What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
Well to start, I really want to get better at writing. I have loved writing ever since I was little, but I stopped during covid season and just gave up. I really want to prove when you try something new, you will succeed. I take feedback really well and want to hear from everyone on how I can improve. You need to practice something before saying you cannot do it, and I have learned that. When you apply for a faction, you need to have the motivation to be active, you can't just say "oh I want to be in here for the role." You need to actually be active and do things the proper way. I can do all of that because my activity is very good.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
I love writing! Outside of SRP, I wrote all these Non-fiction stories about me and friends from school. Writing was my passion, and I want to continue writing!

Why should we accept you over others?:
You should accept me over others because I have a passion for writing. When you write you need to use your creative abilities and just show how great your mind is, if take your time with things. You should never rush trying to make a news report because it will end up messy or sloppy. I for sure take my time and make sure I am doing things the correct way. When you take into account my activity, I should be chosen because I will be active and show my creative expression and abilities. I want to do a lot of news reports and just do my very best in this faction.

How I describe myself in under 150 words? Pretty difficult but here we go. When I have a passion for something I do not stop what I am doing. Let's use writing for example! I always write and do not stop until I am finished. I push myself to the limits. When I push myself that is where I see an increase in my personality. I feel more confident in myself. When I do not push myself, I am still the same way, but I try less hard. Just know, you are going to get the side of me where I push myself nonstop. This is the side you want to see from me because I will get things done extremely quick.
What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
I am interested in writing about a lot of things! What I love the most is writing about KPD vs Crime. This really interests me because it shows what both sides are doing to each other and gives me more in-depth news interviews to put in reports. When you have specific things you need to write about and get done, I feel as if its sometimes easy to accomplish/
What are your expectations for the job?:
My expectations for the job is pretty simple, I want to do many news reports and interviews. I want to show my true talent for writing and make sure I am able to be creative.

Interview with KPD's Colton Cash on the recent crime wave going on within the town.
**The tape recorder turns on and Matias Martinez grabs a computer to load up his notes.**
Matias Martinez- Hello, Mr. Cash. How are you doing today?
Colton Cash- "Hello, Mr Martinez. I am doing fine, let's get this interview going, I have places to be."
Matias Martinez- "Well to start, what do you think of this recent crime wave that is going on?"
Colton Cash- "I hate it, I hate it so much. I don't like seeing our town suffer because of these violent people. We need to put an end to this quickly before things get out of hand."
Matias Martinez- "I agree, it is heart breaking to see these unfortunate events going on. Next question, what does the KPD plan to do, in order to stop these stabbings?"
Colton Cash- "Well, we plan on getting to them before they can hurt others. We have locked many up and will continue to do so until this crime spree is over. We need to get as many weapons as we can off the streets. We cannot do this without the citizens help. You know Mr. Martinez, most of these criminals end up being kids. We need to get these kids out of the gang life and help them change. I know we can make them change; we just need to work through it with them."
Matias Martinez- "So you're saying that a lot of kids are getting into the gang association at a young age? Very interesting. Why do these kids get involved at such a young age? Is it influence, did they not grow up in a good household or is it just their parents cannot control them?"
Colton Cash-"Well to be honest, it is a little bit of everything. Kids get influenced very easily Mr. Martinez. They do not know how to control themselves and think it is cool to follow the footsteps of others and not their own. They basically let others control their future in life. All these kids with felonies and misdemeanor charges on their records have done irresponsible things in life. Once they get put in that cell, some of them change. Then you have the ones who don't change. We have repeat offenders almost every day who end up in our cells. It is very sad to see, as some of these kids don't have proper parenting too teach them right from wrong. They think anything they do is correct... which is not the case. You also have the kids who have parents in the crime business. These kids follow the parent's paths and do what they do. It is like they want to take up a legacy that was never there.
Matias Martinez- "Well, that is very good to know. What do you think about how many officers have been ambushed recently and attacked, including yourself?"
Colton Cash- "Well, simple, we need to watch our backs at all times. If we feel something is not right.... We turn around and find safety. We cannot just run off from each other and expect to not be attacked. Once you run off from the group, that is the easiest way to be caught by yourself. You will not have any backup or time to call for more officers, as you will be surrounded by many people with weapons. If we ever get into a situation where you have the chance to run, you run. You cannot sit and try to stop them as you get overpowered. We learned from that after being ambushed and trust me more precautions are in place to keep us safe.
Matias Martinez- "How do you plan to take these weapons off the streets? How do you all plan to make sure attacks do not happen outside the station anymore?"
Colton Cash- "Well attacks outside the station we cannot control. These attacks are just provoked to get us outside and go after them. For the answer to your question about getting weapons off the streets, it is simple we need to arrest all those people who have weapons and supply them."
Matias Martinez- "What are you going to do in this situation, you and another officer are patrolling, when two people start following you with phones out."
Colton Cah- "Asking scenario questions now huh? Well first we will get to safety and call for more units to get to our location. If we cannot get to safety just run and call backup."
Matias Martinez- "How about this one, at least 5 masked people come out of nowhere and go after two other officers and you, what would you do?
Colton Cash- "Honestly you just run at that point. Thats what you are told in training, and it is the safest thing to do."
Matias Martienz- "Well, that is all the questions I have for you. What do you have to tell the viewers to make them feel safer?"
Colton Cash- "We will keep you guys safe, trust me, we will catch these violent people."
Matias Martinez- "I hope you keep your word."
