Are you aware that inactivity can result in removal from the council?: Yes, I fully understand that inactivity can result in removal from the Student Council. I take that responsibility seriously and will make it a priority to stay active, involved, and available whenever needed. If there’s ever a situation where I need to take a break, I’ll make sure to inform the appropriate staff or council leads ahead of time. Being part of the council means committing to consistency, and I’m ready to uphold that expectation.

TRIVIA QUESTIONS

What is the student council and what do they do?:
The Student Council is a group of dedicated students chosen to represent the student body at Karakura High. Their role is to promote a positive, respectful, and orderly school environment through leadership, event organization, and rule enforcement. They act as role models and intermediaries between students and staff, helping to solve conflicts, maintain discipline, and contribute to school-wide decisions. In-character, they are responsible for ensuring students follow the rules, hosting events, and encouraging school spirit. Out-of-character, they set a high standard for roleplay maturity and community involvement.

What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.): I was motivated to apply for the Student Council because I’ve always wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. I enjoy helping others, solving problems, and creating a positive space for students to feel heard and respected. I’m also passionate about leadership and organization, and I think the council is the perfect place to grow those skills while giving back to the school community. Some of my friends encouraged me to apply, and seeing how the current council members carry themselves really inspired me. I want to contribute to that legacy and make a difference.

Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events): Yes, I’m fully aware that creativity and teamwork are key aspects of being in the Student Council, and I’m excited about both! I thrive in collaborative environments where different ideas come together to create something amazing, whether it’s planning an event or solving problems. I love brainstorming new ideas and turning them into reality, especially when working with others to make them happen. I’m ready to contribute my ideas while also supporting my teammates to ensure we can accomplish everything as a group.

Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?:The main roles within the Student Council typically include the President, who leads the group and sets goals; the Vice President, who supports the President and ensures everything runs smoothly; the Secretary, who manages meeting notes and communication; and the Treasurer, who handles finances for events. Additionally, Event Coordinators are responsible for planning and executing school events, while Public Relations Officers work on promoting those events and keeping the student body informed.

Other important roles might include the Student Liaison, who serves as a bridge between students and the council, ensuring student voices are heard, and Club Representatives, who bring ideas and concerns from different clubs. A Head of Discipline might also be needed to enforce school rules and help maintain a respectful environment. Lastly, the Event Support Team is crucial for helping with the logistics of events and making sure everything runs smoothly.

SCENARIOS

While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly?

Answer:
First, I would approach the student calmly and respectfully, asking them to stop the disruptive behavior in a non-confrontational way. If they don’t immediately comply, I would gently but firmly ask them to step outside the assembly to talk privately. It’s important to remain composed and not escalate the situation, especially in front of others. I would remind them of the rules and the importance of respecting the event and their peers.

If necessary, I would inform a teacher or staff member so they can help address the issue further. My main goal would be to restore order without causing more disruption or drawing too much attention, ensuring the assembly can continue smoothly.

A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do?

Answer:
First, I’d take a deep breath and try to stay calm. If the student ran away, I wouldn’t chase them, as that could escalate things. Instead, I’d approach the situation by following up with them as soon as possible, either by talking to them in person or sending a message through a trusted method (such as school messaging or meeting after class). I’d make sure to keep my tone respectful and explain that it’s important to follow the rules for everyone’s safety and well-being.

I’d also remind them that skipping detention won’t solve the problem and that we can work together to resolve any issues they might have with the rule. If they continue to refuse, I would escalate the matter by informing a teacher or staff member to ensure it’s handled properly, following school procedures for dealing with students who are defiant or disruptive.

A teacher observes concerning behaviour from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns?

Answer:
First, I would take the teacher’s concerns seriously and thank them for bringing it to my attention. We would start by discussing the specific behaviours the teacher observed and reviewing the student’s past actions to get a clearer picture. It’s important to approach the situation calmly and without jumping to conclusions, as the student may be struggling with personal issues or external factors.

Next, I would suggest that we meet with the student in a private setting, either one-on-one or with a counsellor present, to better understand what’s going on from their perspective. I would approach the student with empathy, asking open-ended questions to give them space to express what might be bothering them. It’s important to make sure they feel heard while still reinforcing the seriousness of their behaviour.

If the behaviour suggests a potential safety risk to themselves or others, I would immediately inform the principal or appropriate school authority to ensure a more formal intervention can take place. This might include a safety assessment, contacting parents, and possibly involving the school counsellor or other professionals who can help address the root cause of the student’s actions.

Throughout this process, I would work with the teacher and other staff members to ensure that the situation is handled sensitively and appropriately, keeping the safety and well-being of all students as the top priority.

A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression?

Answer:
Depending on what the protest is about, Yes, I would allow them to protest, as I believe it’s important to support students’ right to express their views in a respectful and constructive manner. However, I would first want to understand the purpose of the protest and the specific message they are trying to convey. It’s essential that their cause aligns with the school’s values of respect, safety, and inclusivity.

