How Should One Acquire KPS?

Hello!

I am developing a story with my character, and a major force to drive future plot points is that he is a murderer. However, I don't know how I should go about getting KPS. I don't want to kill characters that players are in the middle of developing stories with, nor do I want to just go around asking people for KPS. I want to make the act of my character killing theirs to be an enjoyable (as enjoyable as it can be) experience for both parties involved. So, how should I go about this?

Thank you everyone for your time,
Not Snoobs

While I’m generally not a fan of one-off characters created solely to die, your concept is interesting enough that it deserves a collaborative approach.

If you want to tell this kind of story, it’s important to find a group of people who are genuinely interested in exploring it with you. Ideally you’d work together to plan character arcs that intersect meaningfully with yours.... perhaps involving a slow build-up and some emotional stakes. maybe even multiple possible outcomes (like your character getting caught by a detective, hunted by a rival, or facing his own downfall/death/exile).

Some players might be open to having their characters killed, but most won’t envision that as the natural end to their story. Maybe instead of asking for kill permissions (KPS) outright, consider inviting friends or call out to interested players to create characters specifically for this plotline. characters who can still be fully realized and integrated into Karakura before eventually crossing paths with your character (preplanned). that might take months. but that way, their deaths feel earned. And not disposable. And the community can have a genuine reaction to them.

I think this kind of story needs time. And trust. And VERY good communication.

I absolutely love the idea of the character's deaths feeling earned! How would you say I should go about locating a group that'd be interested in this sorta thing? The idea of collaborating with others on this is so appealing!

To put it shortly, the driving factor of your character shouldn't be to acquire or seek out KPS. Instead, have them develop their behavior in a way that hints at their murderous intents, but not so much as to give it away. You'll notice that, as time goes on, you'll meet people who are willing to roleplay out murder cases with you thanks to your potential development skills

My shoddy approach to this would be that you first build a character (Let's call em' Everyday Yamada Tarō Person) that connects with people. Lives a normal life.
That way, you will make friends and acquaintances that you can ask to join in your vision. Speak with them OOCly about your interests and plans.

Then you create your second character (The Murderer) who is already plotting. Give him a life too.
He should not exist in a vacuum. He should have a small cirlce of friends too - or even be in a faction, if you want to create a lot of drama.

You kill off your first character (Everyday Yamada Tarō) - as one of the first victims of your Killer character.
(You can give yourself Kill Permits on your own characters as far as I know.)
The one you developed and build connections to the community with.
Yamado Taros' death will definitely engage and upset some people and raise some interest.
And your friends help you shape the rest of the story.

Additional Suggestion:
There is a CrimeRP community on SRP that is invovled with all kinds of illegal activities.
Joining them will help you understand more about permits and the boundaries of crimeRP.

I hope your character plotline goes well!
