Level 9
OOC INFORMATION:

Describe your activity on the server:
I have the ability to be very active on the server. I am usually available throughout a majority of the day and night. My time zone is EST, I would say my most active hours online would range from 2pm to 4am. So far in SRP I have mainly focused on CrimeRP and GangRP, using my time to develop a strong understanding of the criminal underworld, as well as the in-character rules that revolve around them. Recently I tried the Shrine Internship, which allowed me to experience new aspects of RP beyond just crime or gang related things.

Specify your Discord username (USER#0000) and if you have a microphone:
My Discord username is demonasuna. I do not have a microphone, but I am highly comfortable using other OOC communication methods to effectively collaborate with my team.

Specify your country of origin and time zone:
I am from the United States, and my timezone is Eastern Standard Time (EST).

What are your motivations in applying for the black market dealer role?:
My motivations for joining the black market revolve around the high risk - high reward aspect of the faction. The amount of secrecy involved within the faction only made it that much more desirable to me once I started to learn about it. I remember as a new player, being completely oblivious that this faction even existed. As I heard people talking about it every now and then, I couldn't help but want to learn more. It ultimately became my most sought out role in the game, I finally had found something I wanted to chase after!

As the years went by I had developed my knowledge of Crime, Combat, and Gang RP. I threw myself into GangRP at the first chance I saw, in hopes of learning these rules and concepts. I'm glad I did too because it is the main reason I am confident enough to write and submit this application.

As my characters journey progressed, she would find herself mimicking traits of black-market dealers. This was around the time I had purchased a collection of custom masks and weapons back in December of 2023. I later found myself running a passion project which was simply to distribute these items without discrimination to the people of Karakura. I made no profit off of anyone, yet the persona the job created for my character was something I felt proud of. I can only imagine how it would make me feel if I were to take it to the next level and do it for real this time. The idea of being able to expand upon what I have already taught myself is what drives me. Some day working along side like minded individuals and helping gangs spread their influence speaks volumes to me and my character.

All in all, I hope I can bring a fresh and perhaps a unique perspective to the faction by using my creativity and experience to help enhance crime and gang efforts on the server, all while operating within the structure of the black-market faction

What helps you to stand out from other applicants & what can you uniquely provide to the team?:
I think I would stand out because I have firsthand experience in running my own underground weapons trade known as "The Red Market", which is ran entirely by me and my characters who make up the Hinata Clan. During my time in this self created role I have been able to provide a service that bring smiles to the criminal / collector community within SRP.

Secondly, I have been able to develop a deeper understanding of how to conduct these dealings in a way that would not only maintain my characters secrecy but also in a way that is as risk free as it can be with the numerous in character threats such as KPD or even a deal gone wrong. I will admit there were many mistakes in the early stages of my progress, but I saw them as opportunities to learn. I developed my strategy and tactical awareness as a result of this.

Finally, I am someone who understands that knowledge and learning via trial and error alone isn't enough. True success in the criminal faction stems from having an understanding that not all interactions are meant to be won. Hence why I have built up my character lore and RP experiences so that at the end of the day I still have something I worked hard to build and can be proud of.

What previous experience do you have in working with a team?:
OOC Experience: I have real life leadership experience in charity organizations, where I ran for and won the position of chapter president. In this role, I was responsible for hosting meetings, planning events, and managing finances, all while coordinating with a legislative team to execute large-scale projects.

IC Experience: In-character, I have held higher-up positions in gangs and have even taken on the lead role in specific lore-based criminal projects. I am comfortable organizing teams, planning strategies, and handling negotiations, all of which I feel would fit well in the BMD role.

What suggestions do you have to help better the crime faction?:
I think that the crime faction is already well structured, but I do think that we should strive for refinement and balance when ever we can. One area that I would personally work on is the combat and rolling system. I play League of Legends religiously and I am very used to game balance changes and evaluating how these changes impact the overall game experience.

My first suggestion is the adjust the rolling system based on age, grade, and role. This would ultimately introduce slight variations in combat RP to make some fights more dynamic.

