[Verified Business Application] - ACCEPTED
What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
~ A large part of my motivation for applying to be a reporter is my love and interest in interviewing others and asking questions about others professions.
These interests especially help me understand one's creative process along with how they became an established person in society like music or any other profession out there.
~ Interviewing others will also help me expand my social circle on this server which is another part of my motivation to apply for this role.
Being confined to the same circle of people has gotten old and I am very interested in meeting new people and making new connections with others.
~ I also feel like this role could really help me on improving my writing and graphic design skills as a whole.
Putting these skills in practice could help me garner experience and further push my limits.
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
Despite the fact that English and Writing has commonly been my worst subject in school, my relationship with writing is more tight-knit compared to the people around me.
I use my struggles as a form to seek improvement, I consistently ask tutors and people to give me pointers and criticize my writing to see what I could do to do better next time.
Knowing that sometimes I struggle to convey my emotions and thoughts through other forms, I use writing as a way to communicate ideas with others.
English wasn't my first language, so writing wasn't always my strong suit, but I seek to remove that struggle and be distinguished in writing altogether.
Currently, I am writing a concept for an album I plan on making further in the future, not just lyrics but the idea, the theme, and the story.
It serves as a way I could express myself with thought put into it by writing the whole thing out before committing to it fully so I could get the whole scope of things.
Since music is considered a form of story telling, writing is a huge part of it.
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
I have carefully read through all guidelines and rules for SRP and the Reporter role.
I will follow all rules and keep up with all rules as stated.
Why should we accept you over others?:
I fully believe that I am an overall better candidate over the other applicants that are currently applying. I believe this is true because of the dedication and drive like no other to fully embrace this role as a reporter. Though this would be my first 'official' faction that I would be apart of, I think I'll bring something to the table that no one else has brought before.
I may be inexperienced and on the newer side but I sure do have newer ideas to bring up and execute. For example, an idea I could bring to life is the idea of using more experimental formats & covering people in town who are on the more unknown/niche side of things. My inexperience in this field will not slow any one down and will not hold my back to any contributions I will make as a reporter.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
I completely understand to stay completely neutral across all reports I make and hereby will have no bias towards any group.
I will strive to inform the people, to not sway them in other directions that are simply based off opinion and not facts.
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
I trust myself to be able to meet the monthly quota consistently. My schedule is fairly clear in terms of the amount of free time I have.
I will especially have time to meet quota since the summer season is about to begin.
Summarize what you imagine work as a reporter is:
I imagine that a reporters work is to continuously search for interesting eye catching scenarios and people that would make an interesting story to write about. I also imagine that reporters connect with whatever they're writing about and present it in an engaging way to give people something to learn and read about. I imagine that reports take all the help they can get whether its hiring people to scout out interesting stories like in Spiderman or getting as many connections to help them cover a topic.
I imagine reporters asking questions, as much questions as they could, conducting several interviews and spending hours researching topics that they're writing about all to make sure that their works are accurate, interesting to others and heavily informative. Some may cover topics that are proven or they cover a persons experience and perspectives to give insights that people may or may have never been able to hear about until today. I can see myself doing all these things as a reporter.

IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it
Full Name:
The noise of fabric rustling pierced the awkward silence that lingered in the air. He didn't know if he should be sitting, standing, or facing the other way. Then, he finally found a comfortable position he could be in, a completely straight standing position with his arms being perfectly straight up from his shoulder all the way down to his waist.
"My Na- Oh. Yesss! My name of course... "
*The sound of his throat clearing echoed throughout the vicinity*
"My name is Adair T. Hattori, the T being there for decorative purposes."
*His posture relaxed a little as he got progressively more comfortable in the current setting. This new chapter he was hoping to enter...*
Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
*He brought his hand up to his face and tapped his cheek with his pointer finger, as if he was trying to remember something that probably doesn't exist. A bit of a cartoonish feel.*
"I prefer... Mister, mhmmm... yep... that sounds professional."
*Then his hand moved back to where it was originally, his face then showed a more deepened expression, contrasting his silly demeanor he carried before.
"I don't think I've received a nickname... unless I can't recall if I ever did. Ill inform everyone if I ever do remember!"
*As he spoke, he slowly returned to his demeanor he had before. His hand that was gently placed on his chin lifted off from it and fell into his pocket, exactly where he originally wanted it to be but he feared that if he started off to 'unprofessional', he'd be called out... but it seems he's forgotten."
Current Age (25+):
*A sharp POP! would echo intensely has the walls bounced the loud, sharp sound back into everyone's ears. His hands were clasped together, a large grin appearing on his face.*
"I'm currently 29, pushing 30.... Wow- uh, next question please!"
