IGN (In-Game Name):
My IGN is ShadCoffeh

What is your discord username?:
And my discord username is shads7

What is your timezone?:
My timezone is Central Standard Time (or CST for short), and I live in the wonderful Canadian lands!

Describe your activity on the server:
If I had to rate my activity... I'd probably give it a 9.5/10. I'm on SRP almost every single day, unless I have some sort of plans or something like that. . . But besides that, I'm on SRP practically almost every day, for long periods at a time! Lately I've been getting on anything from 10 (or 11) am to 2-4 am! Sometimes maybe a bit sooner or a bit later, but not by too much lately!

(I realized all of the denied kind of put me in a bad spot... TwT)

What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
I'm attempting to apply for the 'Priest' (or well 'Shinkan') position!

What is your motivation for applying?
Many things motivate me! One of them is mainly I wish to engage in more roleplay experiences, and the shrine has always been a peaceful, relaxing and just overall favorite place of mine to go to! Another reason is that I wish to bring out more confidence in myself by engaging into some roleplay experiences like this!! And I wish to meet and interact with more people in general by working here at the shrine! I do engage in some roleplay on the server, but it's nothing too crazy nor serious... So, I wish to at least try to get into this faction to be able to interact and roleplay with more people! Which I officially started roleplaying back in 2020 (so roughly 5 years ago and probably a few months too) is when my first attempt at roleplaying happened, I used to roleplay with people on YouTube and also did quite a bit of roleplaying on an app called 'Amino' for a little while, but I was mainly roleplaying on YouTube for about two-three years, I believe. I also did some roleplaying on Roblox like Royal High, Bloxburg and ext.

Then in October of 2023, I found SchoolRP and began playing again, so I've been roughly playing for a year and about 8 months now! So rather if I do or don't have as much roleplay experience as some others, I'm always willing to try out new styles or types of roleplays! To say that I've given them a try, to try out new experiences and something out of my comfort zone, like interacting with a bunch of people! Trying out a new style or type of roleplay with the Shrine.

What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
I've heard and knew that Shintoism has something to do with believing in spiritual things, I believe something along the lines of believing in spirits or like the resurrection of the dead. I think. . . I don't know too much about Shintoism, so if what I said was wrong than I deeply apologize! I would love to learn more about Shintoism, I've always been interested in learning new things from different cultures in the world.

[ WARNINGS: Child neglection, LGBTQ hating (?), troubles accepting oneself, low self-esteem, horrible parenting, calling names/bullying ]
Chapter One: 'Childhood.'
Shadrack grew up in a lovely town in Germany, he was an only child that only grew up with his parents. His family didn't really have many relatives at all, so there wasn't much visiting's from his family, neither his father nor mother's side of the families. But Shadrack wasn't too offended or saddened by this, truth is... He had always been a shy, quiet kid. He never really spoke much to people and was always often found reading in the library, alone to himself. He never spoke much to people at all, so you rarely had any friends at all... Except for maybe one or two. Even when he got a bit older, he was still incredibly shy and never said much to others. Shadrack's parents didn't like that overly, they wanted a more outgoing, confident child who could make friends with almost everyone. . .

Since his parents believed that if Shadrack had made or gotten a bunch of friends that they could take care of him instead of them. Shadrack was just too shy and was more focused in books and studying, so he rarely made any friends at all. Basically, his parents didn't like that one bit, sometimes they would force him to socialize with others or make him have friends with people, he didn't always like. Shadrack most days took care of himself, since his parents often neglected him or would even forget that he's an actual person. So, when it came to breakfast, getting himself ready for the day (or well for school), using the bathroom and ext. He all took care of that by himself at his young age, whilst his parents just focused on themselves or would work all day long.

Chapter Two: 'Troubles with Accepting Oneself.'
When Shadrack was about ten years old, he had discovered about LGBTQ+ and its community, once he first thought about it, he thought he was an ally. As a young kid, it was hard and he didn't think much about his interests in romance too often, as he was still quite young. Once he had discovered LGBTQ, he had asked his parents what they thought about it and his parents looked as him as if they had just heard the most disgusting and disturbing thing ever. They questioned Shadrack if he was one of those gays or a '***', Shadrack had no clue what they were going on about... He had just discovered LGBTQ recently and it didn't look like a bad thing, even if that's what his parents claimed it was.

