What's the title of your suggestion?:

Modifying the speech plugin

What's your suggestion?:

If you whispered through a wall, you wouldn't "realistically" hear it. If you yelled through as far as possible, and saw this in your chat, you wouldn't be able to hear it entirely, it'd be distorted, or quiet, maybe some bits would be taken out, similar to how phone calls are harder to hear below a certain Y level.

I am suggesting to change as follows, specifically.

If you whisper, and someone hears from the other side of the wall, it causes the individual listening to hear "mumbling" or something of that sorts. If you hear a yell from afar, or medium range, part of the text be distorted, or even just non-existent."

How will this benefit the server and community?:

Adding more realism to text-chat.

I'm pretty sure they have something like this when your hosting classes where the messages sent by people within a classroom are global in respect to the Area. it'll be interesting to have that but I don't think it'll be as noticeable (besides if you're over a wall and still hear someone talking it cant be taken ICly unless you yell)

Neutral.

This already exists with chat rooms. Suppose you stand inside a classroom, for example, and try to whisper to a person outside the classroom or speak normally. The person outside the classroom will not be able to hear. Kimi mentioned to us that at a later date, there will be more locations of chat rooms added. I have no clue if that'll involve each apartment or not.

May be hard to do for every corridor and space in SRP, as some will be missed but overall if possible +1

I lowkey love this idea. It would be fun, though I also acknowledge it may be hard to implement. However if it can, I think this would be beneficial and more realistic! Might make police chases and their 'halts' more interesting too. Although it could be complicated in some places, I really do think this would be a cool thing to see implemented if it can be!

As for the arguement of chatrooms, it's still usually used to stop majority of words from getting out besides yells. I think being able to see these things distort and not be just limited to no sound would just be more interesting. In addition, maybe this suggestion could even be used to base how thin the walls are! For example, maybe criminal spots have more sound protection.. cuz yk... and houses maybe got those thin walls (RIP thin wall housing people). I think you'd realistically be able to subtly hear in a classroom if they speak regularly, and I just think this could make things more creative rather than a chatroom that blatantly cancels noises rather than distortions

Summary
If this can be implemented I'd love it because the distortion would be fun. Could be used to issue different wall variantions, and make things more dynamic and thoughtful! I'd say especially for the crime side cuz like.. they'd have to test it before bringing captives or things. Anywho! Do think this is creative and would love to see it
