Homework

03 JUNE 2025 / By Flay Ming-Akori

Homework: It’s not supposed to be fun, is it?

School is hard as is, and taking work home just adds to the stress. You’d think there would be complaints, but instead, I’ve been noticing students becoming excited and demanding for homework. I’ve never heard of something like that, so I’m going to do a deep dive into why homework is so loved by many.

Why Love it?

It’s Easy Peasy

Three questions at most, three classes a day. Up to nine questions, with school breaks in between. It usually takes me 15 minutes each assignment, and they get graded quickly. The process is fully online and easy to access. All you have to do is show up to class, listen, and boom, perfect grade.

Saying Goodbye

Goodbye highschool, hello college. Fifty credits, fifty good grades until you can graduate. Leaving the Bobcat life behind, and welcoming the Spartan life. More opportunities for sports, friends, and drama. And even getting a Masters degree, PhD, and graduating to become something bigger! Not to mention going to parties where you can legally drink.

Great Uses

For those who like learning, or have a larger goal up ahead, homework is the thing for them! Being able to summarize and answer the big take-a-ways from class is a great way for it to stick. For the future teachers, doctors, lawyers, and reporters out there, homework will sure help get you on the right path for internships. Homework completion shows dedication and hard work, which is perfect for employers to decide who gets a spot on their roster.

An Interview with a Bobcat

Me: “Do you like homework?”

Bobcat: “It’s useful.”

Me: “Why?”

Bobcat: “Graduating.”

Me: “And? Do you like the process?”

Bobcat: “It’s whatever really.”

They seem excited! Go with the flow type energy. Love that for them.

More Homework!

We love Homework! Everyone should be hyped, because teachers and professors are constantly cooking up more. They put time and dedication making and grading homework, so take it easy on them! Thank them and appreciate them, even if they don’t deserve it.
