Describe your activity on the server:
This upcoming summer, I will have been an active member of SRP for about 4 years. Since I began, I’ve been playing my first character consistently, frequenting the server enough to maintain a job and an apartment for my character.
With discord being my main mode of communication with my friends, I’m part of multiple SRP-related servers and check my notifications daily. It’s rare for me to miss an announcement. I also check the forums and Onrain on a bi-weekly basis at minimum, and multiple times per week when I’m in a state of average activity.

Most recently, I’m emerging from a hiatus that started with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and New Years. But with Spring starting up, I expect to have more free time than I did at the beginning of the year, and am planning to once again refresh my level of SRP activity. I have obligations off the web with changing hours, but I tend to have free time on weekends and a few select weekdays.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

What position are you applying for?
Governor

What is your motivation for applying?
After 4 dedicated years of playing Ava from adolescence to young adulthood, I’m eager to roleplay the next phase of her life. Headstrong, business minded, compassionate, and recently married to someone well studied in public safety, a position in the Karakura’s Government faction feels right for my character.
I’m also looking for a strong anchor in-character to guide me as I pull myself from my hiatus and back into SRP for the next few months.
Finally, I’ve always been in search of ways to cleave myself to Karakura’s world and lore. Throughout my playtime I’ve joined clubs, jobs, and other groups to strengthen my characters’ sense of belonging to the world. To become a Governor feels like being entrenched more deeply in the shifting day-to-day of Karakura.

Do you have an understanding of Karakura’s laws & Constitutional rights?
I understand and am comfortably familiar with the 8 types of legal violations that a member of the government faction may need to process as well as the 17 articles of the Constitution of Karakura.

What are your goals for being in Government Faction?

By becoming a governor, I hope to be an effective mouthpiece on behalf of the Karakuran Government that is known for making in-character legal processes easy and even fun. I feel that the government faction is an excellent source of regular, impactful roleplay where I can improve another players' experience both in and out of character.
I also have the goal of advancing my primary character's life narrative by moving her into the next phase of her adulthood.

In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction
All government officials are either required or heavily encouraged to attend trials, and some responsibilities overlap between roles.
The judge is a point of authority over due process, not just in the court room, but in the office. Their approval allows restraining orders, marriages, warrants, and other various actionable documents to be officiated. Similarly, Lawyers play a large role in developing this same documentation. A lawyer of Karakura can be described as agents of the law who interface with clients in need of legal consultation and action.
Finally, the Governors are what I consider to be the interface between Karakura's government and the public at large. Inspecting shops, issuing ID cards, surveying and/or addressing the public, and many more tasks that involve communicating between Town Hall and the general citizenship of Karakura fall to the Governors.

Do you acknowledge that upon being accepted you can be subject to removal at any given time?
Absolutely, as is the case with many jobs.

Have you read & agreed to follow the Government Faction rules?
Yes.
I agree to follow RoleplayHub’s OOC rules.
I agree to eliminate OOC biases from the job.
I understand and accept that upon my acceptance criminal or gang roleplay will not be permitted regarding Ava, the character that I’m applying with.
I understand and accept that unserious, noncanonical, or nonsensical roleplay on the job will result in consequences that may have IC and/or OOC repercussions.
I understand and accept that breaking these rules will result in my removal from the faction.

IN CHARACTER SECTION

Full name:
Ava Reed

Preferred title:
Mrs.

Current age:
26

Date of birth:
May 7th

Gender:
Cis Female, She/Her pronouns.

Academic Degree:
2 BA degrees from Karakura College

Double Major:
Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration
Bachelor of Arts in Economics

Minor:
Fashion Design

Work experience:
I've been working since I was young, and have experience in various fields under my belt.
In Karakura alone, I've held similar retail positions that feel brief in hindsight at Harecuts, Sayonara Gift Shop, and Kiku Dokyo. More notably, is my longest held position at Yeobo, the candy shop and arcade in the shopping district as a cashier and game host.
I've also worked as a musical performer at the initial Club Umbra location. That job led me to a position at Hoshino Productions, having gotten in on the ground floor as an aspiring performer, up until my brief tenure as it's COO until I stepped down from the company.
One other position I've held for several years was my self employment as a freelance seamstress. I still accept the odd commission for tailoring or repairs today, using skills I've honed since my childhood in Ishikawa. Including, but not limited to textile dyeing, material collection, record keeping, and account balancing.

Nationality & born location:
I was born in Rotterdam, but have spent as much of my life as I can remember as a Japanese citizen. I've been a legal citizen of Japan since I was 7, and of Karakura specifically since I
was 13 years old.

Fluent languages (Underline your native):
It goes without saying that I'm fluent in Japanese, but my first language is Dutch. I was adopted into Japan so early on, I'm embarrassed to say that I had to re-learn Dutch with my sister's help as a teenager! But I'm proud to be back to fluency.
I'm also conversational in English, with the help of my husband and his family.

Criminal record:
My name is Ava Reed, and my maiden name is Hanasaki. Searching either name in the KPD database will confirm that I have no criminal record to speak of.

What makes you a good candidate for this job?
I understand that my work history may appear misaligned with government work: perhaps a minor in Fashion Design doesn't scream Governor. But I'd like to dissolve any misgivings about my qualification and dedication. I have lived my entire life as an upstanding citizen following the letter of the law. My neighbors and peers can attest to my attendance at public trials, my passion for community, and my love for Karakura itself. This city, problems and all, was a safe haven for me when I needed one, and I long to give back to it.
I am an incredibly hard worker with a wealth of compassion, creativity, and tenacity.
I hope that you will keep me in mind for the position of Governor, and thank you for your consideration.
