Describe your activity on the server:
I first started playing on this server 2 years ago and it has had a special place in my heart ever since. In the gangrp sphere I became decently well known. My long time in gangrp has polished my skill in roleplay and detailrp to an extremely advanced level. I was not just limited to average positions in gangs and was also in a captain position (head of a unit) at one point as well which gave me plenty of experience in a role with many responsibilities. I was on break from this server for a period of time because life got very busy. However, I have returned with a newfound drive to be even more included in the server and have been playing consistently ever since I’ve rejoined. I have school on weekdays meaning that I cannot play in the morning, however I’m free at anytime afterschool. I am completely free to play at anytime on the weekends on the other hand.

However, Summer Break is quickly approaching next month and I will be able to play whenever I wish during that long period of time.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

What position are you applying for?:

Lawyer

What is your motivation for applying?:
Roleplay. I feel like joining the government faction will be a huge growing moment for my character because he has spent so much time on the other side of the law. I also very much like the idea of him using his past hands-on knowledge on crime to aid him in his cases as a lawyer when helping clients. I want to use this position to change my character into someone who genuinely starts to care for his clients who are the everyday citizens of Karakura. This will be a stepping stone to him becoming someone who cares for the town and its people, leading him to strive to turn it into a better place as opposed to his past when he was actively destroying it. This truly is a big change for him due to him being in the destructive group named Anarchy in the past who were the biggest enemy of the government. He participated in the attempted assassination of the police commissioner (Yonio) and he was trained to be one of the bodyguards of a corrupt governor during an anarchy event. It will be interesting to see such a radical man working for the very same faction that he sought to destroy.

I am also extremely tired of gangrp since that has been the only side of the server that I have been active in and want to experience a new and refreshing side to this server that will excite me again. Part of my inactivity was getting rejected from the hospital faction and becoming increasingly bored with nothing new or meaningful to do.

Do you have an understanding of Karakura’s laws & Constitutional rights?:
I have a firm understanding of Karakura’s laws and Constitutional rights. I will always keep a copy close at hand and refer to them when needed.

What are your goals for being in Government Faction?:
My goals for joining the government faction are to experience a new type of faction and help contribute a meaningful as well as fun roleplay experience. When joining this faction, I realize that I will become an important figure in the town with heavy responsibilities and I want to work hard to not only be able to carry out my duties as a lawyer but also make an impact on the town through my work.

My goal for my character joining the faction is to build Jake’s reputation within the government and develop his character further. I want him to become more refined, professional and open to others through his work with clients instead of the brash and cold individual that he used to be.

In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction:

Government Higherups

Mayor

Role within the Government:

The highest ranking position in the government of Karakura. The mayor is in charge of the wellbeing of the entire town and its inhabitants. They are the main representative of the town and hold the most power.

Basic Responsibilities:
They oversee operations done in the town such as infrastructure and propose changes to laws. They hold meetings within the government faction and have the ability to carry out many of the same duties as other members of the government such as drafting legal documents, desk work, and officiating marriages.

Deputy Mayor

Role within the Government:

The second highest ranking position in the government of Karakura. The Deputy Mayor’s roll is to be the Mayor’s representative whenever they are unavailable. They provide their own leadership as well as opinion on the town's future.

Basic Responsibilities:
The Deputy Mayor often attends public functions, ceremonies and meetings on behalf of the mayor in the mayor's absence. They can aid the mayor with paperwork or decisions when the office is vacant.

Government Body

Governor

Role within the Government:

A political figurehead in the town of Karakura who seeks to help shape the town into a better place for its citizens.

Basic Responsibilities:

Handing out ID Cards

The handing out of ID cards is an important task done by Governors. ID cards are used to verify each citizens identity and allow citizens to access many different services in town. They also help verify the ages of those purchasing certain types of goods such as alcohol and cigarettes.

Officiating marriages
Marriage is the legal declaration of a union between two individuals which establishes rights, responsibilities and obligations between them. It is an important task for the governors of Karakura to validate these marriages in the eyes of the Karakura government.

Attending trials
Governors are permitted and encouraged to attend trials in the courts of Karakura. As those who seek the best for the wellbeing of it's citizens it is paramount that they view the disorder taking place as well in order to decide on the next step forward.

Surveying the public
Governors are public government officials who bear the hopes of the citizens on their shoulders. It is always good for the morale of the population to see their Governors walking amongst them and helping out wherever they can.

Approving adoption paperwork
There are many unfortunate circumstances and disorderly families in the town of Karakura. It is the job of Governors to instill order and give those without a home a chance at leading a proper life with a loving and supportive family.

Performing shop inspections
The shops of Karakura are imperative to keeping the town's economy strong. The Governors must make sure that all operations are being carried out legally and through the proper methods detailed in the laws of the town.

Judge

Role within the Government:

The unbiased eye of justice in Karakura who has the task of discerning the guilty from the innocent during judicial hearings. They hold the order and fairness of the court and impose sentences and penalties.

