What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
Shrine Priest
What is your motivation for applying?
My motivation for joining is to explore a different style of roleplay beyond just GangRP and CrimeRP. I’ve noticed a recent decline in that type of RP, while more people are starting to experiment with other roleplay situations and careers in SRP. This opportunity feels like the best fit for me, especially since I’m returning after being away for about a year. I’m genuinely passionate about this and hope you’ll take the time to consider and read my application.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
I don't have much knowledge and I'm really looking forward to see a different side of SRP with RP that I haven't ever done or explored so I am so ready to learn more about the Religion.

Age 0 - Birth (July 1st, 1994):
Anno Stark is born to a wealthy family in Moscow, Russia. His family includes his parents, a brother named Jericho Mikhailovich Park-Stark (later known as Karl), and a mother and father. Due to infidelity between his parents, there's uncertainty regarding Anno's nationality and race, although it's known he is part Russian.
Age 6 - Elementary School:
Anno attends an excellent elementary school in Russia, where he begins his education. His early years are marked by academic promise and a close bond with his brother Karl.
Age 16 - Tragedy Strikes:
Anno is 16 years old when tragedy strikes. Both of his parents pass away under mysterious circumstances, leaving him and Karl deeply saddened and angered. Disillusioned with the foster care system and suspecting foul play in their parents' deaths, the brothers decide to escape foster care and flee to Karakura, Japan, seeking a fresh start and answers.
Age 16-21 - New Life in Japan:
Anno and Karl arrive in Japan and settle in Karakura, a bustling city filled with opportunities and challenges. They find a small house together in a modest neighborhood and enroll in Karakura High School. Anno expresses his aspiration to become a KPD officer, inspired by his desire to bring justice to a world that has failed him. Meanwhile, Karl harbors dreams of becoming a renowned reporter, eager to uncover the truth behind their parents' demise.
Age 18 - High School Graduation:
Karl graduates from Karakura High School at the age of 18, receiving accolades for his academic achievements and his compassionate nature. Meanwhile, Anno, having been delayed in his education due to the family's upheaval, is already 21 years old, determined to catch up and pursue his dreams despite the setbacks.
Age 21-25 - Pursuing Higher Education:
Anno throws himself into his studies, fueled by a desire to excel and make a difference. He graduates from college with decent grades, which serve as a stepping stone for his ambitious pursuits. Determined to gain the necessary qualifications for his desired career, Anno embarks on a rigorous academic journey, earning his Ph.D. in criminology and a master's degree in forensic science by the age of 25. His relentless dedication and thirst for knowledge earn him respect among his peers and mentors.
Age 26 - Applying to KPD:
At 26, Anno finally applies to become a KPD officer, eager to serve the community and uphold the principles of justice and integrity. However, his idealism is soon shattered as he witnesses firsthand the systemic corruption and misconduct within the police force. Disillusioned and grappling with a crisis of conscience, Anno begins to question his path and search for alternative avenues to enact change.
Age 26-30 - Embracing the Life of Crime:
Driven by a sense of disillusionment and a desire for belonging, Anno makes the fateful decision to join a local gang, seeking camaraderie and purpose in the underworld of Karakura. His natural aptitude for combat and strategic thinking quickly earn him respect and admiration within the gang's ranks. Despite the moral ambiguity of his actions, Anno finds a sense of fulfillment and empowerment in his newfound identity as a criminal.
Age 30 - First Arrest:
Anno's criminal activities eventually catch up with him, resulting in his arrest for possession of illegal weapons during a botched raid on a rival gang's territory. Facing incarceration, Anno defiantly refuses to seek bail, opting instead to spend five months in jail as a form of self-imposed penance and reflection. Behind bars, he grapples with the consequences of his choices and contemplates his future path.
Age 30 - Karl's Engagement and Success:
During Anno's incarceration, Karl experiences significant personal and professional growth. He forms meaningful connections with his peers, including his fiancé Allen, and dedicates himself to his studies, ultimately earning a Ph.D. in journalism. Karl's resilience and determination serve as a source of inspiration for Anno, who finds solace in his brother's unwavering support and belief in his potential.
Age 30 - Anno's Release and Return to Gang Life:
Upon his release from jail at the age of 30, Anno confronts the harsh realities of his choices and the precariousness of his circumstances. Despite the stigma of his criminal record, he chooses to embrace his identity as a member of the Mōichido gang, reaffirming his allegiance to his comrades and the underworld that has become his refuge. As he navigates the treacherous waters of organized crime, Anno grapples with the conflicting forces of loyalty and self-preservation, determined to carve out a place for himself in a world defined by violence and betrayal.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS
How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
Anno moves through the shrine grounds with a deliberate softness, as if he’s careful not to disturb the silence. For him, these gravel paths aren’t a place to project power or authority—they are an anchor. Given the weight of everything he’s walked through, he treats the shrine’s traditions as a necessary discipline, a way to keep the older, sharper parts of himself in check. He doesn't just follow the rules; he finds a quiet kind of sanctuary in them.
When a visitor stops him to ask for directions, Anno doesn't offer a practiced, empty smile. Instead, he gives them his full, quiet attention, speaking in a tone that carries the weight of his academic roots tempered by a very real, very human weariness. He’s the person who notices a flickering lantern or a stray leaf and fixes it without being asked, preferring to let the rhythm of his work speak for him. With the rest of the staff, he isn’t much for small talk in the breakroom, but he’s always the first to show up and the last to leave. He doesn't ask for trust; he earns it through the steady, shadow-like consistency of his presence.
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
When faced with a disruptive guest, Anno doesn't just react; he stills himself. There is a flicker of his old life—a flash of heat—but he meets it with a long, slow breath. He doesn't raise his voice; instead, he uses a tone that is heavy and immovable, like old stone. He tells the guest, firmly but without malice, that this space isn't meant for noise. It’s an invitation to respect the grounds, but it carries the unmistakable weight of a man who knows exactly where the line is.
If the guest pushes back, Anno doesn't snap. He simply occupies the space, stepping in with a presence that is impossible to ignore but avoids being an open threat. He guides them toward the exit with a steady hand and a quiet, relentless patience, treating the disruption like a storm he’s waiting to pass. He isn't worried about his pride or winning the argument; his only goal is to restore the sanctity of the silence. For Anno, walking away to call for help isn't a sign of weakness—it’s the ultimate proof that he’s no longer the man who solves problems with his fists.
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
"My reason for seeking to work at the Monastery stems from a deep personal connection and a desire to give back to a place that has had a big impact on my life. Growing up, I frequently visited the Monastery and sought consolation and guidance in its tranquil surroundings and teachings. For me, the Monastery has served as a light of hope and knowledge, and I am excited to contribute to its legacy. I am passionate about assisting others in discovering the same sense of serenity and purpose that I found here. I hope that by working at the Monastery, I can contribute to its mission and help the community in meaningful ways. In addition, I am eager to learn from the experienced priests and increase my understanding of the Monastery's."
