My activity does vary depending on what I have to do OOCLY that week and also what all is planned, such as events for other factions I’m in. So, depending on those, my activity could of course vary, but that also means if events do happen for Shrine, I will be more active as I like being involved in those. I do get a bit drained though, so I probably wouldn’t get on another faction account for that day unless schedules sessions and such! If I were to rank my activity on a scale of 1-10 I would say it varies between 6-8 as of recently just because I did get second job and I am learning to manage that better as time goes on, but so far it actually kinda benefits my activity as I’m allowed on my own personal laptop hint, can get on. I would say that most days when I work my afternoon job, I am typically on for four to six hours, which usually includes me getting on before and after work for some time!
On days that I work my night shift job, I can be much more active during the prime time I would say most people are on, so typically, those days, I have a bit more time to be on! Now on days that I don’t work, it can go three ways really, which is I have a family event or a doctor's appointment, second is usually I will sometimes that day to recoup and rest up for the week or third, and usually what happens is that I get on for a VERY long time as I won’t have nearly as many distractions and concerns. Again, it all really depends, but I do plan to be active and meet the mandatory quota and hopefully more! I will also do my best to try to attend any events I can and also help wherever else I can.

Now the graph can’t always be guaranteed for some days, but it is 95% accurate as my schedule doesn’t change much with my second job because I have so many days off from the other.

What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest):
I am applying for a Shinto Priest.
What is your motivation for applying?
One of the main motivations for me to join is the last time I was in the Shrine. I was in it for a bit, but I personally feel there was still so much I could have experienced, and even Halloween, because I know how chaotic that can be. Which may be a little random to mention, but I think it would be VERY fun, and just in general, I feel that during my first time in Shrine, there was still so much I could have done. So, I would like to get that opportunity again to do it and hopefully do a lot of new things. I did get into Shrine back in 2023, so I know a lot of things have also changed, which I think would be so cool to experience and learn about as someone who was in Shrine in the past!
Another reason is that I would love to see a lot of the old people I was in the faction with before, and meet all the other shrine workers! Usually, when I am on it seems I typically miss them, unless you guys come to the hospital to give food! (love that) I would not only love to get to know the shrine workers and new higher-ups in the faction, but I also wanna to get the experience of what it is like in Shrine again. While I have been in it before, it has been three years, and I am a bit foggy on what it was like completely, though I know if I'm accepted, it’ll probably come back to me right away. To be honest, I also miss doing weddings because that was one of my favorite parts of being a priest!
There is so much more, but the last one I do wanna mention is also getting to know the community on SRP, like civilians and such as a Priest! I feel that the interactions and relationships I could build on the character would be much different from how my other faction characters are with people. I know because of my character's beliefs and such that he will definitely probably have different interactions with people than other characters I have! Very excited to develop him more if accepted!
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
I would say at the moment I know quite a bit about Shintoism, but I will admit my memory is quite foggy. I know if accepted, and once I get back into the motion, lots of that will come back. I have been rereading old documents that other people and I made during my wave to help with information and such. I’ve also been doing a bit of research, but I do go back to the documents I have because the layout is just easier for me than a website. I know about quite a few of the gods(kamis), and I still remember a few that were specific to Karakura.
I will admit that it is very foggy, and I have not had a chance to read on that again, but lots of the kami in Shintoism I have looked up and have basic ideas on. I also know how to do a tea ritual ceremony and weddings. Along with, I do still have basic knowledge of ofuda, tamagoshi, and kagura suzu, which I do not know if they are still used, I can only assume so, but I do have the basic knowledge on those items, along with what they're used for and such! There is also a bit more I do know, but I don't wanna go into depth, and yes, I am very willing to learn more.

He would adjust his sleeve as he sat up straight in the chair. He’d clear his throat before speaking, “My name is Surikaru Rapizora. My name hasn’t changed since I last worked here,” He’d say it with a complete straight face. He didn’t exactly look mad or intimidating, but more serious rather than anything. He’d always be adjusting something to make sure nothing was out of place. Not once during every question asked so far had his facial expression changed, just that same deadpanned look.
Character Title:
“Title? You mean like Mr and such?” For once, he actually moved a bit, which was just the raising of his eyebrow. Once the question was confirmed, he sat back a bit before speaking. “Mr., I am not married, so it is fitting I figured that would’ve been picked up on.” The last bit seemed a bit more judgmental, but more like the topic was a very broad topic to begin with.
Character Age:
“I am currently 32, when I first started to work at this Shrine last I believe.. i was 29? I am not sure off the top of my mind, as much has happened in those years since I worked here. Unsure if this is necessary, but my birthday is August 13th, 1993, if that was needed with the question.” He didn’t hesitate to say the last part, not bothering much to ask if his birthday was needed. His voice remained at the same volume for most of the ‘interview’.

