What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
Since starting my journey on SRP in 2022, I’ve gained so much roleplay experience. It’s wild to look back at where I started. I thought I knew how to roleplay, but I didn’t really understand what it meant to create a character whose backstory shapes their decisions and actions. I remember trying out for the cheer team back then, and oh boy—what an experience that was. My detailRP was lacking personality. It was all about techniques and skills, which, let’s be real, was pretty boring to watch! But as I played more and made new friends, I started to learn how to really dive into roleplaying.

In the summer of 2023, I joined the Academic Faction as a Librarian! Though my time there was short-lived due to a two-month summer exchange program in Korea, it was a valuable experience. I got a taste of roleplaying as an adult, which required a bit more thought and care than my previous high school characters. It definitely pushed me to grow and develop in ways I hadn’t expected.

In December of 2023, I joined my first sports team on the server: College Female Basketball. Being on a team opened the doors to JockRP and RivalryRP. I was surrounded by incredibly talented roleplayers, and reading their actions helped me refine my own writing style. I believe this is when my roleplay skills really began to develop. In April of 2024, I transitioned from basketball to the College Female Football team. I thought my basketball team was active, but I was blown away by the energy and engagement of the football team! We were constantly planning events, collaborating with other teams, and even stirring up some trouble with the Bobcats.

I took a short break from SRP during the summer of 2024, and in November, I returned to the College Female Football team, which I’m still a part of today. Every day I spend on the server helps me grow as a writer. I love observing how others roleplay and learning from them, and being involved in sports teams has been an invaluable experience in that regard. Most recently, I rejoined the Academic Faction as a Teacher. I wanted to try my hand at AdultRP again, as I’ve always had an interest in teaching. It allowed me to dive deeper into character development and consider how my teacher character would behave. Plus, being a teacher gives you the chance to interact with a wide range of players—from new ones just starting out, to seasoned veterans with years of experience, and everyone in between!

I have now stepped away from the Teaching Faction. I enjoyed my time there, but I’ve learned that TeacherRP isn't quite my thing. I have also since joined the College Cheer Team at the last Sports Day event! This has just increased my activity even more than it already was. I love my new team members and there's always something going on with them. I know I still have plenty of room to grow as a writer and roleplayer, and I’m excited to see what future opportunities lie ahead.

What is your motivation for applying?
As you can probably tell from my earlier answers, I’ve spent most of my time in the Academic Faction. It’s been a fantastic experience, and I’ve loved every moment, but I’ve recently realized working in it might not be quite the right fit for me anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I still adore JockRP and being on a team, but I’m definitely feeling the urge to explore other parts of SRP. The server offers so much more than just the school, and I’m really excited to dive into new experiences and challenge myself in different ways. I need a change of scenery, and I think the Hospital Faction is just the kind of shift I need to spice things up a little.

I’ve always been intrigued by the Hospital Faction, but I hesitated to apply until now because I didn’t feel I knew enough about it and was honestly a bit intimidated. After talking to some friends who have been or are currently in the faction, my desire to apply has only grown stronger. My characters have had plenty of memorable experiences in the hospital—whether it’s for themselves or helping friends—and each time, it’s been immersive, exciting, and filled with opportunities for roleplay. What excites me most now is the chance to explore the Psychiatrist role, which I’ve never experienced firsthand in the faction. Friends who have been psychiatrists, or have had a meeting with one, rave about their time, and I’m really eager to give it a try myself. Joining this faction would be a fantastic learning experience in MedicalRP, and I believe it would help me grow as a writer by expanding my horizons into new and exciting areas.

Which role are you applying for?
(Doctor or Psychiatrist)

I am applying for the role of Psychiatrist.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
I don't have extensive knowledge on the Hospital Faction itself, but I do know a bit about each role within the faction.

