Describe your activity on the server:
If I had to summarize my activity on the server, I'd say I'm fairly active. I do have plenty of real life obligations to attend to, such as school and family, but for the most part, I'm able to be online every day. That being said, I usually spend three to five hours online (if not more), most of this time spent role playing on either my team character or adult character. I'm equally active on both weekends and weekdays cause of my current schooling situation, thus I'm usually online from 11am to 10pm MST.

That being said, I joined SRP in late 2017, but didn't get into it until late 2020. Admittedly, much like a lot of other players on the server, I started out with Gang RP. Even with its current state, it still makes up a large part of my experience on the server. I credit it for shaping a lot of my current abilities, especially when it comes to managing large groups and handling complex situations. I’ve also met a lot of people and formed meaningful connections that I still hold onto today. Though my focus has shifted less towards gang-oriented roleplay and more towards crime RP itself.

It was around 2023 that I applied for teacher, I had never been in a faction prior so it was something of a learning experience for me. Fortunately, however, I settled in quickly. I found myself really enjoying the (for the lack of a better word) chaotic environment. I found a lot of joy and excitement in creating fun experiences for new players and normal players alike, making class activities and games were some of my favorite things to do. That being said, my biggest hurdle here was managing disruptive players, where I had to learn to assert myself when necessary.

I eventually left the teaching faction in hopes of getting involved in something new, which to me was Jock RP. The first team I was on was HS female football, and although the team and people were lovely, I quickly figured out that the plugin just wasn't for me. But during the few months I was on that team I learned a lot about JockRP, and most if not all my first experiences with it were on that team. After that I took a small break, and it was also around the end of the year where I applied for builder and looked forwards to trying out for HS male basketball.

I did end up getting into both, but it was only a month later that my school load suddenly increased, especially nearing ACT season and preparing for college with the end of my junior year. My time on the build team was inevitably cut short, deciding that it was too much responsibility ontop of the already piling ones. But, my short time in the community team was nothing less than great. That being said, I left for roughly three months before returning, bringing me to where I am today.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I’ve been on the server for a long time and roleplaying for even longer, which has given me a variety of experiences, not just here, but across other communities as well. Writing has always been a major part of my life and naturally ties into roleplay, especially as an AP English student planning to major in English. With that in mind, I've interacted with plenty of players and factions on the server. The most notable I've taken part of are teams and crime. Despite the reputation of the latter, I've had the most enjoyable experiences in roleplay within these communities, thanks to the people within them and the opportunities and unique scenarios/experiences they provide. Of course, the opportunities from these factions are what you make of it. And that's whats so special about roleplay, you aren't the sole mastermind behind your character or their story, and the same goes for other players, it's a collaborative effort.

What is your motivation for applying?
The reason I'm applying isn't just because I want to expand my scope, but because I genuinely enjoy detailed, serious roleplay. I've had a number of friends and acquaintances in the faction, and have heard both the ups and downs of the role. And although I've been a part of a number of factions and groups, I found myself seeking something more intense, and I know that's something EMS would bring. Also, as someone with many nurses in my family in real life, I've always found medical topics and protocols interesting, and it'd be something I'd enjoy dabbling in and expand my knowledge on especially with my writing.

Which role are you applying for? (Doctor or Psychiatrist)
I'm applying for the role of doctor.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction? (This is to gauge at your current understanding of the faction prior to acceptance)
I'm semi-familiar with the roles in the hospital, mostly due to prior understanding with real life hospitals, and to a friend who had to go through the trouble of explaining to me the difference between trainees and residents (shout outs to shadow >_<).

So, here it goes!

There are three departments total. Going in order its psychiatrists, doctors, and emergency. Psychiatrists are different from doctors, in the way they deal with emotional and mental conditions. This is usually done through therapy and medicine. Doctors, on the other hand, deal with external conditions, specifically physical ailments. This is treated using a variety of things such as surgery, physical therapy, medicine, and other medical practices. My understand of the emergency department is a bit slimmer, but from what I understand (I might be wrong!) the emergency department is only open to experienced players who have been in the faction for awhile.

That being said, within those departments there are five different positions;
ROLE
PURPOSES
Trainee
Accepted applicants hold this role for up to a month, during this time you'll be trained on certain procedures, and will only be able to carry out the procedures you have learned. Trainee's aren't allowed to leave the hospital and cannot sell or prescribe medication.
Resident
Trainee's who have passed their training period! They're still learning but are technically a qualified doctor at this point. They're allowed to go off-duty and sell and prescribe medication their department allows
Attending
These are considered senior members of their respective departments. They know the ropes and are allowed to train the trainee's
Supervisor
Another senior position with only two slots, (one in the Paramedic's case) in charge of overseeing the Attending doctors as well as the trainee's trainings.
Lead
In charge of everyone, going down the ladder!

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
I understand and acknowledge the consequences.