By the way his face shifted, he didn’t seem.. necessarily pleased with the question. He sat up once more, but this time he was more tense. His voice came out a bit more raspy, unlike when he had cleared his throat, “I am not married, but I do have a daughter.” Immediately after he said the last words, he went quiet again, leaning back in the chair as he waited for the next question. It was clear that he was done with this question and would not explain anything further.

As he spoke, his voice was much clearer now than when he answered the last question. “I am a Japanese citizen as I was born in Chiba, Japan, though if we are talking ethnicity, I am Japanese and Salvadorian. I don’t know how relevant this is to the question, but I did live in Korea for a good while before moving here.” He took a moment before speaking again. “I do go visit Korea every once in a while still.”
Degree/Certifications (If applicable):
Suddenly, there was a small sweat that could be seen, her cleared his throat but a bit more harshly than last time as he took a moment before he finally spoke. “I actually have a few degrees, though none of them are really helpful when it comes to this type of job. The only one I could see is my psychology degree, which is a minor; other than that, I have a bachelor's in forensic science. I do not believe that will ever be needed here.” What a strange duo of degrees for someone applying to be a priest, though if one thought deeper could have been a past passion.. but still a bit strange to most.
Backstory:
“It’s very long. I submitted that when I was interviewed for the job the first time. If you still have that, it'd be better to read, my memory has.. Gone quite a bit on certain things, and it's most accurate. The only thing I can really add is that after I quit, I spent the last three years in Korea. That is really all I have to add.”

How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
Surikaru on the shrine ground would try to give a gentler approach, mainly to guests. Though, since his last time at the Shrine, you could notice a very slight change in his personality. While before he was still very quiet, he wasn’t necessarily as strict or blunt as he is now. On shrine grounds, of course, he would make sure not to disrespect anyone to the best of his abilities. Of course, misunderstandings happen. While he does take a gentler approach with the guest, he is very keen on respecting him, the other staff, and the ground they walk on, so when it comes to this, his approach to how he talks to the guest could change a bit. He would probably be a bit stricter, which I will add in more detail under the next question. Now Surikaru's approach towards the other staff is quite different from most, probably is, because unlike most new people coming to the Shrine who wanna make friends ICLY. Surikaru can be a difficult person sometimes to get to open up about himself, which makes it harder for him to relate to people, as he won't give up certain parts of his life.
Meaning he just won’t tell basically anyone, now this is all stuff that I wanna roleplay out and work on through character development, so very likely it will change. Though when he does first get to the Shrine, he will be quiet with the staff a lot more than he is with the guests. That does not mean he is necessarily rude to the other staff, but to some people, it could come off as if he is very avoidant, which would be right. Now, once Surikaru got to know people at the shrine, he would definitely be a lot more comfortable with the other staff, though still, unless it's very close-knit, he will not open up about certain parts of his life again, as I did say. Surikaru also has a habit of overcooking. Before he gets close to the other staff, he would probably just eat it all or give it to guests, but once does grow closer, he will likely just leave food in containers at their door.
He’s very awkward, not in an uncomfortable way, but more like serious awkward, just not getting social cues as well.
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
The first thing Surikaru would do is issue a verbal warning, basically telling them to get down and explaining how it's disrespectful, but also adding that if they dont their can be consequences. If that didn’t work, he would get two more warnings, as he does three times most of the time. The second, he would make himself sound more intimidating on purpose to hopefully get them down. If that didn’t work, he would threaten to call KPD, as they are not listening and not following the rules of the Shrine. Surikaru himself would probably not pull anyone down, as HE knows that itself can be a charge, so he would try to wait it out for KPD or even try to get them down before they come to avoid any real problems that could end badly happening. THOUGH if he was annoyed enough, he would grab their wrist and pull them down, this would be more if they were on the shorter roofs, as he can reach due to his being very tall, and afterwards would escort them out of the Shrine. These are the two ways I could see him currently handle this situation upon acceptance but over time, he probably would change it up a bit more; only time can tell.
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
There are quite a few reasons why he wants to become one; some of them are the same as the last time, which is because his mother was very, very involved in the religion, which was what started his own connection with it. Since his family lives in a whole other part of Japan, it does make him feel closer to them in a way. I would say another reason is that he has worked there before, he was comfortable in the environment, and he just doesn’t have anything really negative associated with it. This plays a big part because during his time in Korea, he, of course, did need to get a job.
This is something that would be harder to get out of Surikaru, but working as a forensic scientist who does work on crime scenes and figures out how it played out, and so on. It did bring him back to a place he never did like; he didn't like the job before he worked with Shrine for the first time, but just strayed back again. Which is why his feeling comfortable at Shrine is a big part of why he came back, not only so he could be in Japan near his family but also cause he knew there was a job he preferred significantly to his other. Now, when it comes to what he wants to achieve working here, there are a few things, but I will just mention two so some can be found out ICLY heh!
So one of the main things he does wanna achieve is to learn MORE about the Kamis, but specifically the ones he does not worship. Again, his mother introduced him to the religion, and she still practices it herself to this day, so it gives them much more to talk about the more he learns. So, while it may seem basic I suppose he does wanna achieve almost more knowledge on the Kamis, and as MANY as he can at that. Now the second reason is that even when he applied the first time, he felt that not a lot of people still knew the religion and followed it, so he wanted to be able to introduce people to it more! Another thing that he wants to achieve by working here is to introduce as many people to the religion as he can!

