical field more than anything else.

Character’s Religious Denomination:
My beliefs have changed over the years. While I was raised catholic, I now identify more with Agnostic and Buddhist beliefs. I see life as a cycle that is always repeating, even in the smallest forms. Though I cannot deny other religions do not have any truth to them at all, they would not exist if not for some belief and truth.

Character’s Spoken Languages:
I currently speak Japanese, Filipino, and a bit of JSL.

Character Backstory (Optional):
I do not believe my.. early home life is much for discussion, however I will provide what I can.

I was born in Japan a few years after my older brother, named Touji Kurosawa. While we were not close growing up I still highly value my relationship with him. My parents are about the same in my eyes. When I was 4 years old I was diagnosed with Autism, along with advanced intelligence later in life. Due to this I believe I have often.. scared others away. My special interests with my Autism often relate to the human body and disorders, which does not make for good conversations I have found. I also found myself interested in Biochemistry from the moment I discovered it. Often I would ask for equipment and textbooks during holidays instead of the usual toys.

Growing up, I moved around quite a bit, on my own that is. I would advance too far in schools & be sent somewhere else to 'challenge' me. Therefore I was often put in international boarding schools at different countries. While I have been to many my heart has always been in Japan and the Philippines. I spent many a summer in Cebu visiting extended family where I researched Filipino. During these visits I would also volunteer at local clinics, citing my experience at my schools nurse stations. My highschool graduation project involved creating a more speed lined system for the appointments in my local area.

Once I graduated I moved to the Philippines for my advanced educations. I have spent a little over a decade there to receive my medical degree requirements. I found myself dual-majoring in both Biology & Biochemistry as I couldn't decide between them. Even with the overlap of classes I feel it was worth it for the foundation of knowledge I built. I also received a minor in Filipino as the culture is important to me to keep alive. Despite the long distance, I also did my best to keep in contact with my Japanese family. Especially since I am now the aunt to 6 kids. Although I am still shocked my brother is able to keep up with the majority of them. I have not had many if any serious relationships to imagine such a family.

Despite my love of the Philippines my family has called me to return to Japan, specifically a place called Karakura. I do not know the exact reason I am needed to return however I am not one to turn down those in need. My reason for desiring a position at the Karakura Hospital is partially due to this move, as I would be heartbroken to give up the dream I spent so long working towards.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

My initial focus in Medical School was that of Pediatrics and Family Medicine due to my large family. However, I discovered a love for Pathology once I researched more. Due to my love of both Biology and Biochemistry I felt learning about diseases & their preventions the most practical use of my skills. I still enjoy researching on my own into different theories of further cures.

My focus within Pathology tends to lead more towards the forensic chemistry side of the specialty. My brain works on facts over feelings and is best with direct information. Although I am also interested in moving more towards Neurology. I find the study of the human brain fascinating, especially with how certain diseases can cause reactions or disorders affect different humans. I hope to further my knowledge of Pathology while in Karakura, and that it is an asset to the team there.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
I have been supporting my alma mater in their pathology research department since my residency. I have contributed to a few published studies, although most we're with a group of others. As a child I frequently volunteered at different clinics as well as my school nurses stations due to my advanced knowledge.

For the past 2-3 years I have also been using my license to practice as a specialist in hereditary diseases in the Philippines. I have treated many with conditions such as hemophilia, cystic fibrosis, and also those who have autism like myself. Though my autism work is more of a passion project rather than an actual job. I also have been trying to research more about Sanfilippo syndrome after a friend's son was diagnosed with such. I prefer to focus on those that have little research as I feel they are the best use of my resources.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

I was born with pale skin as well as blue eyes, akin to most of my family. My hair was originally a dark brown at birth however darkened into black as I grew. I also developed a white streak as a small child, for unknown reasons. Many seem to comment on it.. I do like it although I don't see as special compared to most.

My style tends to lean professional and basic, while formal. I never leave the house without making sure my style makes sense. I prefer dresses over pants and long sleeves over short. Many would describe me as approachable yet stern I believe. I have a resting serious face. My hair is often pulled back in some form as well, which makes my white streaks & eyes pop out more.

I do my best to look put together as well as someone that is available if needed. Though most often I tend to coordinate my outfits to whatever scrubs I will be using or my doctors coat. Just because I am medical professional doesn't mean I cannot look stylish, no?

How does your character act around the hospital?
At my current job, I am almost always on the move. I find myself feeling useless if I am not doing something. You may find me reading the latest published medical studies and taking notes between patients. I also do my own studying of research while the hospital is quiet. Though this doesn't mean I refuse to talk with coworkers. If the time is right, I do enjoy socializing. It is important to maintain connections within the team as we must work together for the patients.

If there is someone in need of attention, then they are my priority. My focus will be completely on them to make sure their treatment is the best it can be. I tend to be thorough in my treatment plans. I do not compromise safety for speed although I do my best to finish in a timely fashion. I also do my best to make sure my patients are comfortable. It's important to gauge their responses as well as what type of interactions they need. Some do better with more bedside talk, others would rather me do my job in silence. I am comfortable with any as long as the one I am treating feels safe with me.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
As a child I found myself often struggling to work with others, however this has improved over time. I still tend to isolate without meaning however I do open up to those I work once we are closer. I find it important to cultivate a team-like atmosphere in the hospital. Our best work is done when we are able to collaborate on efforts & knowledge.

Most of the time if I am confident I will express my thoughts solo. If there are others around, I will ask for their opinion. It depends on the situation if I believe I am able to handle it by myself or not. I tend to hope I am someone that is able to be approached by my coworkers if they need something. When working with others, I tend to take on a leadership role. I prefer to help make sure everyone is heard while storing information. I take research & my work very seriously, that extends to my conversations with others.

Firstly, thank you for applying to the Hospital Faction, and we appreciate your interest. However, after discussing your application with the higher-ups, we have unfortunately decided to deny your application this time around.

This decision was made based upon the following reasons:

- When choosing applicants for the Hospital faction, we tend to look for individuals with a decent reputation on the server. You can try to apply to other factions or community teams, or interact more around the server, to boost this!

Nonetheless, we encourage you to keep an eye on the Karakura Emergency #announcements channel for future application waves, and to re-apply at a later date if you're still interested.

This decision was made as a collective among a group of individuals. rather than a single individual. Any DMs to members of the faction and/or higher-ups will be ignored and referred to this response.
