Removing Study Time would get rid of a pointless break time that nobody uses to study. We had this for a few years now after period 1 was removed this suggestion is to bring back period 1

Brining back period 1 would benefit students and teachers alike being able to host more classes for teachers and make quota faster and students are able to get 4 credits in a single work day making school rp more fast pace and allow character development

Either that or allow classes to opperate in study time this won't require to change names or much of the school day but allow period 1 to exist just in a different name.

How will this benefit the server and community?:

By allowing period 1 to exist or allow classes to opperate during study time. we could allow more rps inside school study time is practically a useless time in the school day that could have more potential. everyone just runs around and there is practically no studying involved so why not bring back period 1 or allow classes to operate in study time​

like, study time then period 2 doesn't REALLY make any sense. Or maybe rename study time to "free period" or something like that

Hi, Teacher here for like, a long while. Study Period USE to be called Period One but it was still UNTEACHABLE. And since it was unteachable and people kept on assuming that teachers/professors could teach during that period, it was renamed to something that wouldnt get people confused.

We already have 3 other periods that teachers/professors can host during. Teachers are able to have 3 teachers host during a single period, so there are plenty of times teachers can host. There is a lot more that goes into teaching than just doing a command. We must have our homeworks checked, our lessons ready, and us being mentally ready to handle students and their antics.

If you think you are able for the Teacher job (anyone that is reading this) You are more than welcomed to apply to be one!

As a professor, Its easy to host in any period. Also 3 periods is A.. Unrealistic.. B... An unequal number.. C.. Just stupid.. If two teachers are on they can do double classes for 2 periods and if they are professors- well they can get 2 quota in one day without competing for students. If we wanted to, I'd say fully change times. Periods starting at 9pm-10:15 for P1 For p2 its 10:35-11:50 lunch = 11:50 to 12:30 p3 = 12:30-1:40 p4= 1:40-3pm. If you ain't for it then yeah. Its hard to explain, But to TEACHERS having 4 periods seems rather stupid but to PROFESSORS It is a LIFE saver, Having to constantly debate on who hosts when and.. You may not get students if theres two players hosting at once, AND it does get frustrating. I hate saying it but, Many classes in one period means less students and if you get little to no students is just a shame.

It’d be great to see P1 be brought back. If staff don’t want 4 periods why not switch P3 and Study Time slots? So P3 would be P1 and then P3 would turn into Study Time which is at the end of the day. This could be a good unwind after a long school day of classes and just studying. Though I know not a lot of players actually use the study period to study.

In the suggestion Study Time isn’t really used to its meaning. We could change that by potentially having Tutors host study sessions on specific topics for HS and College. Maybe the librarians can have the opportunity to host small study sessions in the library with the Tutors. Or the librarians can host something else related to the period. It’d be neat to see Study Time actually be used- if not then just change the name to Free Period as mentioned.

If this is the case, the schedule needs to be changed to match period 1 being the same length as the other periods.
Teachers can still hold classes at the same frequency without increasing quotas.
Attending classes is not mandatory, and students can choose not to attend classes to do their RP.
I think more school time allows players to invest more in school. We are SchoolRP.
I would like to give a suggested schedule:
7:00-7:30 -> School Time (School gates open)
7:30-8:00 -> Breakfast Time
8:00-9:40 -> Period 1
9:40-10:00 -> Break Time
10:00-11:40 -> Period 2
11:40-12:20 -> Lunch Time
12:20-14:00 -> Period 3
14:00-14:20 -> Break Time
14:20-16:00 -> Period 4

Maybe perhaps add a study room where students can go to do learn turing study time and teachers can also go there and help the students

In terms of realism 3 class periods per schooldays isn't entirely realistic. There are it's pros and cons of having an additional class period for teachers and professors, like having more chances to host a class, but with the cost of having shorter class periods which can be good or bad in both ways. Some teachers like finishing classes earlier then others whiles some want that extra time to make their classes more interactive. I can see why some people might not want it, but personally I think this could be a good change of pace for SRP since it gives a new perspective on the schedule.

Professors get to host the same amount as teachers per period (three) so I feel as though competition for slots isn't much of an issue anymore. Obviously, you can only host a class for two periods (other than field trips) but I think it's a reasonable amount since, personally, I think it's not a good thing if professors (I can't speak for teachers) knock out all of their quota (completing all required classes) immediately within a month. With the current amount, we're all able to grind a little but still spread out our classes throughout the month so that we're consistently hosting.

On a more individual note, I really enjoy the opportunity of having two extended free periods (Study Time, Lunch) because it gives time for roleplay outside of teaching times (when students and many faculty members aren't around) and it gives me the opportunity to finish up the things I need for class (getting items, writing up worksheets etc.). I think unless we were given another opportunity for another free period I'm against this.

If this is implemented it would be nice if (up to Muffin) we could host three times a day instead of just two (though that does contradict the whole grinding thing...).


Adding this - I know some students do enjoy going to speak teachers' or professors' classes, but also want to have RP outside of classes, so this extra freetime is nice.

Tutors have always seemed in the background, so why got give that extra time we have to the tutors to host little study sessions or something before the school day with classes starts. Students and workers have to be on school grounds anyways.

- We removed 'Period 1' as it's far to short to host any class, hence its change to 'Study Time' as it is a reasonable amount of time to for example go to the library and take a book out, or find a friend. Think of it more as 'Free Period', however we feel 'Study Time' fits better.​

- Tutors are already allowed to host their own tutoring sessions, and we may allow them to give homework in the future for even more possibilities to get to College.​
