Describe your activity on the server:
If I had to rate my activity on a scale of 1-10 I'd positively give it an 8. Although I love SRP I think it's fair to say that sometimes it does become a bit overwhelming so I may take a day off at times, but it'll never be a frequent occurrence. I'm usually online between 11am-10pm when the servers dies down depending on the day. I decided it'd just be easier to show a typical schedule for myself but all in all the conclusion is I'm online a lot.

Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
Mondays should typically remain free for me due to me working from home, my schedule should often remain free & Open.
Tuesdays should also typically remain free and it'll follow a similar schedule to Monday's quite frequently and shouldn't be too different
Wednesday's can be iffy often due to me usually engaging in some sort of activity OCLY but it'll never take longer than a few hours at most.
Thursdays are also typically quite quiet for me however it's possible that practices for the football team might end up on these days.
Similar to Thursday's, team practices or events might fall onto these days however they never take up a large amount of time and I remain quite free.Typically always available during Saturdays, if I'm doing anything for the weekend it'll either be very short or last the whole weekend.
Usually will be the day I return if I planned to stay out on Saturday, so more often than not I'm usually always going to be available Sunday nights.

What is your timezone?:
Central Standard Timezone (CST) - I'm hoping being in this time zone will allow me to reach more patients due to me typically aligning with the most active hours of SRP. This is crucial to me as I want everyone to be able to experience the medical experience in its entirety as often as possible. Infrequent activity will and shouldn't really ever be an issue for me!

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
My experience with roleplay stems all the way back to 2015, right before I joined SRP. At the time, I was really into building, and I noticed quite a lot of people roleplaying on creative servers. They'd advertise in the chat, add people to their plots to open doors and such, and build small cities, towns—whatever the case was. To me, it was so enjoyable that I decided to make my own little town, and boy, did I put effort into it.

I'd advertise daily, trying to make sure everyone on that server knew I had the best roleplays. As corny as it is to look back on now, I took an immense amount of pride in it. Shortly after that era, I joined SRP in 2016. I still remember being able to hit people with pencils, those dumb but amazing sandstone pools right by the McDonald's that everyone loved, and let's not forget the two half-circle dorms for people who wanted to act like they were in college. It was much simpler back then, but it grew into what it is today—and that's what makes it so nice to remember.

After 2016, I didn’t rejoin SRP until 2020 due to some complications I had with connecting to the server. Like most people at the time, I got into GangRP. Eventually, it became part of my daily routine. It even garnered me a sort of reputation; I became a higher-up in a few different gangs and eventually started my own, which was very successful at the time. Although this era was fun, it always felt a bit stale to me—almost like I was missing a different part of roleplay that I hadn’t yet experienced.

Being a gang member and interacting with adults and EMS characters so often made me not really want to be just another random grade-12 kid wielding a naginata and a ballistic mask 24/7. This eventually led me to take a break from SRP—not a long one, maybe a few weeks. When I came back, I saw that close friends of mine had gotten into sports roleplay, so I decided to give it a try. I tried out, and boom, I became a member of Spartan Basketball in 2022. That genuinely opened my eyes to how much different roleplay could be, and it provided me with so many opportunities to do more with my time and character.

After that, I took another short break, then came back and decided to join a different team, where I still am today—Spartan Football. Shortly after getting into football for the first time, I also gotten an adult character, and I decided to start a family. Boy, did that change things even more for me.

It made me realize that every role on SRP has its pros and cons—and honestly, most of the time, the pros outweigh the cons by a long shot. There's so much more to SRP than meets the eye. Whether you're a student, an athlete, a gang member, a family figure, or an EMS worker, every role offers a new perspective, a different story to tell, and a whole new set of memories to make. It’s one of the things that has kept me around for so long, and why I’m still excited to see where my journey will go next.

What is your motivation for applying?
My motivation for applying kind of stems from what I mentioned before. Always seeming to be in contact with EMS in some way, shape, or form created the initial spark of interest, and I’d say how in-depth you're able to get with the faction itself has only fueled that curiosity further. Not to mention, I’ve had about three to five friends encourage me to apply for EMS, as they themselves are, or have in the past been apart of the faction. Because of them primarily, I've heard the ins and outs of the role pretty regularly as I've made it a sort of routine for me to ask about it so I can a better understanding & confidence with it all. This genuinely gave me an understanding on what it means to be apart of EMS.