A little bit before Shadrack was entering his teenage years, he really started to think about himself and figure out what he liked. He did begin to realize that girls weren't really what he was interested in, but guys were always something he found himself attracted too. . . Then he started questioning about what his parents would say or do, if he tells them and he remembers what they told him when he was ten years old. So, he figured he could hide those thoughts and feelings from his parents, he didn't really need to tell them that and Shadrack knew better than to upset his parents, he didn't want to always deal with them yelling and just tearing him down, not again. . .

Despite being a quiet kid, no matter what Shadrack did or how he got good grades for his work, they always seemed to tear down what little confidence Shadrack already had. His parents often yelled at him, sometimes they would yell at him for being too much of a crybaby or 'sensitive freak' and they would often complain that it isn't manly for him to be so gosh darn sensitive, almost all of the time. They picked and pretty much hated everything about Shadrack, no matter if it was a very little thing to something more. They just hated everything about him. EVERYTHING.

Some days, it made Shadrack dreaded to even wake up in the morning sometimes, it was always the same thing over and over again. They almost always figured out a new thing to throw at Shadrack, a new way to hurt his core without evening causing any physical pain. This was becoming a daily thing for Shadrack to wake up to, to feel, to experience, to live. It all did eventually break down Shadrack, he ended up crying in his room till his head started hurting and until his vision was blurry with tears... When Shadrack was in his room or in his books, it is the only way, he's free to be himself and not the forgotten or neglected child that his parents didn't take care of for the past years. Shadrack was his own person, with his own feelings and thoughts, but he thought that just maybe... His parents didn't understand or see that. Deep down, he still had some hope, some pray that they would change when he gets older.

Chapter Three, Part One: 'Why Did I Tell Them?'
Shadrack was in his early teens now, he had been keeping the secret that he's gay now for at least one-two years now. He had thought that his parents would've figured it out themselves by now, but then again... They don't really pay attention to Shadrack much at all, very little they ever did. Shadrack finally figured 'screw it', he might as well tell them because he knew deep down that they would find out some day, some shape or form they would peace together that they're 'dear' son is gay. As Shadrack sat in his room one night, coming up with a plan on how to explain this to his parents without pissing them off too much that he's disturbing and wasting their time with his talking.

As the day came for Shadrack to finally tell his parents the truth about what he discovered about himself a while ago, he was expecting to get a big slap to the face for telling his parents that he was gay... He didn't expect to be yelled at to get the hell out of their house. He scrambled up to his room to quickly grab some stuff, they yelled after him saying something along the lines of; 'You better be out of my house before the sunset comes down.', Shadrack didn't really bothered to listen to them yelling at him from downstairs, he focused on grabbing his stuff as he felt tears falling down his face. I guess in a small part of mind, he honestly hoped that it would've gone better than this. . . He always dreamed and hoped that he could have a perfect, loving family like most people have.

Once he finished grabbing a few items from his room, he snuck downstairs and quickly grabbed a few snacks... Before running out of the front door, without a goodbye, but he knew his parents wouldn't have cared if he even said goodbye or not. Shadrack ran and ran, until his grew tired of running... It was growing dark out and this would be his first night on the streets. . . With no place or home to run back to for shelter. As he moved along a building, running his finger along the stone bricks as he felt the first few drops of rain starting to cry out from beyond the sky. . . It's like nature knew what he was feeling deep down and inside.

Chapter Three, Final Part: 'On the Streets.'
As the rain picked up, Shadrack moved down leaning against the building's wall before sinking down to the growing damp ground... He reached into his backpack and pulled out a small blanket that he took for himself, he wrapped it around himself for comfort and a small 'protection', even though it didn't do anything against the rain. Though the blanket was a small comfort for Shadrack, his mind was racing with a million thoughts as he sat in the rain with only a blanket covering him from the rain, besides the light hoodie he was wearing. He knew sleep nor eating were not going to happen tonight, he just couldn't sleep at all and he wasn't really feeling hungry. He knew he always was on the skinnier side of things, and he remembers how his parents used to always complain about that, saying how he should eat more to become more in shape and manly.

I guess the nice thing about being out of the house is that he finally got away from all of their yelling, complains and all that. He didn't have to listen to them anymore, but he was still frightened and lonely to be out here all alone, with nobody but himself. . . Just the nothingness of it all. As Shadrack was out in the streets, he didn't really beg for food or for money, he rather try earning it and getting it himself, he didn't want to bother or waste anybody's time by making them stop and just ask them for money or food.

