Sounds of mechanical whirring echoed throughout the town, originating from the outside of the Shopping District main road. Crowds flocked to the sounds, witnessing the sight of an overwhelmingly large crane with a swinging wrecking ball attached to its end. A construction crew hired by the government began their work a week early, preventing a formal announcement of the reconstruction plan for the shopping district of Karakura City. The loud chatter of the streets was silenced when the crane took its first swing at the apartment complexes, destroying the livelihoods of many.

Enter Mayor Nicole Brown to the scene. With as much authority as her voice could muster, she demanded to know what the construction crew was doing. Announcing that they arrived a week ahead of schedule, and to stop their destruction. However, the crew ignored her demands and continued to tear down the district. The citizens of Karakura shouted about their disapproval over how the situation was handled. Karakura’s police department came to the scene after the destruction, keeping the angered crowd at bay.

Mayor Brown assembled the architects a week ahead of their scheduled time and expedited the reconstruction and renovation of the shopping district. With the mayor’s approval, they began the construction after clearing away the debris of the former shopping district. Updating the former single structure into a series of individual shop buildings, apartment complexes, and much more. This change was a breath of fresh air in the stagnant Karakura City. All structures were ensured to be up to code, and quickly opened back to the public after only a few days of construction.

However, after assigning the architects to the rebuilding of the district, Mayor Brown took a leave of absence. Leaving Karakura while the attention was turned towards the new structures, unaware of the vacuum in place at the top of their government.
