What is your motivation to lead a club within the school?
Ever since I joined the Karakura Occult Club, I’ve been the skeptical voice, countering ghost stories with electromagnetic theory, proposing natural explanations for the unexplained, and insisting on evidence-based reasoning. While some have called me a "Megane trope", some logic-driven, emotionally flat science nerd, I’m much more than a stereotype. I'm fully committed to the responsibilities of leadership, and I value both reason and community. Now that I’ve handed over the Occult Club to Teresa Keating, I’m excited to create a new space: a revival of the classic Science Club.
Science doesn’t have to be tedious, long-winded, or boring. We can create a lab space that brings students together around microscopes, mineral cabinets, astro-surveillance, chemistry kits, and SOTA-computers. And lab rats of course! Lot's of lab rats! It will be a niche for the non-esoteric nerds, those who want to anaIyze fingerprints, build potato batteries, or debate chemical properties. I envision a collaborative club where curiosity meets experimentation! My previous experience as Club Management Assistant, Vice Lead, and Club Lead has prepared me to run SCIENCE Club successfully.
My goal is to build a club that blends real-world learning, student-led research, and eccentric nerd culture. From quirky science jokes to simulated government conspiracy tech, I want our members to feel proud of their brains and the odd things they do with them. We’ll conduct safe experiments, publish our findings, and maybe cure the nerd loneliness epidemic. Or at least figure out why our lab rats keep escaping.
Why should you be chosen over other applicants?
I bring leadership experience, consistency, and genuine enthusiasm for science. I have a strong record managing my previous club and my academic, focused personality makes me a fitting representative for our clubs mission. I’m confident in my ability to run a stable and engaging (and productive) club.
Read up on my motivation and qualifications in this issue of the local school journalism magazine!

Club Name: The Karakura SCIENCE Club (STEM Cooperative Institute for Experiments, Nature, Curiosity, and Education)
Club Summary (75 words):
SCIENCE Club is a home for physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, medicine, engineering, math, computer science, and forensics. We offer hands-on experiments, logic puzzles, forensic roleplay, and nerdy debates. From elephant toothpaste to mock government tech projects, we thrive on curiosity and collaborative inquiry. The club values critical thinking, exploration, and academic passion. We build a community for smart, curious, and sometimes very weird students. We're here to experiment, question, and geek out over invisible molecules!

Former Discord
This Discord Server was established before we knew about the new application rules.

Minimum Five Student Members:
Student Councillor Supervisor: Pending assignment
Membership Requirements:
- Must be Grade 10+ or show maturity
- Interest in science, critical thinking, or experimentation
- Attend at least one event per quarter (every 3 months)
- One Activity Strike per ignored scheduling announcement
- Willing to participate in group roleplay and projects
- Follow IC and OOC safety guidelines during lab RP
Events:
1. School-Wide Event "Annual Science Fair"
A full-campus event where teams build and present scientific demos, volcano models, solar ovens, lightning rods, pet maze tests. Members and volunteers help students prep over weeks. Booths are judged on spectacle, safety, and RP. Finalists receive prizes and certificates. (I'm looking forward to providing the club customs for that.)
2. Flash Event "Murder High: The Science of Crime"
A weekend mock-forensics RP where students investigate a fictional murder across school grounds. They'll collect evidence, anaIyze clues, and test mock blood, prints, and fiber samples. It’s interactive, educational, and encourages detailRP in a CSI-style narrative. And maybe... the killer... is still on the dance floor.
3. Club Activity "Astronomy Night"
On-campus stargazing using telescope stations on the school roof. Members guide participants through visible stars, planets, and constellations. A mix of narration, detailRP, and observation roleplay, designed to welcome new members, applicants, and greenies in general.
Optional: Club Outfits
Members may receive anti-static, chem-resistant lab coats for certain experiments. We plan to collaborate with skin designers to provide gender-diverse, seasonal outfits for club-specific RP and events.
