TRIVIA QUESTIONS

What is the student council and what do they do?:
The student council is a group of students selected by SLT to manage the mass amount of students on campus during school hours. The student council assists SLT by defusing conflict between other students, and organizing dances and festivals. A key role in the student council is promoting school policies and student wellness.

What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.):
My motivation stemmed from wanting a new experience within the server. The diversity of the factions I have been in are very limited and I wish to expand my general knowledge on all the types of factions. While I was searching for a new faction, I was recommended to the student council for how accepting they are and how interacting the faction is with the rest of the player base.

Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events):
Yes, I’m aware of this.

Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?:
President
The President is the highest rank of the student council. The role holds great importance by handing out tasks to councillors, and supervising events.

Vice-President
The vice-president is in charge of supporting the president, aiding them to maintain order within the student council as a whole. If the President couldn’t make it to an event, the vice-president would be in their spot.

Councilor
The bulk of the student council. They work under the President and vice-president. Their main role is ensuring students are following school rules, defusing conflict, and aiding SLT with hosting school events or festivals.

SCENARIOS

While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly?
“I would personally pull them aside to interrogate the disruptive student. I would start by asking why they are being disruptive in the first place. If the student apologizes and corrects their behavior, then I will only give a verbal warning. However, if the student continues being a disturbance I would radio for SLT to give out a proper and greater punishment.”

A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do?
“The moment they run off, it's an immediate radio call to SLT that a student is failing to abide by school rules. Once the radio has been sent out, I would swiftly continue pursuit until they are caught by an SLT member, or myself.”

A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns?
“The problem would have to be discussed in private. Therefore, I would pull the student aside to question them. Start by asking what was their motive, what encouraged the student to write threatening media to other students. After the questioning with the student was finished, I would then bring it to the attention of the teacher. Showing them the disturbing artwork and discussing a proper punishment for the student.”

A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression?
“Personally, I believe protests are healthy for a community. If people are upset and want change, they will protest to be heard! That being said, safety measures have to be taken into account. I’m all for people speaking their mind, and speaking up when things need changing. I would ask the students what they were protesting for, to ensure what they are protesting for is something worth the motion. In an example where it is, I would allow a protest ONLY if it was peaceful. Protesting would only be held in the courtyards or areas of the school with no classrooms, to guarantee students' learning experiences aren’t being hindered.”

A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this?
“Firstly, I would listen carefully and attentively to the teacher telling me of my wrong doings. Any criticism to me is good criticism. Secondly, I would then ask what I could do differently and what I did wrong in the first place. Lastly, I would apologize for my negligence and be sure that I don’t make another careless mistake such as that again.”

Please provide at least one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event):
Karakura’s Crazy Circus

“A spin on the classic circus, but with club members as the actors. I call it Karakura’s Crazy Circus! The name could use some work, but the name isn’t what’s important. The important part is what the circus brings! Each club will take on a role. For example, music can be handled by the music club, acrobatics will be for the sports club, etc. The circus would be hosted by the Student Council with the aid of all the clubs. As for the location, the convention center would be a perfect place for an annual circus. With it being in the convention center, there’s plenty of space for performers and ongoing spectators. Additionally, anyone of any age can witness the spectacular show that is the circus. To keep the circus a rare yet anticipated event, it would only be hosted once a year. The circus is an old yet forgotten relic that I believe deserves another chance in the modern age! There will be no animals featured in the circus at all, to avoid potential animal cruelty of any kind.

“Of course if it’s a circus, there needs to be tents as well! The tents will be the classic tent design with red and white stripes. A similar looking tent would be placed near the entrance selling food and snacks for ongoing spectators to purchase as they watch the actors perform in the ring. Overall, this event is intended to fill a potentially boring and uneventful day and make it a memorable one. The main goal of the circus is to bring the community together and enjoy the live entertainment provided by the club members, the performers. Allowing clubs to show their individual human skills, fearless acrobatics, and comedy acts. The circus had a huge role in society long ago, but has been forgotten since. This is an attempt to bring back live entertainment in an age full of technology.”

Personal Information
(in character)

Name:
Hōkūlani Ka’uhane

Gender:
Female

Age:
18

Phone number:
(030)-571-4650

How would you describe your personality?:
“How do I view myself? I see myself as a confident yet subtly caring girl who walks with a lot of pride. Some would call me brash, but I would call it tough love! I’m pretty outgoing, I love to meet new people whenever I can. I want to be a social butterfly or whatever they call it, but my ‘brash’ personality scares others off. Anyways, I’m nice when you get to know me! Damn, that sounded a lot less corny in my mind..”

Appearance/attire (Please provide a picture):

What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?:
“A new mind coming into town that brings new ideas! I’m still new here, but I don’t think I should be underestimated solely based on that. I bring a fresh motivated mind that is ready to better the school and ensure that it is a safe learning environment.”

Why do you want this position?:
“I see this position as a good way to interact with the other students on campus. As stated before, I’m still a newbie here. Any chance to make a new friend or two, is a golden opportunity for me! Directly aiding school faculty or clubs with events that take place on school grounds feels like a path I'm willing to take.”

What interests you the most about student council?:
“The hard work the councillors are willing to put in for the school that typically goes unnoticed or unappreciated. As a councillor you are expected to aid in club specific or SLT hosted events. A pressure that not every student could handle. Something else about the council that piqued my interest was defusing altercations between fellow students.”

What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?:
“A new prideful student that is willing to put all my effort into making school a safe yet fun environment at the same time. Patrolling the hallways ensuring every student is following the school rules. Putting my all into aiding my fellow students or SLT with important events. Communication is a key factor in school success. Any suggestions from other students will be relayed to a higher-up for consideration!”