Surikaru values are quite simple in his own head, he feels that they are something most people value alot. Family is one of the biggest, he has always had many siblings and a big family in general. Even a family that isnt blood is important to him and he will do what he needs to protect them. He feels that these are people you can be connected to for life and that having a good bond is important. He also will always have his family back, again family is big to him. He would risk alot to protect it and in some ways has.
Another one would be honesty, growing up in a big household it really was something they relied on. Like when another kid broke something and they wouldn’t admit it, telling the truth was a huge thing in his household while he was growing up so even now he considers it basic respect. If he was to be lied to and caught the person, that trust would fall greatly and take time to rebuild. HONESTY is a huge thing for him.
One of the last things I’m gonnna mention is that meditation is also something he values greatly. This may come off as weird, but with lots of what he's been through and just how he responds to certain things meditation helps him. He will usually do it two times a day at least to help keep himself calm and much more alert, if the day is worse he does it more! Surikaru will not go to therapy, so for him meditation is the best thing even medication is something hes very hesitant about even when it comes to pain meds. You could say he values more the peace meditation bring him.

Surikaru himself would probably not pull anyone down, as HE knows that itself can be a charge, so he would try to wait it out for KPD or even try to get them down before they come to avoid any real problems that could end badly happening. THOUGH if he was annoyed enough, he would grab their wrist and pull them down, this would be more if they were on the shorter roofs, as he can reach due to his being very tall, and afterwards would escort them out of the Shrine. These are the two ways I could see him currently handle this situation upon acceptance but over time, he probably would change it up a bit more; only time can tell.
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?
There are quite a few reasons why he wants to become one; some of them are the same as the last time, which is because his mother was very, very involved in the religion, which was what started his own connection with it. Since his family lives in a whole other part of Japan, it does make him feel closer to them in a way. I would say another reason is that he has worked there before, he was comfortable in the environment, and he just doesn’t have anything really negative associated with it. This plays a big part because during his time in Korea, he, of course, did need to get a job.
This is something that would be harder to get out of Surikaru, but working as a forensic scientist who does work on crime scenes and figures out how it played out, and so on. It did bring him back to a place he never did like; he didn't like the job before he worked with Shrine for the first time, but just strayed back again. Which is why his feeling comfortable at Shrine is a big part of why he came back, not only so he could be in Japan near his family but also cause he knew there was a job he preferred significantly to his other. Now, when it comes to what he wants to achieve working here, there are a few things, but I will just mention two so some can be found out ICLY heh!
So one of the main things he does wanna achieve is to learn MORE about the Kamis, but specifically the ones he does not worship. Again, his mother introduced him to the religion, and she still practices it herself to this day, so it gives them much more to talk about the more he learns. So, while it may seem basic I suppose he does wanna achieve almost more knowledge on the Kamis, and as MANY as he can at that. Now the second reason is that even when he applied the first time, he felt that not a lot of people still knew the religion and followed it, so he wanted to be able to introduce people to it more! Another thing that he wants to achieve by working here is to introduce as many people to the religion as he can!

Surikaru values are quite simple in his own head, he feels that they are something most people value alot. Family is one of the biggest, he has always had many siblings and a big family in general. Even a family that isnt blood is important to him and he will do what he needs to protect them. He feels that these are people you can be connected to for life and that having a good bond is important. He also will always have his family back, again family is big to him. He would risk alot to protect it and in some ways has.
Another one would be honesty, growing up in a big household it really was something they relied on. Like when another kid broke something and they wouldn’t admit it, telling the truth was a huge thing in his household while he was growing up so even now he considers it basic respect. If he was to be lied to and caught the person, that trust would fall greatly and take time to rebuild. HONESTY is a huge thing for him.
One of the last things I’m gonnna mention is that meditation is also something he values greatly. This may come off as weird, but with lots of what he's been through and just how he responds to certain things meditation helps him. He will usually do it two times a day at least to help keep himself calm and much more alert, if the day is worse he does it more! Surikaru will not go to therapy, so for him meditation is the best thing even medication is something hes very hesitant about even when it comes to pain meds. You could say he values more the peace meditation bring him.