Shadrack just didn't like bothering anybody and well his parents made it pretty clear that his whole existence was a bother to them and maybe everyone too. Whilst Shadrack was walking along a sidewalk one night, a lady had run into him. They both took a tumble, Shadrack quickly apologized a few times to the lady, which the lady insisted that it was fine and that it was her fault because she was paying more attention on her phone, rather than reality. Shadrack and the lady started talking for a bit, before the lady had to go. . . Shadrack noticed she had forgotten something on the ground, he picked it up and turned around to run after and give it back to the lady, but she was nowhere in sight... It was almost like she had completely vanished. Shadrack looked down at the item in his hands, a plane ticket to somewhere called. . . Karakura?

Shadrack was deeply confused, had this possibly been on purpose? Had she seen that he needed a new place to go to? To get away? To find a new home there? Rather it was on purpose or not, Shadrack felt grateful to have this opportunity to get out of this town that once was his home, before he was left to take care of himself out here. Shadrack packed up what little few things he had, walked up to the airport and waited for the plane to get ready to be boarded. He's very ready to start a brand-new life in Karakura, his new place to call home.

Chapter Four: 'Karakura.'
Upon arrival at Karakura, Shadrack quickly grew fascinated with all of Karakura's lovely sights, and he especially fell in love with the shrine. The shrine was something like an 'inner beauty' to Shadrack, everything about the shrine was just beautiful. It made him at peace and like he had somewhere that he could belong. As Shadrack settled into Karakura and got his first apartment, he took his time to unpack and just unravel his thoughts that he's in Karakura, his new place and home! It took a bit to settle in completely, but it didn't take too long for him to find peace at his new home.

Shadrack had been in Karakura for a couple of months before meeting Oksana Zakirova who took Shadrack in and adopted him to be her own son. Shadrack's heart felt whole again at now being a part of a family who he truly loves and is proud to call his family. Shadrack cherishes and likes to keep his families and friends close! Which after becoming a Zakirov, whilst sitting at the shrine staring at a little pond, he chatted with a lady called, Ivy in which, they formed a bound and quickly became close friends! Which considering they grew a bound so quickly, some of Shadrack's brothers would tease them that they're 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend', but that's a bit impossible when they're both gay. . .

Anyways, after being in the Zakirov family for a while, Shadrack had heard that two of his siblings passed away recently and that one of his older brothers is now out of town for a vacation, after one thing happens after another... Shadrack fell into a depressive state, the once shy and quiet male became and grew even more silent, his clothing turned darker and dull as he entered an 'emo' state because of his sadness for his fallen siblings.

Chapter Five: 'Healing and Coping.'
Everyone heals differently and at their own pace, right? And everyone has their own ways in coping... Shadrack's coping is photography, being with friends and family or well, just anything that's relaxing and enjoyable for him. He's been trying to go to the shrine more often or well as often as he can, just to settle down and relax, a place and spot where he can find peace. It took a bit of time for Shadrack to heal after finding out about his fallen siblings, but he did eventually heal, it just took time to process and find his inner peace after that.

Whilst healing or after he had healed, he began focusing more on things that made him happy like being there at the shrine. And he did start taking care of himself more again... After he healed, he realized it's good to take care of others, but it's also incredibly important to take care of himself as well as others. Now he's focused on healing and fixing his mental health for the better of himself and others. And now, here he is, trying to work at the shrine, trying to grow the confidence, he never really had.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦

How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
Shadrack is quiet, polite and respectful when it comes to the shrine grounds. He enjoys the peacefulness and the nature all around the shrine, nature has always been one of Shadrack's favorite things about the shrine. Because the nature is like the shrine's inner and outer beauty that marks the shrine's grounds.

Shadrack keeps to himself usually, but he means well. He respects people's boundaries and choices; he's the type to believe that most people deserve a second chance in things. Shadrack is all about manners, he bows and often says, 'thank you' to others... He loves to be kind and caring to others, sometimes he might even offer people sweet treats like cookies, slices of cakes and more, in order to cheer up someone! Some might also say that he's often prepared for anything, having some siblings (not blood related) of his own, he's seen a lot of things and tries his best to understand others. When it comes to comforting, he's more of a listener than anything, he'll always be there to listen, when or if somebody needs it.