For the longest time, I always wanted to apply for EMS, but honestly, it seemed so daunting and intimidating to me at first. I figured you had to be a real-life doctor with a book-full of medical knowledge just to even adapt positively to the role. But once I learned that wasn’t the case—and that what matters more is dedication, effort, and the willingness to learn—it made me want to apply even more and allowed me to really want to put effort into applying for the position. The idea of being one of the people who can take in patients, help them in their time of need icly, and become a reliable presence in the server sounds incredibly fun and even addicting to me, even if it’s demanding.

Recently, I had a real-life experience that made my interest in EMS even stronger. After a hospitalization I went through—not anything I'm mentioning for sympathy, but just as a genuine part of one of the reasons I want to so badly get involved—I got to see firsthand how important it is to have calm, knowledgeable, and caring people around when things aren't going right. Whilst it being a difficult time in someone's life. It gave me a whole new perspective on what it actually means to be in that role, not just in a technical and real-life sense, but in the way you can impact someone’s experience when they're vulnerable, scared or just plain out worried. That experience really pushed me to realize that I wanted to be that person for others, even if it’s just within the roleplay setting.

I’ve heard from my friends that working EMS can be draining at times, and honestly, I would expect nothing less from such a high-impact/high-performance, faction. To me, that’s part of the general appeal for the position. It’s not a faction you can just join for a title and or role and throw to the side when you're bored; it requires real attention, passion, and a drive to be better—not just for yourself, but for the people depending on you. I admire that deeply, and it’s something I feel ready to commit to.

Above all, I want to be part of something that's a lot bigger than myself. I want to be someone that others can rely and depend on, whether it’s to patch up an injury from a petty fight, guide a patient through something serious that may be affecting their life, or simply be a steady hand when everything else feels chaotic and unmanageable. EMS, to me, represents a backbone of the server that often doesn’t get the credit it deserves due to it often times being casted into a shadow due to people thinking it's just a faction that's there, whilst in honestly, it's much more than that. It represents the individuals that want to contribute to the citizens of Karakura whilst always putting their front foot forward, and I’d be honored to contribute to that kind of foundation.

With my past experiences across different sides of SRP, combined with my personal drive to adapt to the role and real-world perspective, I know I can bring an extreme amount of dedication, quick thinking, and unwavering dedication to the role that I'd be taking on—and I’m genuinely excited for the chance to prove it.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
(This is to gauge at your current understanding of the faction prior to acceptance)
RoleDescription
DoctorsA doctor's work is never done! As they're the most common out of the others, simply from it being almost a gateway to the faction. These coffee-drinking machines are tasked with simple things such as selling the prescribed medication and crutches from the counter, or conducting check-ups on ill patients—and complexities! Surgeries and diagnoses, even applying prosthetic limbs. Anything that doesn't have to do with the brain or getting someone arrested? These trained professionals are well-versed in the medical field!
PsychiatristsThese doctors are far more interested on what happens in the noggin than they are the bones, taking care of Karakura's mentally ill or nervous patients. I'd say this is one of the hardest positions on the server to put yourself in, and one very important to character development amongst players. This job can provide therapy to the traumatized and lonely town of Karakura, and are able to gather information on a diagnosis for their patients. At least, to the best of their abilities. Able to get you medication and keep you going! If, you take it. Understanding the brain is the game within this department, even tasked to keeping KPD mentally sound with all the horrifics they tend to go through with evaluations! Just to make sure Paramedics aren't driving them insane. I don't believe Psychiatrists can obtain the paramedic's license, but perhaps that has changed!
ParamedicsAn addition to the roster a while back, paramedics are KPD's closest allies. With a special uniform and all, their job is to keep patients found injured at crime scenes or unfortunate forest incidents alive and able to be treated at the hospital. Alongside KPD for most of their time, they can also do patrols on their own to insure the safety of Karakura's citizens. If I recall correctly, these to-go doctors can't perform much of anything on home base, only able to provide service enough to keep their patient alive if a doctor is around; if not? Well, they can probably figure it out. To become one is no easy feat, as it's something of a promotion. A special task set only from knowledge.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, absolutely. I fully intend on appearing at all trainings.

Character Backstory

The cold winter night of December 28th marked the beginning of a long, unrelenting struggle for the Kinomoto family in Sanya, Tokyo. Iouta Kinomoto entered the world in a battered hospital where machines sputtered and nurses moved like shadows, overworked and hollow-eyed. His mother’s cries of pain went unanswered, and his father's frantic pacing earned no comfort. Yet, amidst the flickering fluorescent lights and the cold, stale air, a bond was forged — the stubborn will to survive.