Next, to accompany my previous statement, I would also highly suggest increasing the KO threshold. Making the minimum for a younger character higher than 3 and further increasing the points as needed as age goes up. Something like a character's role could also play a part in justification for a higher KO threshold.

With these changes I feel it could not only enhance the level of realism on the server but also it could make fights feel less reliant on chance and more geared towards who can attain a clear advantage within the fight. Things like good tactics and planning will feel more useful and rewarding for those who use them.

Lastly, with the changes to the custom item rules no longer allowing custom weapons to be made I would also additionally propose an in-character method to attain a fresh look to players arsenals. It is to my understanding that many of the Black-Market members have been able to bring something new to the table and I would personally love to work with staff to set up something that is both fair and enjoyable for the community. This would also be a great fit for my character as it is written in her lore that she has personally delt with an organization outside of the Black Market that creates and sells custom weapons.

Are you familiar with all rules pertaining to weapon profiles, combat, permissions, and player conduct on the server?:
Yes, I have read the rules and gained an understanding of all the rules related to weapon profiles, combat, permissions and player conduct.

Are you familiar with that if you leave the black market at any point, the black market lead will have permanent kill permissions on your character?:
Yes, if my character were to leave the black market they would only pose as a loose end for the organization.

Are you familiar with that if your character(s) is/are killed or permanently arrested twice, you will be removed from the black market?:
Yes, I plan on maintaining my secrecy within the organization for this exact reason.

Are you familiar with that you cannot reveal any out-of-character plans or potential addition to the black market to others?:
Yes, when working in a roleplay environment it is crucial that we do all that we can to prevent meta gaming and maintain the level of knowledge people would realistically have in the settings we create!

Describe your character's appearance to the greatest detail:
Asuna Hinata is a striking young woman with black and red dyed hair that falls past her shoulders, her scarlet, brown eyes hold a cold yet calculating gaze, hardened by betrayal and loss. Her lean but athletic build reflects years of combat training, and her movements are always precise, like a blade waiting to strike. She dresses in a mix of traditional and modern attire: fitted red pants, a black haori, and fingerless biker gloves that hide the callouses from her years of training with a katana. A small silver ring on her left hand.

Describe your character's personality to the greatest detail:
Asuna is dangerously intelligent and fiercely loyal to those who earn her trust. Her years in the Red Market taught her all she knows, to an outsider they might just see a life of crime but she knows the true value in the skills she has attained over the years. Asuna is eager and always looking for the chance to get a leg up on those who oppose her. Never once backing down from a fight, Asuna is the type to instigate in an attempt to bring any threats into the light. It is then where she likes to strike, swiftly like a blade cutting trough the air she moves with the upmost precision.

When it comes to family, Asuna prioritizes the one she created over her true blood. Perhaps it's because they are all out to kill her at the moment. . .

Describe your character's backstory to the greatest detail: (200+ words minimum)
Asuna Hinata was born into the Hinata clan in the outskirts of Shibuya Japan. Her clan was well known for their efforts to restore citizens rights to protection along with the right to own a weapon for defensive purposes. The Hinata clan was so sure that one day everything they fought and debated for would some day come true, they primitively began to develop their own weapons which they had planned to legally sell to the public once the rush in demand was circulating throughout Japan. Asuna, along with her many siblings, would train day in and day out within the comfort and safety of their rather large estate. The elders of the clan wouldn't let the children out into the public out of fear of the radical judgment that seemed to plague the family. Asuna and her siblings grew up walled in, they had aunts and uncles teaching them basic school subjects.

One day, a local official would drop off a notice at the Hinata Estate that stated a denial for all the requests they had been putting in. Asuna's eldest brother Hisoka was the most enraged out of anyone else in the clan. He begged his father to do something, but it was of no use. It was Hisoka who took matters into his own hands and created "The Red Market". Asuna was then forced into a life of illegal underground weapons trade. Starting out with modifications to what Hisoka would craft in the forge then eventually moving on to selling the finalized products in the darkest corners of the streets.