Character Backstory (Optional):
I couldn't finish it in time unfortunately, but at the very least what I do have;

In the coastal city of Kobe, nestled in the backstreets of the Hyogo port was a two-story wooden structure. Peering in from the bustling street, it'd appear as if you were looking into another era. Its traditional tiled roof and weathered shikkui walls straight out of the early 1900s. But upon closer inspection, there'd be signs of renovation—freshly varnished wood, the faint of hum of appliances, and the recently poured concrete that led to the entrance. Etched just above the doorway read;

'朧 — 龍家診療所'
Oboro—Long Family Clinic

Soutetsu's grandparents, both renowned physicians who fled China to Japan, brought their skills to the Western port. Fortunately, with the urgent need for medics at the time, they quickly found work. They eased into the everyday life of the port-city and their earnings eventually allowed them to open up their own practice. However, they had just one hurdle before they were allowed to do so. Japan doesn't allow foreigners to buy property, and in order to naturalize, they were required to take on a Japanese surname.

At first, they were reluctant to let go of their origins, eventually choosing that if they were going to settle here, it'd be better to fit in. They chose 'Oboro', but didn't hesitate to pay homage to their heritage, naming their clinic after their Chinese surname. They looked after the citizens of Kobe, and the citizens in turn depended on them. Families from around the area frequented the clinic, even for small things such as a mere twisted ankle.

It went on like this for a long time, Soutetsu's father eventually taking over the clinic along with his cousins and uncles who also immigrated . Leading up to Soutetsu’s birth, Daiki Oboro—his father—met the woman who would later become Hibana Oboro. They crossed paths while Daiki was still training at the clinic; Hibana, a slightly older woman, had come seeking employment.

Enamored with her, Daiki pleaded with his parents in hopes of winning her over. You know how simple things were back then—and Hibana, already past the typical marriage age, wasn’t opposed. Hibana gave birth to Soutetsu a year into their marriage, and a few years later, to Reijiro. The two boys were born and raised in the clinic. They spent their childhood wandering the wide halls and running minuscule errands for the staff.

Growing up, Soutetsu had little interest in the clinic’s affairs—and even less in becoming a doctor. Instead, he preferred darting through the back alleys of Hyobo, collecting snacks as well as odds and ends from elderly locals who were far too kind to the mischievous boy. From adolescence into his teenage years, he never quite outgrew his trouble-making tendencies.

Soutetsu got swept into delinquency—bleaching his hair, racing around on mopeds, and engaging in petty theft. He wasn’t home often yet every time he returned, he’d hear his father nagging about his appearance or the clinic. It was always something with him. His mother, on the other hand, never seemed to pay much mind, if at all.

This went on until his first year of high school. His father, finally deciding he had enough, enrolled Soutetsu into private boarding school. With his current grades and record, Soutetsu wasn’t able to enroll into any good high schools, so they didn’t have a choice but to pay him in. Daiki had high expectations for Soutetsu. The boy was meant to take over the clinic, their family’s prized possession, and his behavior just wasn’t cutting it.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY

What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

Soutetsu specializes in family medicine, which often comes with a broad range of patients. Although, it wasn't him who chose this path, but his family. The Oboro clan (originally the Lóng family) fled to Japan Post World-War II, his grandparents, who were both physicians, brought their medicinal knowledge with them to Kobe and preserved it. Over time, the clan continued its longstanding tradition of healers and physicians, adapting their practices as the world modernized.

However, family pressure wasn't the sole reason for him to pursue family medicine, he was exposed firsthand to the many patients they treated and the wide variety of health issues they faced. Naturally, the tender hearted child ached for these people. Watching their health improve under his brothers and sister inspired him to follow in their footsteps, choosing to care for people in each stage of life.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Soutetsu has a hefty background in medical positions, stapled to his resume would be as follows;

[X] Kobe Central Medical Hospital, Kobe, Japan

Medical Intern | 2010 - 2012

☓ Gained experience in patient communication

☓ Preformed basic medicinal procedures under supervision

☓ Monitored and recorded patient progress

☓ Learned to interpret lab results and diagnostic imaging

[X] Oboro Family Clinic, Kobe, Japan (Closed)

Family Physician | 2012 - 2023

☓ Completed rotations in internal medicine, pediatrics, and emergency departments

☓ Conducted routine check-ups, screenings, and preventive care

☓ Managed clinic operations during periods of financial and staffing challenges

☓ Mentored junior staff and medical trainees in clinical and patient care procedures

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Soutetsu is a middle-aged man with a healthy figure, maintained by only by his dedication to his health. His features were elegant, marked by subtle imperfections that only time could have refined. He possessed natural tact, and whether his face was thick or thin would be impossible to guess. Even his moments of panic seemed to carry a quiet sense of self-assuredness that could only come with his experience. Despite this composed exterior, Oboro was far from humorles. Having worked with patients young and old, he knew the value of lightness. He wasn't above idle chit-chat or corny jokes, after all, it was his job to ease others burdens.

How does your character act around the hospital?
Always in motion. It was like standing still would kill him, and at his age, it just might! Needless to say Soutetsu wasn't scared to do his rounds, checking in on fellow co-workers and patients who had the (mis)fortune of catching him in his permanently chatty mood. Of course, this couldn't be mistaken for slacking off, if anything, Oboro's extremely slacked on. Despite all his grooling years in the work force, his eagerness to do his job never faded.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Oboro is a versatile man, having been in the field for so long, there was no doubt he got used to fluctuating situations. His ability to work on his own and with others are on par with eachother. However, he'd undoubtedly prefer to be around other people. Even with distractions and idle talk he preforms well, and if anything, it motivates him.