*As he spoke, his speech slowed as he thought about his age for a brief moment, pushing 30 was no joke in his mind... his face slowly softened, his smile disappearing before quickly snapping back. He chuckled to himself nervously, quickly brushing off the question.*
Past job/work experience:
*The moment that he'd been dreading has shown up, he almost flinched at the pure utterance of that mashup of words and syllables. A visible twitch appeared in his smile as the question was asked..*
"Work..! Right... Ehmm- I... worked at a friends... lemonade stand. It paid fairly well.... at least at the time. A-Anyway! I have experience in working with other people... that is if school projects is considered work..."
*The entire conversation had him tensed up, sweating pools of swear by the second. A severe question that could determine it all. He let out a large exhale as the entire question was dealt with."
Degree/qualifications:
*A suitcase that sat flat on the ground was lifted up by him, he'd unlock the two golden locks on the front of the suitcase, carefully placing his hand at the base to make sure all the files didn't blow away or fall onto the ground.*
*He reached into the suitcase, shuffling his hand around the inside for a moment before pulling out a file folder containing most of his documentation that he thought was necessary to be brought along with him. He lifted the tab on the file folder, revealing his degrees on the first layer of the folder*
"This is every degree I've earned so far! We've got... Bachelors in.. Communications.. and here we've got... Masters in Journalism!"
Nationality and born location:
*He brought back the file folder back to his face to flip through several pages before landing on the page containing a birth certificate. He'd flip the folder back facing the opposite way from him, placing his finger on the page containing his certificate*
"I'm a Japanese Citizen, born and raised around Takamatsu where me and my siblings were raised."
Phone Number: 030-
*His hand fell back into his pocket before freezing, his eyes shooting up to look around*
"Is it ok to pull out my phone?"
*He didn't move until he got a nod of approval*
"Ye.. Yes? Alright..."
*He pulled out his phone, turning it on and inputting his password before pulling up his own contact information, the screen displaying the number 030-134-1494. He'd place it to where it was visible for all to see.*
How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
*The room fell silent, the only sound that could be heard was the everyone's soft breathing in the room. He stretched his arms a little, he knew it'd take time to answer a question that could affect his overall image to those that are in this very same room. He nodded a little before lifting his head up and meeting everyone's gaze, they were all ready to listen intently.*
"Well, I've been through my fair share of experiences. I feel like every experience we all go through as people is important to shape us and make us who we are. I'd say that every action I commit is done with intent. Every pencil stroke, everything I do always has intention, whether that'd be something as small as eating a potato chip or solving the worlds problems alone. I do not go where the waves of life take me, I swim against it and see what other opportunities are out there other than the path that is already well, as some say, 'set' for me. I'm no pirate cleaning the poop deck going where the captain steers towards... I'm am the captain of my own ship, ready to face against the waves of this life."
What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
*Another familiar silence filled the room for a moment, his head hanging a little has he thought to himself.*
"Well, I'm really interested in writing about people who I believe would grow into something more further in life, its like subscribing to a channel before it blows up. There's something nice about that feeling you know? Appreciating something before it was ever considered worth appreciating."
*He'd smile to himself as he answered... 'God I sound so smart', he said to himself in his head as he spoke. He leaned against the wall slightly, pushing himself back up straight with his hand as he fell back every second or so.*
"Sometimes, you just know when someone is destined to be something more. I have a passion to seek out people who fit that criteria and I want to document and write about them so the people can see who they were before they went big... like an artist, an author, a musician, you know that type of 'big'. That passion will drive me to achieve all of this. If stepping out of my comfort zone means I can document as much people as I can then... that's a no brainer question."
What are your expectations for the job?:
*He'd sway side to side, occasionally stepping over once on accident, he was feeling restless being in the same spot for several minutes.*
"A more in depth understanding of this town and its people. Curiosity always get's the best of me... so being a reporter is my best hands-on source to get several of my unanswered questions... answered! I also want to support myself and others around me so I hope this job is enough to be able to pull it off!"
Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
*The question caught him of guard. Quickly regaining his composure he cleared his throat before speaking aloud*
"I am a Law abiding citizen that abides all laws Twenty-Four Seven! ... Unless you count school punishments..."
*He said as he proudly showed off his clean record of no outstanding crimes committed*
Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
*He took a deep breath before speaking up one final time..*
"I am fluent in Japanese... and uhmm- yeah that's all I got.."
*He raised his hands as if he were told by a police officer to raise his hands up where they could see them.. then shamefully let them fall back down to the sides of his waist. How could he only know one language after 29.. almost 30 YEARS of living.*
