TRIVIA QUESTIONS

What is the student council and what do they do?:

The student council is a group of students who put hard work and dedication into making the school a safe and enjoyable space! They aid school faculty when needed, plan school events, and give assistance to anybody who may require it within the school. They're a representation of the entirety of the school body.

What motivated you to apply for council? (e.g. Interests, friends, etc.):

What motivated me is definitely interests, because I believe my character would be a great fit within the student council, as she is typically a rule follower! Additionally, I would find it very interesting to include in her character since it would add more depth and purpose. As someone who always wanted to join the student council in real life, I wouldn't want to pass up this opportunity and would like to put lots of dedication into it!

Are you aware that you’ll be having to use your creativity and teamwork ethic within the student council? (e.g. Coming up and helping with events):

Yes! Creativity and teamwork ethic are important parts of being in the student council. I would love to use my creativity more often to help make events or really anything!

Can you list the roles in the council along with other roles that might be important to the council?:

President
Vice President
Training Committee
Councilor

Role that otherwise might be important to the council would be:

Principal / Deputy-Principal & Vice-Principals
Chancellor / Vice-Chancellor & Deans
Teachers & Professors
Caretakers / Librarians & Tutors

SCENARIOS

While students gather for a school assembly, one student behaves disruptively, causing a disturbance. How would you manage the situation to restore order effectively while minimizing any additional disruptions to the assembly?

I would respectfully ask them to please refrain from causing any disturbances, as there is an event going on. If this doesn't stop, however, I would ask for them to please follow me outside of the assembly so we could discuss things privately; who knows maybe the student needs to talk and this could help. If, however, it continues to escalate, I would give them detention and ask them to sit out from the assembly since they can't behave properly.

A student refuses to take their mask off after you’ve brought up detention and they’ve run away! What do you do?

In this situation, I would bring it up with the faculty either on the radio or in person. If I didn't know who was wearing the mask, it would cause some difficulties with communication, but I would try my best to give proper directions on where the student went and any additional information I could provide. In the case where I do know who is wearing the mask I would tell faculty their name so they can be called up on the intercom. I would never chase after the student! The reason is that chasing them would only cause more problems than solving them; it would be best to find other means, such as speaking with faculty about the issue.

A teacher observes concerning behavior from a student, including the creation of disturbing artwork and verbal threats toward peers. How would you collaborate with the teacher to evaluate the situation and intervene appropriately to address potential safety concerns?

As a student council member, my job wouldn't be to discipline; however, I would help with communication! If in this situation the teacher got this information and provided it to me, I could help monitor the student and make sure that this behavior didn't continue any further by asking if I could speak to the student privately on the matter. If the student's actions worsened, I would document it and provide it to the appropriate staff, most likely already giving them detention. I'd ask those who were threatened if they're alright and provide them with appropriate instructions on how to see a counselor if need be, mental health matters after all.

A group of students asks for your permission to stage a protest on school grounds. Would you allow them to protest? If so, how do you ensure that the protest does not disrupt the school environment while upholding their freedom of expression?

In the case of it being a peaceful protest I would allow it for the time being and tell them to not disrupt or disturb any students or faculty on the issue and absolutely do not do it within the school, since classes may be occurring and it can be a huge disturbance. However, in the case where it's not a peaceful protest I wouldn't allow it and respectfully decline, if they protest anyways I would contact faculty on the issue and bring it to a halt through their assistance.

A teacher/receptionist has told you that you are doing something that goes against what you were trained by your higher-ups. How would you react to this?

I would listen to them with open ears, nobody is perfect and I definitely don't believe I am either, so I would try my best to understand what they're talking about and fix what I was doing wrong. I'd swiftly apologize for not recognizing my actions went against what I was trained and quickly note it so I don't continue doing it, I always want to do what I'm instructed of so I'll ask any questions if what was brought up caused me any confusion.

Please provide at least one detailed event that the council can use as a future event to showcase your creativity! (Must be 300 words or more for one event):

Mental Health & Wellness Week!

This event would run for an entire school week! Monday - Friday.

Each day would be something different!
(Dressing rules are not required, just suggested.)

For the entire week, there would be a school-wide game! It would consist of a scavenger hunt challenge with daily tasks tied to mental wellness such as: Hugging a friend, giving a compliment, and so on!

Monday - "Mindful Monday"
During Mindful Monday students would be asked to come in dressed in blue which would symbolize calmness! There would be a classroom or two that would be transformed into a relaxing environment with soft lights and relaxing music where anyone can come to sit, talk, or read to enjoy a peaceful time between classes.

Tuesday - "Talk It Out Tuesday"
During Talk It Out Tuesday students would be asked to come in dressed in red for courage, since we all know it takes great courage to talk about problems we all face! Counselors would be in and available for talks! There would be speakers who can discuss with students on how to cope with anxiety and school stress when it comes to their studies, we all know how stressful it can be! There would also be a box near the entrance of the school where students can drop notes anonymously about their struggles, since not everyone can talk about their problems openly, but getting it off your chest just through a note can go a long way!

Wednesday - "Wellness Wednesday"

During Wellness Wednesday students would be asked to come in dressed in purple for mental health awareness. On this day there would be dogs paying a visit! Who doesn't love dogs! But not just any dogs, therapy dogs, they're the best at comforting those in need.

Thursday - "Thoughtful Thursday"
During Thoughtful Thursday students would be asked to come in dressed in yellow for joy and self-love. The student council would pass positive notes through the hallways letting everyone know that YOU MATTER.

Friday - "Feel-Good Friday"
During Feel-Good Friday students would be asked to wear comfy clothes! Pajamas are even allowed! The day would end with a glow-in-the-dark dance on the basketball court with booths on the sides giving out healthy snacks! There would be music that was decided by the whole student body through a vote being played during the dance.

Every day, there would be a morning announcement that would say something uplifting to start the day off strong!

Gender:

"Female!!"

Age:

"I am eighteen."

Phone number:

"It is (030)-500-4065."

How would you describe your personality?:
"
Well, I'd describe myself as a loving and wholesome person! At times, I've been referred to as someone who is too nice for this world. Though the kindness makes me rather dense! I'm naturally someone who goes with the flow, unless erratic or dangerous, and always will take responsibility for my actions. I'm always there for those who are in need!"

Appearance/attire (Please provide a picture):
1750419478567.png

What separates you from other applicants seeking your position?:

"What I believe separates me from other applicants is that I'm a dedicated student, I strive to be my best even when I feel as though I cannot. I'm always trying to one-up my previous attempts or accomplishments because I believe I can always be better, everyone can! To make your way up in the world, you have to always look for something better within yourself and discover things you didn't know before."

Why do you want this position?:

"I want this position because I really would like to help out faculty, from what I've noticed they deal with a large number of students on a daily basis who get into no good and with this position, I could lessen their stress by providing support when they may need it. Additionally, it would make a positive impact on my future success allowing me to use it as a way to prove I'm a dedicated worker with job applications or potential things I get into in college."

What interests you the most about student council?:

"If I had to say what interested me the most about the student council it would be the level of commitment you must have to work alongside faculty and fellow student council members whether it's dealing with misbehaving students or just setting up a school event. I respect the level of dedication the student council has and wish to apply my own dedication alongside them!"

What could you contribute to make the school a safe and fun environment?:

"A whole lot of positive vibes! No matter what I treat anyone and everyone with a great level of respect and kindness, I believe nobody should be left out and everyone deserves love! Unless they're misbehaving students, then they have to feel my wrath. Good wrath, of course! Such as detention!"