Basic Responsibilities:

Attending trials

It is an important duty of judges to oversee the trials that take place in the courts of Karakura and make sure that there is order and fairness for each party involved. At the end of the trial they are the one who passes on the punishment to the citizen.

Issuing warrants
As stated in article 13 of the constitution, "No person shall be apprehended except upon a written warrant issued by a Judge or Mayor, which details the reason with which the person is searched unless they are apprehended, the offence being committed." This means in most cases KPD officers can not apprehend dangerous individuals that threaten Karakura and it's citizens without these warrants making this task extremely important.

Reviewing cases
Before carrying out trials, a Judge must make themselves clear on the contents of the case. They often do not get very much time beforehand to review these cases and this makes it crucial that a Judge has a good memory.

Officiating marriages
A judge must help with the paperwork as well as officiating the union between two individuals in Karakura. They assure that the ceremony as well as legal proceeding all follow the proper procedures.

Filing restraining orders
Judges like all government workers have the task of keeping the citizens of Karakura safe. When an individual feels unsafe around another citizen it is the job of the Judge to draft the proper documents that detail a boundary that helps them feel safe. If one breaks the restraining order and makes the other feel unsafe, it is the duty of the Judge to pass on the proper punishment.

Contributing to front desk work
No matter what issue a citizen of Karakura has, it is the duty of the town's government officials to help them. Judges work at the front desk of town hall in order to oversee and aid any matters regarding Karakura and it's citizens.

Approving adoption paperwork
Judges draft and approve the proper adoption paperwork and help oversee the procedure of adoption. They help the younger generation of the town find the support and love that they need in order to thrive and become upstanding citizens.

Lawyer

Role within the Government:

A government official who verifies that the citizens of Karakura are given the right to a fair trial by offering advice, drafting legal documents and representing them during legal matters. They ensure that Karakura’s constitution is being upheld at all times during legal proceedings.

Basic Responsibilities:

Attending trials

Lawyers work with citizens who have been accused of crimes that face penalties. They attend the trials of their clients and represent them during legal proceedings in order give them fair representation in the the courts of Karakura.

Taking Attorney Calls
Attorney calls are given to Lawyers when they are appointed to a position of overseeing the assets and wellbeing of a citizen of Karakura when they are unable to do so themselves.

Participating in client meetings
Lawyers must communicate with their clients in meetings and be transparent about their goals and plans on ongoing cases. Citizens can also book meetings with Lawyers to be given advice on legal matters or to draft important documents.

Filing restraining orders
If a Lawyer's client feels unsafe about being in proximity to another citizen of Karakura, Lawyers can help them draft restraining orders that will be passed through the proper legal procedures in the Karakura judicial system.

Contributing to front desk work
Lawyers are always working face to face with the everyday citizens of Karakura and so they are expected to work the front desk in order to give advice, draft documents, or provide legal aid for the population.

Building client lists
Lawyers work with many different citizens at a time and can be apart of multiple ongoing cases. They must remain diligent and keep an organized and coherent list on all of their clients in a proper database in order to stay on top of their work.

IN CHARACTER SECTION

Full name:

He would sit down in his chair, his eye wandering around the room noting every small detail in the seemingly plain office. However, to Jake’s eye there was much to take stock of before settling into his seat, “Jake F. Zakharov.” He would finally reply slowly, choosing each word carefully as his eye settled on the recruiter. He realized even though he was applying for a job here, he was still a past enemy of these people whether or not they realized. This was going to be a long meeting, and he needed to choose his words carefully to avoid any suspicion.
IMG_6338.png
Preferred title (Mr., Mrs., etc.):
“Mr.” His answer would be short and to the point, cutting out any fluff and his gaze would be unwavering throughout the meeting, as if he were trying to pierce straight through the recruiter’s skull with his eye.

Current age:
“25 years old.” He would have to repeat his answer, for the recruiter was in disbelief. Jake had been through much stress and hardship in his life which carried a toll on him. There was the occasional strand of white hair as well as a jadedness to his expression. He had no wrinkles but he carried himself like a man who had lived through a full life at only the age of 25. However, with that came a lifetime of experience on how the real world worked that even the professors at McGill couldn’t teach.

Date of birth:
“January 27th, 2000.” He would reply slightly quicker, starting to let his guard down as he saw no reason to be alarmed by the questions so far. However, he would never let his guard down all the way. Especially at the sight of the KPD officers patrolling the halls.

Gender:
“Male.” He would look down at the recruiter’s notepad as he jotted down all of Jake’s answers. He fingered the arm of his chair unconsciously and tried to see what the recruiter was writing. He had only replied with one word afterall, so why was the man writing so much? The trained recruiter immediately caught Jake trying to peak at his notes. Jake wouldn’t offer any excuse and instead decided that it would be wiser to simply apologize. He leaned back in his seat still wracking his head about what they could be writing about him. His eye would widen at the possibility that they could have caught on to who he used to be but he quickly killed any sign of panic on his face.