RoleDescription
Hospital DirectorThe Hospital Director is the backbone of Karakura Hospital, sitting proudly at the top of the chain. They oversee departments, enforce policies, and make the big-picture decisions that keep the hospital running like a well-oiled machine. From hiring new staff to settling major disputes, the Director steps in when things get serious. They're the final say, the calm in the chaos, and the reason everything behind the scenes stays in motion!
Clinical Lead/ChiefThe Clinical Lead/Chief is the head of their department and the go-to person for anything big that doesn’t need to go straight to the Hospital Director. They're in charge of training new staff, setting department goals, and making sure everything runs smoothly day-to-day. Think of them as the bridge between their team and leadership: part mentor, part manager, and always the steady hand guiding their department toward success!
Clinical SupervisorThe Clinical Supervisor is the right hand of the Clinical Lead, the second in command within their department. They help oversee day-to-day activity, mentor newer staff, assist with training, and make sure patient care stays top-notch. Clinical Supervisors are the first line of support for their team, answering questions, guiding newer members, and keeping things running smoothly without always needing to escalate issues up the chain. They work closely with their Clinical Lead to maintain structure, efficiency, and a strong team spirit.
ParamedicsParamedics are the first responders, rushing to emergencies outside the hospital. Whether it's helping someone at the scene or transporting patients safely back to the hospital, paramedics are trained to handle critical situations with speed and care. They often patrol in groups, assist the KPD when needed, and provide life-saving support to those who can't make it to the hospital on their own.
DoctorsDoctors handle everything from broken bones to major surgeries. Their job is to manage the physical health of patients by diagnosing illnesses, treating injuries, prescribing medications, and even performing life-saving procedures like organ transplants. Whether it’s a simple checkup or a critical operation, doctors are often the first and most important step in a patient’s care journey.
PsychiatristsPsychiatrists focus on the mental and emotional well-being of patients. They diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, and can prescribe medication when needed. Whether helping someone through a rough patch or managing serious mental disorders, psychiatrists play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the full care they need for their mind and body.

Within the three roles of the emergency, doctor, and psychiatrist departments, there are rankings of their own. In all of them, you start of as a trainee. Have to start somewhere!

Paramedics: Paramedic Trainee, Paramedic, Advanced Paramedic
Doctors: Doctor Trainee, Doctor Resident, Senior Doctor Resident, Attending Doctor
Psychiatrists: Psychiatrist Trainee, Psychiatrist Resident, Senior Psychiatrist Resident, Attending Psychiatrist

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I understand.

Character's Backstory:
[CHILDHOOD]
Amara and Ivy Yatogami, daughters of a Korean mother, Yujin, and a Japanese father, Haru, had a difficult childhood. After Haru’s gambling debt led to Yujin’s death at the hands of a loan shark, Haru fled with the girls to Kyoto without explaining what happened. Though they knew their mother was gone, they never knew the truth about her death.

One day, Amara overheard Haru on the phone with a loan shark threatening his daughters. She realized her father’s role in their mother’s death and knew they were no longer safe. After telling Ivy the truth, the sisters decided to leave. They packed a bag, took some money, and bought two one-way tickets to Karakura, leaving their past behind.

[TEENAGE YEARS]
Starting fresh, Amara found a cheap apartment near the Power Plant in Karakura—likely the reason it was such a good deal. She began working as a tailor, earning just enough to support herself and Ivy. A few weeks later, Amara met Kimiko Tabashino, a young woman who had been kicked out of her home with nowhere to go. Without hesitation, Amara took Kimiko in, adopting her as another sister.

With an extra mouth to feed, Amara had to pick up more work. She expanded her tailoring business and took on any retail or food service job she could find in Karakura. Her days were filled to the brim, but despite the exhaustion, she always made time for her sisters. As the girls faced their own struggles, Amara became a quiet the****** for them—listening to their worries, offering calm advice, and providing a safe space for them to talk. Her natural empathy and ability to understand people’s emotions made her the go-to person when her sisters needed guidance.

[COLLEGE]
With her tailoring business thriving, Amara moved the Yatogami family into a beautiful beach house and focused on her work. But she soon realized she needed something more. So, she joined the Spartan Basketball Team. At first, it was a challenge, but the experience pushed her to grow in new ways. She learned discipline, teamwork, and the value of trusting others—skills that deepened her understanding of human connection.

This sparked her passion for psychology. Helping her teammates with personal struggles reminded her of the way she supported her sisters, and Amara realized she wanted to pursue psychology seriously. Between basketball, her business, and her studies, she finally felt like she had found her place in Karakura.

