Adopted or not, we have all heard of the word. But what does it mean here in Karakura? Well my dearest readers- fear not because I, Reporter Ahdi’ka, am here to tell you.
If you have ever wondered about how to get adopted here in Karakura, what the process is and more Q&A, continue reading; Maybe this report will spark some interest in looking into adoption yourself!

Let’s begin at the heart of it all; what exactly is the adoption process? Adoption starts when a to-be parent enters Town Hall with a child 18 or under, the two then request either a Judge or Governor to see to the adoption! The Town Hall Employee will take them to one of the offices, where paperwork will be filled out. As part of the procedure, the Employee will ask to see an ID to verify the parents age and ask them a series of questions that are relevant to the paperwork. Once completed, the child will have officially been adopted through Town Hall and will have received a physical certificate.
Requirements of adoption
What do you mean there are requirements to adopt? And to absolutely no one’s surprise, there are! These requirements ensure the to-be parent is fit to take care of a child and for the child’s own safety. These requirements can be found in the Adoption guide found at Town Hall where other information may be listed; here is a list of all 6 requirements.
⤷Those who wish to adopt must have 20,000¥ as payment
⤷ An ID must be provided by the parent and shown to the Government Employee
⤷ A parent must be at least 25 years of age or older to be eligible to adopt.

“Really?! Must have been a magical moment for the two of you, what has personally motivated you to adopt?”
[Wendy Kuznetsov-Akiyama]
“Well .. When I moved from my home, I wasn’t exactly on the best terms with the rest of my family; ultimately I had no one. In my time in Karakura, I met my lovely daughter and asked to take care of her. I’m now happily married to my Husband who loves my daughter as much as I do.”

[Wendy Kuznetsov-Akiyama]
“I have recently gotten back from vacation so not many personally, but of course we do keep logs of all adoptions so I see around 1 a week. We still have people come in and have no idea we do adoptions though.”
