KARAKURA NEWS | Roof Tops and You

BannerFinal.png

The birds are singing, the sun is beaming, and the temperatures are ever climbing—make way Spring, for Summer seems to be just around the corner. In the height of the recent crash by the town hall, gothic ball—and this 'Five Missed Calls' the kids have been bumping these days; I bring you Karakura, a lighter article. Something to idly shift through as you're preparing your bikinis and swim trunks for this coming June.

Although, this brief period of transition has brought on some recollection. Specifically, appreciation for some of the smaller things life has to offer.

Roof’s.

We all have them, we all need them! Yet have you ever found yourself curious about the various roof tops of your favorite factions? Who exactly has the best designer? Well we here at KN are here to answer your questions. So strap in Karakurians—follow along with us as we explore the various rooftops of Karakura’s factions.

First up, we have Karakura's very own News Station. The central hub for bringing you all the latest news, such as this. Walking up the steps to our roof, the first thing that you'll be able to spot is our 'Gnome Tower', 'Tower of Gnomes', whatever you'd like to call it. I personally call it ‘A severe amount of cleanup if someone were to send it toppling over’.

Nonetheless, walking further in, past the grill and our very own satellite tower; you'll be welcomed by the main stage area. Where we typically host important gatherings and the like. Accompanied by a few tables here or there, it is surely a good time ensured whenever an event is hosted here. Fun fact, we also house a sign here that our very own publisher and senior reporter worked hard in 'borrowing'.

Although, this did spark the main inspiration for the question this article beckons to solve, 'What of the other Faction roofs?'. As mundane as the question itself may seem, I beg to differ. After all, who wouldn't want to learn more about the very places our working force here in Karakura bide their time in their off hours? Well, I decided to firstly begin my small venture with—

The sun was resting just over the horizon when I entered the lobby of the hospital. Thankfully, it was quiet around this time. Enough so for me to spare the time of one of the building's very own staff to be shown to the roof.

For the most part, the area was small; but by no means was it not pleasant to look at. Various flora covered every crevice of the space I had entered. Which, really, could only be expected. After all, being on your toes all the time, saving lives—It would only make sense that such a calming area was provided for the off moments. Unfortunately, was this the most I was able to see with limited access, yet it still held its own charm. After some brief conversation with the staff member I was unfortunately not able to catch the name of; I bid them adieu and moved along my journey. From the hand that nurtures, to the one that brings justice.

Karakura's Police force tackle many challenges day to day. Protecting small people such as myself and you from the many dangers that Karakura faces. Yet what about when they’re not upholding a criminal to justice? Where do these everyday heroes spend their time? Well, KPD's very own Sinner Volkonsky was more than willing to show me around. Explaining some of the inner workings of their rooftop.

"The basketball court is where the prisoners get to get some exercise in and eat." Explained Volkonsky. The roof of the station dedicates itself to two main areas specifically. One for KPD's very own helicopter, and the prisoners yard. It was fascinating to be able to roam the very same areas that infamous criminals once did. Although, thankfully put away behind bars. I would share a picture of the helipad, but this report is getting long enough as it is, and we have to move onto our last roof—certainly, but not least!

The sun was setting upon approaching the government building. A metaphor, in a way, symbolizing the end of this journey. I believe I and various other Karakurian's could agree that the work the government does is sorely underappreciated. From being the runners behind many trials and leading to many infamous criminals being put away; to divorces, adoptions, so on. I would certainly suggest looking more into the services our government provides, for there is surely something for everyone.

Whilst there wasn't a lot to be said about the rooftop of the government building, save for a telescope tucked away in the corner. I was shown by one of the anonymous workers their greenhouse. Although I wasn’t able to catch who exactly tends to it often—It was still a quaint and small way to end our rooftop journey.

As this article rears its end, I bring the question back onto you, dear readers. Which roof was your personal favorite?
