Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
theyre the staple for new players and old to bring enjoyment and life on the campus outside of other players. without teachers the whole "school" aspect would be up to imagination, which is no issue at all of course. But having actual players willing to teach and give players (students) a sense of fulfillment having classes that they can either love or despise! yes class could be boring but well.. its class!! its the roleplay aspect that brings this game together and with all the students and teachers together the game is truly alive! without teachers graduating wouldn't be an aspect needed since what exactly did students learn? with no teachers. etc etc.. the roles of teachers are also important in students lives, because if students are being bullied teachers can stop it, if students are lost in the building teachers can help them, alongside other students. teachers reward, mediate, and organize things and events with help from other staff FOR students.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes

In-Character Section

What's your character's full name?: duri leeyon qi
What is your character's nationality?: African American
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Science (Biology)

Describe your character:
Im an energetic, biologist who loves everything science, while being very observant and goal orientated during work hours! I spend most my time grading and writing lessons that even though aren't all that stimulating to me myself. help and teach my students new things I hope will become useful to them in their own future.

for my appearance, I have a very frail physique which I makes up for with my brain! I have long black hair, usually in my face. I'm 5'4 and usually am always smiling ready to tackle another day of learning/teaching. sometimes being told that I give off a mad scientist vibe. I'm usually not one for knowing peoples personal space. So I'm usually up close and personal especially when discussing biology! I've been told it gets out of hand how much I rant..

As for my future I want to be a biologist that can be in a huge lab surrounded by test tubes, petri dishes and incubators researching diseases of all kinds! I want to better the lives of those who are sick in karakura

What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Duri absolutely adore students, and respects her coworkers especially those of higher knowledge to hers. always willing to spare some cash to buy a drink or too ( sodas/coffee ) for her coworkers or even buy some lunch for students as well. And she's always looking to strike conversation to continue her chatter about biology, she's a beaming ray of sunshine, whose a little bit of a nutcase. but she cares about all those around her.

What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Duri strives to make science fun and easy for those who might even not even like it. she'd had been fascinated in science ever since she was a little girl. growing up in a primarily middle class home, her studies were the only thing she could rely on to get her into a good school to be able to make her parents proud. with being the oldest among 5 siblings. it was almost like it was her duty to be the 1st to go to college and the 1st to succeed to make a good example for her younger siblings.

Roleplay Scenarios

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Duri would sit or stand next to her student to get a better look at what they're not understanding. she would ask what they need help with, then she would step by step explain how to answer the following problem they need help with. if her student still doesn't understand she would briefly explain her lesson as to not take up to much time from all her class. if her student STILL doesn't understand and doesn't want to continue shed simply nod and continue teacher her class before the bell.

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Duri would continue teaching, to see if the students unruliness is to strike a reaction out of her. If the student continues and its to the point another student themselves speaks on it, she would call up the student, of course if they refuse she'd be forced to give the student discipline by handing out extra homework. Duri considers most disruptions possibilities for better or more engaging lessons to help keep her students more on task.

- If a student is talking out of turn, shed simple speak up and say "I admire your dedication to the lesson, but please let everyone get a turn to share their thoughts!" to instead make the student feel heard without as much of shutting them down to much. to let her student understand that she hears them, and also wants them to share the spotlight for other students who may struggle with speaking up if it comes to others speaking before or cutting them off.

- if a student is joking around with classmates during lessons, its all and well as long as its not during her discussion to explain lessons and such. if it is shed try and tell the students to pay more attention so they wont struggle on the assignment. though of course if the joking around is FAR off task from her lesson shed only slowly correct her students by interjecting and bringing them back on task.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
spot the difference !
a lesson showing 2 photos of cells 1 being an animal cell and the other being a plant cell. to show the difference between the two to get students to show their knowledge on the two cells that inhabit our world. when a student points out the difference they'd be given an incentive, a drink or snack paid for in full by Duri herself.

slideshow icebreaker!
an interactive game to have students name their favorite cell or topic in biology, and then give their name! to help make students introduce themselves. then students will be asked to group their favorite cell or topic adding an competitive mood for students to discuss who's cell or topic is the better one. of course Duri thinks they all are important but a little rivalry never hurt. she would of course stop it if things got to out of hand.
