Describe your activity on the server:
As of recent, my activity on the server has improved significantly compared to just a few months ago. I recently applied for council and was accepted, which has definitely boosted how much I log on. That said, outside of school hours, I sometimes struggle to find things to do, when not attending other college events. So I figured, why not take that energy and channel it into another faction?

My sleep schedule can be a bit inconsistent at times, so I can’t guarantee that I’ll always be online at specific hours. The earliest times I’ve listed for weekends are just rough estimates of when I’m typically available and/or on SRP. I'll probably be on earlier than that, but I wouldn’t count on it, since the times I wake up on weekends tend to fluctuate quite a bit. The times I've provided are very general, but I wanted to give at least a rough idea of my availability.

SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
11:00am/12:00pm ~ 10/11:00pm
5/6:00pm ~ 10:00pm

With summer right around the corner, I know myself well enough to say I’ll have a ton of free time before I begin working as a teacher's aide (a whole separate story that future me will have to figure out scheduling wise) once summer ends and school starts in my area. Until then, I can easily see myself being active on SRP as much as possible.

My job now really doesn't restrain me from logging on as much, so I doubt that the new one will be any different.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?
I've been involved in roleplay for a long time—close to eight years now, if not longer—and it's become a meaningful part of my life. In those years, I've developed a variety of different styles, experimenting with new stuff and developing my true adoration of roleplay as whole. Not to mention the few years of creative writing that did me well in high-school.. I think that counts.

Specifically on SRP, I've been active for about two years and have participated in multiple factions. From the KPD, which was my first real introduction to the more structured side of SRP's roleplay system, to the school faction, which represents the more authoritative side of the "school" in SRP and was an incredibly fun and rewarding experience on its own.

Even though the psychiatry department is a bit separate from the more serious medical work, being a psychiatrist made me very aware of how the hospital functions, both from a structural standpoint and from the side of working together with others. I had the opportunity to take part in small medical roleplay from the sidelines, which gave me a solid understanding of how it all flows—the urgency of a broadcast being put out, especially if the situation is of a government worker in serious danger, and the discipline involved—even if I wasn’t necessarily in the moment myself. I'd like to change that fact!

What is your motivation for applying?
My motivation for applying comes from a mix of curiosity and timing. I've always been intrigued by medical roleplay—especially the fast-paced, hands-on situations that bring a whole lot of anxiety, no doubt. Even if not every situation is exactly like that, I'm sure I can find a lot of intrigue in just the basic stuff, as the roleplay opportunities can be endless. Psychiatry was interesting, but it lacked the level of urgency and involvement I personally can enjoy. I find the structure of medical RP really compelling, and I’d love to contribute to that environment now that I have the time and confidence to fully commit.

I know multiple people who are or have been a doctor and/or paramedic for the Karakura Hospital, and I can say without a doubt that they've all done enough convincing for me to try and apply for myself. While I've been rather nervous about applying, especially since I know how anxious I can get under pressure, I'm sure I can learn to adapt and create my own way of dealing with any problems I may have. I'm rather good with adapting, and I'm sure I can put that skill to use when working.

Which role are you applying for?
Doctor

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
As I mentioned before, I worked as a psychiatrist (and briefly as a veterinarian, though not that much) for some time. From helping someone navigate the aftermath of a breakup to identifying signs of an underlying medical condition, psychiatrists play a major role in Karakura’s healthcare system, especially considering how common mental health problems are. Cough.

Through my experience, I became familiar with the roles of doctors, paramedics, and even veterinarians—each with their own unique focus but still working under the same professional umbrella. Doctors specialize in general or surgical care and are responsible for diagnosis, treatment plans, and leading most procedures. Unfortunately, my role did not allow me to serve as a paramedic, but I know they operate in more fast-paced environments, responding to emergencies and helping out patients before they reach the hospital. Veterinarians, though often overlooked, serve an important role in maintaining the health of Karakura's animals, and follow similar standards of care as any other department would.

They also can put down bears. Isn't that cool? Everyone dislikes bears.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes.

What is your character's medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

Nomura is a neurologist, specializing in neurosurgery. She chose this focus because the brain fascinates her; not just as an organ, but as the seat of identity and control. There’s something sacred about touching someone’s mind, and Nomura is drawn to the precision of it. She finds her own sense of beauty in complexity, and the brain is the greatest puzzle one could ever know. Her quiet obsession with the mind also ties to her past—after her ████████ █████ and her ████████ ███████████, the woman became purely fixated on understanding what breaks people and what keeps them alive.