Guests
Despite Shadrack being quiet and kind of reserved, he is quite kind to everyone and will always be there to listen to others when it's needed! When getting to know him or opening up to him, others can see that he's open and honest when it comes to certain opinions on things. He's also the type of guy that's more atone to nature and books, often is seen in the public library or at home, reading a book. He also tries to keep people calm and happy as best as he can! He'll always be there for someone, and he doesn't mind answering any questions (unless it's something personal or something that makes him uncomfortable. . .)

Staff
Shadrack is kind, collected and overall calm usually, he's not the type to get angry often. He's quite respectful and kind with both staff and guests, he's even and tries to be kind with everyone. Shadrack is careful and thoughtful when it comes to his own or other people's actions, he's caring to the point that he might even share treats and even tea with others!! Besides all of that, he also is quite a quiet guy and typically keeps his eyes on things in silent respect.

Scenario

(A scenario of how Shadrack might act at the shrine or well in general...)
Shadrack was enjoying the evening breeze that was blowing blissfully through the shrine, it seemed like a fairly peaceful day, he thought to himself as he was watering some of the nearby plants all around the shrine, making sure they're taken care of and kept healthy. Once he was done, he helped clean up some of the shrine, making sure it was nice and tidy for whenever guests decided to show up! Once he finished, he settled down at a spot somewhere within the shrine, when someone would pass by, he would wave and say, "Good evening" to them with his polite and soothing voice.

You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
As Shadrack's gaze fell upon the person who was running all along the roofs and shrine grounds in general, he spoke up in a slightly firm and calm voice to the person, "Hey! May you please get down? You're disturbing the shrine's peace and you're disrespecting it by jumping across those roofs. So, can you please come down and relax?" He would say, being as polite and respectable as he can, making sure not to be too loud and disturb anyone else who may be around the shrine or area. He would wait a few moments, waiting for the person to either speak up or move off of the rooftop...

If that didn't work and if they wouldn't listen, Shadrack would likely go up there himself and then get them down safe from the rooftops, give them a small lecture about going onto the rooftops, before letting them go on their way. If they kept going onto the rooftops, then Shadrack would keep a watchful eye out of on them.

Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?

Shadrack needed to heal and needed to find something that would bring him great happiness, working at the shrine has always been a dream for him. It's also where he met his first and only few friends that he has, the shrine has always brought him peace and has guided him to be and get better at certain things that he never thought too much about. Besides his own home, he sees the shrine as almost a second home for himself... As the shrine is a peaceful, beautiful place that keeps him relaxed and happy.

Shadrack wanted to become a priest to find inner peace with himself, to learn, to help out, to cope and heal. After finding out that two of his siblings had passed away and after slipping into depression or 'emo phase', he realized that he would have too eventually move on from this, he knew it would hurt and sting for a while, that it would take time to fully heal... But he doesn't mind and just seeks out to get better... Better for himself and for others. The healing process can be different for everyone, it can take years, months... Maybe more or less even. But Shadrack believed he could heal and he's willing to push himself and take the leap of faith, to try out to be a priest for this shrine.

Shadrack wishes to achieve and learn more about Japan's cultures that may be within the shrine, he wishes to learn and understand more about the cultures held in the shrine and maybe even some of the different cultures within them, he's very intrigued about learning the different like cleansing rituals, more about Shintoism and whatever else he can learn at the shrine. He also just wishes that he'll be able to completely find that inner peace for himself whilst being there!

What are the core values of your character? (OPTIONAL - MORE INFO IN FAQ)
Shadrack likes to believe that loyalty and honesty are some of the best things in someone. Someone who's often kind and faithful are also good qualities too, with being kind, it might mean you're caring and supportive of everyone, no matter what they look and sound like which can be the best medicine for anyone with a healing heart, saying the nicest of things to someone, might make them ease up and feel happy about what they might've heard. Loyalty is good for people who wish to stick and support each other like a team or like family with each other, loyalty can be hard to come by, but if you meet or learn more about someone, you may find it somewhere within.

And well more often than not, Shadrack will always seek and see the good in others, he always believes that people can deserve or get a second chance, when putting in the effort and thought to it. Shadrack also believes that having a respectful or polite mind and behavior, especially within the shrine grounds will get you to be treated a lot better by staff or just certain people. It's always good to be respectful and use manners, when they're needed or preferred.
