APPLICATION INFORMATION

What position are you applying for?:

Judge

What is your motivation for applying?:
When I first joined SchoolRP, I was a bit shy and struggled to step out of my comfort zone. In the many years I’ve been part of the community thus far, I realised one of the main ways to branch out and meet new people was to get over my fears and apply to a faction. Initially I applied as a Reporter, and to this day I still am involved, but lately I’ve been wanting something new.

I tried applying for Caretaker after taking the time to decide what faction to apply for next, and when I wasn’t accepted I almost took it as a sign. My 2nd option, one I was recommended by a few friends now, was Government! I feel knowledge is best learned from experience, and what better way to learn more about a faction than becoming a part of it?

Do you have an understanding of Karakura’s laws & Constitutional rights?:
I’ve put time into learning and understanding the laws and rights of Karakura citizens, to better fit into the role I am applying for!

What are your goals for being in Government Faction?:
One of my main goals honestly for my time in Government is to learn more about Karakura’s community. I feel like the government of a city is one of the most important tools to a positive community. Without good leaders, society would crumble, and I think the best way to learn this is to experience it first-hand. Likewise, I also see an opportunity to branch out and meet new people, so one of my other goals is to hone in on my roleplay skills and practice them in new, unique scenarios– ones I can only find from being a member of the Government Faction.

In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction:
There are 6 main roles in Karakura’s Government.
Mayor
A Mayor is someone elected by the people to carry out the duties and responsibilities to keep Karakura safe and running smoothly. They are a trusted, valuable individual who usually puts their citizens first. It is important that the mayor supervises all of the roles in the government, and is a strong leader for their community.

Deputy Mayor
The Deputy Mayor takes up all the responsibilities that the Mayor cannot. They’re like a second-hand to the mayor, working with the city’s mayor to keep Karakura safe for everyone. They assist the mayor with their duties, and even take over when the mayor cannot.

HD (Head of Department)
The HDs act as a leader for their respective department. They’re tasked with supervising those ranked below them, and ensuring they fulfill their proper duties. They take the workload off of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor and ensure they have more time to assist with the community.

Governor
A Governor is like another local leader for the people to rely on. In Karakura, governors are tasked with doing shop inspections, surveying the public, and handing out ID cards to citizens. A governor is a reliable leader who's always ensuring that Karakura’s government is functioning well, and who always has the best interest for the citizens in mind.

Judge
A Judge is the one that runs the courtroom, making the decisions on a case and ensuring justice is fairly served. A judge in Karakura most notably reviews the cases for trials, and issues warrants. It is up to the judge to determine the final verdict of the trial; innocent, or guilty?

Lawyer
A Lawyer is tasked with defending their clients in a trial. They review the case, and must find the best possible solution to assisting their client. A lawyer in Karakura is tasked with taking attorney calls, reviewing their cases, and building a list of clients. A lawyer is almost always present in the courtroom, defending or prosecuting clients on trial.

Do you acknowledge that upon being accepted you can be subject to removal at any given time?:
Yes, I understand upon joining I can be removed at any time if needed or deemed necessary.

Have you read & agreed to follow the Government Faction rules?:
I’ve read through and understand all the rules, and agree to follow them!

IN CHARACTER SECTION

Full name:

A polite smile greeted the interviewer as Michael took his place in the seat provided, his eyes almost locking directly onto his counterpart. Despite the formality of his actions and posture, his voice held a friendly kindness in its tone.

“Hello,” he began, “My name is Michael Marie-Weston, the third. You can just call me Michael, though.”

Preferred title (Mr., Mrs., etc.):
“I’d prefer Mr. Weston for the simplicity, but Mr. Marie-Weston is equally acceptable.” Michael tilted his head, with a soft smile.

Current age:
“I just recently turned thirty-six,” quite a shocker, the man appears to be at most in his late twenties. “Just this November, actually!”

Date of birth:
He leaned forwards toward the interviewer, placing his interlocked-hands to the desk. That soft smile still remained as he spoke, “November 21st, 1989. Like I said, my birthday was recent.” The smile shifted to a wider grin, as Michael grew more comfortable with his setting.

Academic Background:
“I went to the local school of my home-town all through elementary to highschool. After graduating from there with my associates degree, I enrolled in Ventura Community College, and got my masters.” He gave the interviewer a moment to write that all down, before clearing his throat and continuing.

“After working for a couple of years, I went back to school to get my law degree, where I enrolled in Yale’s Law School.” Yale? Seems this guy was one smart cookie!

Work experience:
Michael took a moment to think, tapping his fingertips against the desk as if he were typing on a computer and pulling up a resume– in his head, of course. “Well, when I was 12 I volunteered at a family-owned shop, though I’m sure you need a little more than that.”

“Fresh out of college, I took up a bartending gig for quite some time, until I swapped out for a more corporate job– a manager position at my family’s company in California. After a few good years of working there, I went back to finish my schooling, and now we are.. here!”

Nationality & born location:
A slight nod was delivered, as Michael thought about the question.

“Let’s see.. My family is mostly British and German, but from my mother’s side there’s a bit of Australian in me.” He moved his hands about as he spoke, as if he were drawing out an entire family tree to the interviewer. “I was born in America, California to be exact, but I’ve since come here to Karakura to chase new experiences and opportunities.”

Criminal record:
Michael’s eyes widened a little, as he even let out a small chuckle. “Criminal record? I’m far from a criminal, feel free to check any of Karakura’s records; nowhere should you see my name.”

What makes you a good candidate for this job?:
“A good candidate..” He tapped his chin with a finger, “Well, I’m very skilled at keeping things professional. I can set aside my emotions from my work, and keep an unbiased opinion when I have to.” He took a moment to breathe, before continuing. “I also have been told I’m pretty friendly. I’ll get along with any of my co-workers, and I can ensure I’ll make a good impression on anyone I work with.”

“Also, I have 2 children of my own, and after taking care of them for most of my life, I can safely bet I’d be able to put up with anything thrown at me in the courtroom. I’ve had to play judge a few times between them, if you know what I mean.” He extended a hand for the interviewer to shake, concluding their time together with a nod of his head, and the same authentic smile he’s held the whole time.