Of course, despite all, it's not like she's corrupt or any of that nonsense, ha-ha.

Growing up, Nomura was a little different compared to the rest of her peers. While others were building pillow and blanket forts our playing outside, she was inside, spending hours of her time on dismantling old electronics, trying to figure out what exactly went on underneath. In school, she was known to rarely speak, but listen well. She "collected" people's tics, their contradictions, somewhat like a scientist collecting samples.

It wasn't that she lacked empathy, or that she felt that those around her were weird for doing normal child-like things. In fact, she felt everything too much, all of the time, too vividly. To cope, she learned to step outside of herself, to observe closely rather than feeling. She learned to break down and reassemble, just as she did with broken circuits of her old walkie talkie. By the time she reached medical school, she knew quite exactly what she was after. Not the adrenaline that comes with emergency rooms, but something colder and cleaner: the structure beneath. Working with the brain is what brings her something similar to reverence, and it's exactly what she feels drawn to. In a way, she always has, she just didn't know the specifics of her intrigue quite yet.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
She began her career at a quiet hospital on the outskirts of Kyoto, where she worked for two years after completing her residency. The hospital was underfunded but offered her a kind of freedom to work with fewer eyes watching. Whilst working there, she developed her surgical skills and began having a reputation for handling a series of different neurological cases, big and small. But something happened during her second year—something that never made it into her official records. A patient of hers—

The rest of the sentence appeared to be covered by white-out.

She resigned without failure, moved to Karakura, and found a position at a newer, more prestigious hospital. The transition was seamless—her record spotless, her past scrubbed clean, but the very few people who knew her back then say she wasn’t the same after that.

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

She is a lean shell of a woman, her posture inviting and delicate. The woman has long, pin-straight hair, black as a raven's feathers, falling sleekly down her back. Cutting across her face is a thin, diagonal scar, beginning at her forehead and running downward to just above her upper lip. Her eyes, a deep and unnatural crimson, are the product of custom contact lenses. Despite them, she wears thin half-rimmed glasses on the tip of her nose—whether they're for her vision or just for show is for you to discover on your own time. Her hands are steady, and she's unmistakably calm, like a statue in its wake.

Others perceive Nomura with a mix of awe and a certain wariness. Honestly, it depends on what kind of person you are. You either like her because she's the classic mysterious, nonchalant type—which, let's be real, is kind of not only common, but pretty 'cool' to the people of Karakura—or you're unsettled by her for the exact same reason. I mean, would you really want to be in the same room as her while she has a scalpel in hand? I know I wouldn't.

To patients, she's a cold kind of comfort—someone who seems detached from all around her but also very competent, like she already knows everything that will happen along every step of the way. She never tries too hard with sympathy, never fakes her warmth, but her specific type of honesty can almost people feel safe, in some strange sort of way.

To colleagues, Nomura is a mystery. Her work is flawless, her decisions are sharp, and her demeanor is controlled—a little too controlled. She hardly socializes. She doesn't flinch. She keeps her words clinical and short. No one really knows what she wants, which makes people nervous. Most wouldn't cross her—not because she's cruel or scary, but because they know she remembers everything, and her silence isn't empty.

It's watching.

How does your character act around the hospital?
Around the hospital, Nomura moves like she's part of the architecture—silent, composed, and oddly smooth in her stillness. She's not chatty, nor is she the type to grab coffee in the break room and chit-chat with those around her. Her presence is precise—almost like she never fully steps out of the surgery room. Honestly, who's to say she even leaves the hospital at all? (She doesn't.) Professionalism means a lot to the woman, and there's a lot of that evident in the way that she carries herself as a person overall. She's punctual to the second: there's not a droplet of wasted energy in her words or actions. Nomura has the capability of making conversation, and will if she's approached, but never more than necessary.

Despite all of that, she's still respectable as a woman, and as a doctor, especially since she does her best to do her job just as it is intended to be done.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Nomura tends to function better as a person when she's own her own. While she has the ability to work with others, she prefers to work solo. She doesn’t trust easily and believes most people are too emotional, too impulsive to make clean decisions. Nomura is methodical and private. Every choice she makes is calculated. Every interaction is measured.

To her, running alone isn't a choice—it's a necessity, and it is exactly how she keeps everything under control, including herself.