Asuna didn't mind this life however, it paid well and every now and then she got to fight someone, (which she loves). It wasn't until the Red Market decided to expand its influence around the rest of Japan that Asuna started having second thoughts. At 16 she was assigned to Karakura Japan. A rather small island which seemed easy enough to manage for a girl her age. But she would soon learn that this city had way more to offer than what was present on the surface. She would bear witness to all sorts of crime and violence, to a scale that she had never seen before. One night, walking home from school she passed by what looked to be an old run down powerplant. A few degenerates lurking at the entrance and calling her names. Asuna stopped at the entrance to her apartment and shouted back at the crowd of masked people. She soon found herself surrounded and eventually, it was lights out.

Asuna woke up to her friend holding an icepack to the back of her head, he then began to explain how things really work in Karakura. Asuna was so angry with the world, having to live next to the place of her humiliation. It was right then that she vowed to climb to the top of the city and prove to all the outsiders who knew nothing of the real reason she was there, that she was indeed someone to fear. Asuna pushed fourth putting on an act of a low life street thug while she worked for the Red Market in the shadows. Joining gang after gang, life was truly simple back then but every day she would think about the promise she made to herself. Asuna was fighting what felt like an eternal battle.

Eventually, sometime around college Asuna fell in love for the first time. She would be reminded that she didn't need to fight anymore and after many months she finally decided to give up on her goal. Days turned to months and months turned to years since the day she walked away from the Red Market. She naturally assumed her clan was already hitting the big leagues with the help of Hisoka and so, perhaps they didn't miss her. Asuna made a trip back home to Shibuya to find this out for herself. Upon her arrival she was met with a stern glare from all the elders of the clan, and who was standing beside them? No one other than Hisoka of course. . .

"You have guts showing your face around here after you've chosen to abandon us." One of the elders said. With a look of shock Asuna looked over to Hisoka and exclaimed, "So... You've managed to get the entire clans support for your immoral deeds?"

Without a response Asuna's other siblings emerged from the shadows and into the moonlight, all sporting the Red Market attire along with their weapons of choice. "Asuna, please just get out of here and never come back. I don't want to be the one that kills you!" The shaken voice coming from one of her younger sisters Jibril. Asuna simply smiled at Jibril before turning back to Hisoka and the elders. "Let the games begin, y'know where to find me." And with that, Asuna walked back out of the front gates of her family estate for the last time.

Describe an interaction that your character may have as a black market dealer: (This can be anything — a weapon deal, an event they may be involved in, or maybe an interaction with a gang)

"Faker, you got the shipment?"

Faker smirked, leaning against the back of the dimly lit warehouse. The gang member in front of her, one of Parabellums more eager recruits, was visibly anxious, shifting from foot to foot as he eyed the wooden crate at her feet.

Inside, a shipment of modified katanas, serrated at the edge for deeper wounds, crafted for only the most sadistic of warriors.

She crouched down, tapping her fingers against the crate. "You bring the cash?"

The recruit hesitated before pulling out a stack of bills that seemed rather new, crisp, and far too clean for the hands of a street thug. Faker's eyes flicked to the corner of the warehouse, where a figure lurked in the shadows. A setup.

She sighed, shaking her head. "You Red Market bastards really think I wouldn’t notice?"

In one swift motion, she kicked the crate forward, the force knocking the recruit off balance. Before they could react, her katana was at their throat, the tip pressing just enough to draw a thin line of blood.

"Tell your boss I’m coming for them," she taunted, her voice deadly calm. "And next time? Bring someone better."

Describe any other additional information that is notable in considering your character for the role of a black market dealer: (If inapplicable, put N/A)

Asuna’s deep understanding of the weapons trade makes her an ideal black market dealer, capable of not only selling but customizing and modifying weaponry.

Her personal vendetta against the Red Market gives her a unique, revenge-driven motivation, making her more invested than a typical arms dealer.

Her ties to her past organizations provide valuable gang connections, further expanding the black market’s influence.