[MEDICAL SCHOOL]
After graduating, Amara returned to South Korea and enrolled at Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, where she pursued her M.D. with a focus on psychiatry. The years of study challenged her, but her personal experiences as a listener to her sisters helped her connect with her patients. She spent time volunteering, solidifying her passion for psychiatry as she realized how much she wanted to help others heal from trauma and grief.

Despite her growing success in Seoul, Amara felt a pull to return to Karakura. The city had been where she rebuilt her life, and it was where her sisters still lived. After completing her M.D., she decided to return, hopeful that Karakura Hospital would offer her the opportunity to work toward her dream of becoming a psychiatrist. Returning to Karakura, Amara knew she wasn’t just coming home—she was starting a new chapter, one where she could continue her journey toward becoming the healer she had always hoped to be.

˖⁺‧₊˚✿ SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY ✿˚₊‧⁺˖

What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
(Ensure this is appropriate to the position you have chosen. Some examples can be found here)

Amara’s decision to specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry grew from her experiences with both her sister Ivy and Kimiko. After losing their mother and moving to a new country, Amara became Ivy’s rock—always there to offer comfort, understanding, and advice when things felt too overwhelming. As she grew older, Amara saw how crucial those formative years were, not just for her sister, but for every young person facing their own struggles.

Kimiko’s arrival in their lives only solidified this realization. Kimiko, who had been forced out of her own home, found refuge with Amara and Ivy. The pain and confusion Kimiko carried with her mirrored what Amara had once felt, and she found herself guiding Kimiko through her own emotional journey, much like she had done for Ivy.

It became clear to Amara that helping young people during their most vulnerable years wasn’t just something she was good at—it was something she was passionate about. By specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry, Amara wanted to be that safe space for others, just as she had been for her sister and Kimiko. She wasn’t just interested in treating mental health; she wanted to give young people the tools to heal, grow, and build a better future before their struggles defined them. To Amara, there was no greater purpose.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Yes, a little bit! During her medical training, Amara spent time volunteering in clinics, which gave her hands-on experience in understanding patient care. While it wasn't formal psychiatry work, these volunteer roles, as well as her internships and medical rotations during her M.D. program, played a crucial role in shaping her understanding and passion for child and adolescent psychiatry.

˖⁺‧₊˚✿ SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE ✿˚₊‧⁺˖

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Amara Yatogami stands at 5 feet 6 inches, with an aura that’s nothing short of captivating. Her large, warm brown eyes seem to hold endless stories, and her soft, lighter brown hair cascades down her back, adding to her striking appearance. With an hourglass figure and a slim waist, she gives off the impression of an idol—her delicate features clearly hinting at her Asian heritage. A faint scent of peonies seems to follow her, an unintentional but fitting touch to her already unforgettable presence. Outside of her scrubs, Amara rarely chooses an outfit that doesn’t feature pink. She dresses based on how she’s feeling that day, but no matter what she wears, she always manages to outshine those around her. Sorry, not sorry!

How does your character act around the hospital?

ON DUTY
OFF DUTY
Amara is calm, compassionate, and incredibly patient. She’s the kind of person who listens intently, making sure everyone feels heard, and her thoughtful advice comes from a place of genuine care. Her relaxed and approachable nature makes her easy to talk to, and her colleagues know they can always count on her to stay grounded, even in tough situations.
Amara is a total goofball, always ready to make someone laugh. Her jokes and infectious sense of humor light up any room, turning even the most ordinary moments into something special. She has a unique talent for spreading joy and brightening people’s days, no matter the situation. Remember those police costumes that everyone and their mother were wearing about a year ago (and still wear to this day)? Yep—that was all Miss Yatogami. She’s reformed now, of course! That was back in her college days, but it’s just one example of the playful energy she brings wherever she goes.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Amara can handle things on her own just fine, but that doesn’t mean she wants to. Taking on the responsibility of raising her little sisters at such a young age forced her to grow up fast. She juggled multiple jobs to support both Ivy and Kimiko, and saved up enough to buy a house for them to live in comfortably. So, it’s safe to say Amara is more than capable of managing on her own. But after years of doing everything by herself, she’s craving the support of a team. Having people to rely on, knowing she’s not alone when things get tough, would be a huge boost to her mentality.
