We gather ourselves on the cusp of a new season of Karakura, changes going underway to make room for spring—the once frost nipped air being filled with pollen and a nice spring breeze. However, whilst there are plenty of changes, some things never change. What I’m referring to is those that scamper the streets, blacked out figures going bump into the night. Likely to leave a chill to any Karakurian—In this article, we are once more covering the crime in Karakura, although it’s less than anything new. Multiple accounts of varying degrees of violence, property damage, and more—has gone back dating even decades. Criminals make it difficult to even leisurely enjoy the sights, without potential room for harm. Although it didn’t remain this way. For a period, there was silence amongst the storm we found ourselves in. The rates at which crime steadily began to lower. Your average Karakurian could once more roam the streets without worry.
However, this period wouldn’t last for long. As we have once more found ourselves in a steady climb in criminal rates. Fights caught in the middle of parking lots, masked individuals leisurely roaming the streets—the list goes on. The appearance of the recent, as the kids say “Turfs” have only come to heighten this activity.
The list itself only continues to lengthen as the days go by. With the growing concern, I took to the streets. Asking the citizens of Karakura for their thoughts on this recent epidemic. Shedding some light on the situation, and hoping to pinpoint a reason, external, or internal. Is it simply greed pushing these young individuals towards a life of crime? Or does it run deeper? Stay tuned, as this is what they had to say—

"Hello Karakura, Amaryllis Kida here on the scene with two of Karakura's citizens, here to discuss the recent surge in crime. Can you two introduce yourselves please?"
[HANSUKE IKKI]
"Hansuke, Hansuke Ikki."
[MIN-HYUK C. STARK-HATAKE]
"Min-Hyuk, or well known as Hiroto too but preferred Min-Hyuk, Min-Hyuk Cloud Stark."

[AMARYLLIS KIDA]
"Its my pleasure then. Now, what do you two have to say about the heightened crime? What do you believe is behind all of this?"
[!] Kida's voice faded as the tape recorder was moved. Allowing for the listener to clearly hear the men's responses.
[HANSUKE IKKI]
"Easy, accessibility to crime. Any kid nowadays could easily get into a gang or.. Get a hold of a weapon or even just.. Regular assault. if anythin' it's normal. No one even bats an eye at it."
[MIN-HYUK C. STARK-HATAKE]
"I personally think the heightened crime is absurd. I believe what's behind this is a craving for power by the fear of other individuals. In a way it's kind of saddening.. Like.. No where in this town is safe to be at night without feeling like you're being watched or followed. They can be anywhere at any time. The power and money is what they crave. And the fear of others is what they see pleasure in."

[!] The Reporter's voice grew closer as the recorder was brought back to himself, and back to the pair soon after.
[AMARYLLIS KIDA]
"It all boils down to kids being in a position no child should ever be in. Easy to access weapons, and a power trip is horrible on these young minds."
[!] A brief pause before continuing.
"Do either of you believe there is an external reason? Since, time has shown that crime was settled and only recently began to re-surge."
[HANSUKE IKKI]
"Not sure.. I don't remember crime ever bein' settled. It's always been there.- Well.. Maybe the powerplant. The main entrance got blocked off a while ago cus 'a that crash with the police or whatever. Think cus 'a that crime 'n gang stuff spilled out onto the street again. Everyone knew to stay away from powerplant so.. It bein' harder to access made people do it in more public spaces."
[MIN-HYUK C. STARK-HATAKE]
"Well I remember a case, Herrington VS Popovich. Karakura went crazy after that. They broke into the Karakura Police Department and tried to raid it. That's what I remembered. That one did get settled in a way but.. not exactly a pleasant way." - "I think.. that was settled after? The doors were moved.. If I'm correct. And a wall was built."
[HANSUKE IKKI]
"I dunno.. Felt like after it was closed, I saw a lot more of it."

[AMARYLLIS KIDA]
"And do you think that this was the key event that led to more criminals around Karakura?"
[MIN-HYUK C. STARK-HATAKE]
"I think so yeah! It's like a wildfire spreading. There will only be more and more each day."
[HANSUKE IKKI]
"Probably a lotta other factors as well like KPD incompetence, they're busy a lotta time, so.. If you make a call, chances are you won't see 'em for a WHIIILE. But uh.. Yeah, crime is always gonna be a problem here. Just.. Too far gone unless the government somehow comes up with solution to stop all crime then.. Yeah."

[AMARYLLIS KIDA]
"And I entirely agree. That's why we're here trying to get down to the source of the fire, and do some good. And what are your personal thoughts about all this in the first place? Or any closing remarks you'd like to share?"
[HANSUKE IKKI]
"I just hope some 'a the kids get out the situation they're in before somethin' happens they can't go back from. Easy to get sucked up in that stuff."
[MIN-HYUK C. STARK-HATAKE]
"Well the crime in this is driving me away from living here. Hence why I got two places. I stay here to keep my own children safe in this town because I love them with my whole heart and it pains me to leave them alone here, but the crime is making it difficult to stay." - "So I truly hope people out in Karakura will have a mind-switch and take the good path. Everyone has some good inside their heart. I truly hope the crime will settle down and lower."

[AMARYLLIS KIDA]
[!] A faint hum was heard before he spoke up this time—
"You mentioned having two places? Do you believe that, at the rate things are going if crime isn't cracked down on soon, people may begin to look elsewhere when it comes to living conditions?"
[MIN-HYUK C. STARK-HATAKE]
"I believe so. I have a place out of town which has less crime, it's a safer environment and it's safe to walk outside without having a knife held towards you. I believe, if the crime won't lower, people will eventually start leaving.. My old friends unfortunately left but their decision was the right one so I would never be upset about it since I'm slightly doing the same. I'm just visiting back and forth."

[AMARYLLIS KIDA]
"I see.. Thank you very much then. I believe that is all we needed."
[!] Once more, the recorder was brought close. The Reporter's voice was ringing out loud and clear.
[AMARYLLIS KIDA]"As you've heard Karakura, things are getting dangerous. So remember to stay safe out there. And to keep a particular eye on your children, as you never know if they could be pulled into the unfortunate hole many others have as well."
[!] The recording ended with another click, only silence following after.
━━━━━━━━━━━━Karakura's Abandoned Powerplant━━━━━━━━━━━━
Long since were the days where criminal activity was typically found at the abandoned Powerplant just near the Zen Garden. Truly, it was the central hot spot for it. Many were weary to go near such a place. After all, on the day-to-day were citizens sent to the Hospital, most on account of visiting the malice ridden building. However, after it was passed that criminal activity was no longer allocated there—criminals had to move someplace else.━━━━━━━━━━━━Karakura's Abandoned Powerplant━━━━━━━━━━━━
Now, the building remains quiet. As criminals run rampant among our town of Karakura. We may live in a brief silence now, yet we are all simply waiting until the storm strikes once more. Upbringing our town and leaving us with more questions than answers.
Yet that’s what the Karakura News Station is here for. Aiming to keep the people of Karakura our number one priority, and never failing to give you dear reader, nothing but the latest.
This has been Amaryllis Kida, bringing you the truth, the facts, and the ugly. Signing off.