If I approve the protest, I would work with the students to establish clear guidelines to ensure it does not interfere with the daily operations of the school. We would set boundaries for where and when the protest can take place, ensuring it doesn’t block walkways, disrupt classes, or cause safety concerns. I would also encourage the students to stay peaceful, respectful, and orderly during the protest, reminding them that freedom of expression comes with a responsibility to respect others.

In addition, I would notify teachers and staff in advance so they are aware of the protest and can help supervise the area. If any issues arise, I would be ready to step in and address them promptly to maintain a positive environment for everyone.

A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this?

Answer:
If I were told that I was doing something that goes against what I was trained to do, I would first listen carefully to the teacher/receptionist’s concern and make sure I fully understand what they’re pointing out. It’s important to remain calm and open to feedback, as I know I’m still learning and improving.

After understanding the issue, I would acknowledge their feedback respectfully and explain that I may not have realized I was going against the training I received. If necessary, I would ask for further clarification or suggestions on how to correct my approach. It’s important for me to follow the guidance of my higher-ups, so I’d ensure I address the concern promptly.

Once I understand the correct procedure or behaviour, I would work to adjust my actions going forward, and if I’m unsure about something in the future, I’d make sure to check with my superiors or colleagues before proceeding. I value learning from mistakes and am always open to constructive criticism to better serve the school and its community.

Please provide at least one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event): "Adopt a Friend Fundraiser: Saving Lives, One Paw at a Time"

The “Adopt a Friend Fundraiser” is a heart-warming and impactful event that would raise funds to help adopt animals in need of loving homes. This event would combine the excitement of community engagement with a meaningful cause, bringing attention to the importance of adopting pets from shelters and giving them a chance at a better life. The goal of the fundraiser is to raise enough money to support local animal shelters, sponsor adoption fees, and help animals find their forever homes.

Event Activities:

Adopt-a-Pet Booths

One of the key features of the event would be a booth set up in collaboration with a local animal shelter. The booth would have photos and profiles of animals that are available for adoption, including dogs, cats, and other pets that need homes. Volunteers and shelter representatives could provide information on the adoption process, the benefits of adopting, and ways to support the shelter. We could even have a “Meet and Greet” session with adoptable pets, where students and their families can interact with the animals, forming bonds before considering adoption.

Fundraising Stations
Throughout the event, there would be various fundraising stations where students could donate money to help cover adoption fees, veterinary care, food, and shelter supplies for the animals. These stations could be designed with creative signage featuring pictures of the animals who need support. We could set up donation jars in classrooms leading up to the event to build excitement and get the whole school involved. For an added incentive, we could have a “goal thermometer” to show how close we are to reaching our fundraising target.

Charity Auction and Raffles
To raise additional funds, we could host a silent auction with pet-related items and services donated by local businesses. Items could include pet toys, grooming sessions, pet food, and even adoption fee sponsorships. Additionally, we could hold a raffle with prizes like gift certificates to pet stores or tickets to local events. All the proceeds from these activities would go directly toward supporting the animal shelter.

Pet Parade and Costume Contest
For a fun and lighthearted activity, we could hold a Pet Parade and Costume Contest where students (and their pets, if they bring them) can walk the “runway” dressed up in creative outfits. There would be categories like “Cutest Pet,” “Best Pet & Owner Duo,” and “Funniest Pet Costume.” The winners could receive a trophy, gift bags, or other prizes. This would also be a great way to get the school community involved and raise awareness about animal adoption.

Educational Talks and Workshops
Throughout the day, we could host short talks or workshops focused on educating the student body about the importance of adopting pets and the responsibilities that come with pet ownership. Local veterinarians, animal trainers, or animal shelter workers could speak about the care needed for different types of pets and how adopting helps reduce overcrowding in shelters.

Additional Fundraising Ideas:
“Paw Print” Sponsorship:
Students and families could purchase a “paw print” to be displayed around the school, symbolizing their support for the cause. These could be personalized with the names of the donors.
Merchandise Sales: We could sell pet-related merchandise, such as T-shirts, mugs, or tote bags with adoption-themed designs, with proceeds going to the fundraiser.

Overall Impact:
The “Adopt a Friend Fundraiser” would not only raise money for animals in need but also educate the school community about the importance of adoption over buying from breeders. It would encourage empathy, responsibility, and community involvement. Ultimately, the goal is to ensure more animals find loving homes while also creating a positive, compassionate atmosphere in the school.

This event is designed to be fun and engaging while directly helping animals in need of adoption. It’s a perfect way to bring the school together to support a meaningful cause. Assuming it'd be reasonable enough, as it helps out not only animals, but gives students a chance to make a furry friend to have as a companion by their side!