Academic Degree:
He would puff out his chest with pride as he gave his answer. “I obtained my Criminal Justice - Bachelor of Arts degree and my Juris Doctor Degree from McGill University.” He raised his eyebrow at the recruiter in a challenge however the recruiter did not take such a bait due to his professional training, opting to instead ignore Mr. Zakharov and write down his answer. Jake would sigh quietly, slightly annoyed that he could not pull a victory over the recruiter after humiliating himself earlier.

Major(s):
“I have majors in Criminal Justice and Political Science.” He recalled lawyers with the very same degrees that he called on whenever he was in trouble. He had always admired them for their calm confidence and aspired to be exactly like them when he had chosen his majors.

Minor(s):
He would look the examiner up and down as he replied to this question. “I have minors in Sociology, Criminology and Philosophy.” He chose these subjects because he wanted to learn more about society and how unfair it was. He wanted to learn how to use morals and societal expectations to twist even the worst situations into his favour when fighting in the courts.

Work experience:
“I worked in the shop called Kansai as security during my younger days in Karakura. I then moved away for schooling back in Canada. After I graduated, I began to work in the local court systems and gain experience by taking pro bono cases since nobody would hire such a fresh faced lawyer for the normal rate. I began to make a name for myself through my numerous triumphs in court and moved back to Karakura recently in order to finally help quench the flames that I had fanned many years ago when I was a delinquent.” He hoped the recruiter wouldn’t read too far into his response. “I was just a little bit of a trouble maker at school… Getting into detention quite a bit.” He clarified hastily and his muscles would tense as he sat in his seat. The recruiter on the other hand was calm and didn’t say much in response, simply nodding at his clarification and writing it down. Jake would sit up in his seat again, his guard up once more after his slight blunder.

Nationality & born location:
He would grin from ear to ear and put his arms out in a broad and dramatic gesture. “I’m French Canadian and I was born in beautiful Québec City.” It was obvious how much he loved his home as well as his time there. The recruiter found it strange that this man had applied for a transfer to Karakura even though he did not seem very content to be here. Almost as if he was doing it out of a sense of guilt or obligation.

Fluent languages (Underline your native):
“I’m fluent in Japanese, English, French, Japanese Sign Language, and Russian.” He would respond to the question in each language showing that it was the truth. “One thing I love about this town is how it attracts all kinds of people… You get plenty of opportunities to learn their languages as well as culture.” His eye would wander towards the wooden floorboards and he would shift uncomfortably in his seat as he then mumbed, “You also learn a lot of things that you would rather forget…”

Criminal record:
“None. I’ve been arrested a few times but… The charges never seemed to stick.” He would smile at himself remembering how quick with his tongue he used to be as well as quick in his thinking. Both traits he knew would help him in his future career as a lawyer. He would need to make quick and risky decisions whenever KPD had arrived at the scene and his boldness and slyness had helped him evade capture everytime. He would use those same skills in his court cases which would lead to quick and decisive victories for him when he was working pro bono.

What makes you a good candidate for this job?
He would look past the recruiter now, wondering if he was making the right decision. When Jake returned to Karakura, he was immediately recognized by his old friend Deno Von Moltke-Löwe. However, Deno had changed a lot from how he used to be. He was no longer the immature child from the past, now he was a fully grown man who had gone to the end of the path that Jake had started down, reaching the money and status that Jake had always dreamed of. He brought Jake to his office and gave him an offer of finally achieving what he couldn’t all those years ago. He remembered Jake for who he used to be and offered him a position in his gang, however when Jake resolved to come back to this town he had decided to turn a new leaf. He now started to question if he was truly strong enough to resist Deno’s offer or if he will always be a simple street rat.

He then remembered his trek to the Karakura shrine and pulled out the omamori that he had bought from the maiden. He recalled her saying that it would bring good fortune and would help him with his ‘big decision’. He had obviously not gone into the details of what that decision was with her but he still felt a little calmer with the omamori in his hand now. He took a deep breath in and tightened his grip on the omamori before steeling himself to answer the recruiter’s final question.

He had decided to answer with his heart this time instead of choosing each word tactically from his head. “Without getting into the details, I’ve seen the dark side of this town firsthand. I’ve seen what it’s done to those close to me. What it’s done to me. I was able to escape and be given another opportunity to build a better life all for the price of my left eye. A bargain considering there are many who won’t ever leave the Karakura cemetery. What makes me a good candidate you ask? Well that’s simple. The constant pain in my hollow eye socket and pang in my heart are enough to drive me to make sure that my fellow citizens who have also been touched by the same darkness get the best representation in Karakura. For I believe that everyone is entitled to a second chance.” He would nod to himself, realizing that he had made his choice. He had finally left his bloody past behind him and taken the first step to a brighter future.