Iouta’s early years unfolded in a home more akin to a patched-up shelter. Blankets layered over cracked windows did little against winter's bite, and candles burned down to wax stubs in desperate attempts to hold back the cold. But it wasn’t misery that defined his upbringing — it was resilience. His parents taught him early that you don’t abandon what you love, even when everything seems impossible.

At six years old, the weight of reality crashed into Iouta’s life more violently than ever. His father, once a proud salaryman, lost his job after a wave of corporate downsizing. Day after day, Iouta watched the man he idolized return home with his shoulders sagging lower, his words quieter. His mother, smiling for her son’s sake, began to rely on alcohol to blur the sharp edges of despair. One evening, the air seemed wrong — heavier, colder. His father collapsed in front of him, a crumpled figure on their living room floor.

In a haze of fear, Iouta clutched the old landline phone, unable to remember numbers, barely able to shout for help. When the emergency responders arrived, they worked with swift precision — checking vitals, issuing commands, stabilizing a man who had seemed unstoppable only days before. For the first time, young Iouta saw human fragility laid bare — and also, the power of those who knew how to fight it.

That night imprinted itself onto him. He realized that while pain and loss were inevitable, helplessness didn’t have to be. Someone could choose to be the difference between loss and hope. And so he decided, even at that young age, that he would be that person.

As the years wore on, hardship didn't loosen its grip. Iouta worked odd jobs from the moment he was able — washing dishes, sweeping markets, anything that could sc**** together enough yen to keep the lights on. School was never easy. He had no private tutors or expensive cram schools like his classmates. What he did have was a secondhand set of medical encyclopedias salvaged from a closing bookstore, and a stubborn streak that wouldn't let him give up.

When he was fifteen, Iouta began volunteering at a free clinic operating on the edge of Sanya. It was there, among crowded waiting rooms and tired doctors, that his dream narrowed from helping people to healing them. He watched physicians diagnose complex conditions with a glance, witnessed them calm screaming children with nothing but steady hands and warm voices. It was a craft — an art — and he fell in love with it fully.

University seemed an impossible mountain, but he clawed his way up. He studied during bus rides, skipped meals to afford textbooks, and slept in library corners when he couldn't justify the trip home. Failure was a constant companion, but so was determination. He earned his Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science, then his Master’s in Clinical Medicine, and dedicated himself to understanding the human body in ways that once seemed unimaginable to a boy from Sanya.

Still, no degree or lecture ever replaced the fire that pushed him forward:
The unshakable need to be the one who shows up. The one who does not turn away.

And now, after years of sacrifice, sleepless nights, and quiet promises made in the dark, Iouta Kinomoto finds himself here — pen in hand, heart steady — writing this application. Not just to pursue a career, but to fulfill the purpose that life carved into him from the start.

He does not apply out of pride.
He applies out of duty — to the people who, like his family once did, wait in the cold and wonder if help will ever come and he intends to be the answer to that question.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

Iouta's childhood was filled with an aura of crisis and endangerment. Someone to rely on was never in the home, the urgency of urgent care being the only adults to truly trust. Either it be from the risk of his birth or his father collapsing in the living room—the poor boy could never be insured that the adults consistently in his life could save his own. When humans get scared, they either run, fight, or think. Kinomoto was and still is, a thinker. The desire to be able to grasp control when his parents couldn't, either it be from themselves or others.

To intervene when those needed it most is what made Iouta feel drawn to Emergency Medicine. He could've helped them, if only he had the knowledge. Quick hands bringing someone stable enough to continue to enjoy their life; it was a rush of control, desperately needed control. Which soon evolved into passion, one he wanted to pursue deeper.

As his mind rushed to what else his hands were capable of, the thought of what could hurt human beings in a flash was a thought. One he desperately wished to 'investigate' further, as a Pathologist. Pathologists are something of a Sherlock Holmes in the medicine world, to uncover any hidden bits and bobs that could harm one's seemingly stable health.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, Iouta craved more knowledge. Anything that could build his brain into something of a medical mine field, one so dense of information he'd be able to assist whoever needed it. Considering his family's state of mind, the man wished to look further into Neurology, the connection between the brain's physical state on to body. Silent, and far more deadly than any virus. Knowledge is nothing short of power, and power Kinomoto craved.

Internal medicine is a broad and challenging field that aims to diagnose, treat, and prevent numerous diseases. The ones that sneak up on you into the night, similarly as Iouta's own father. Oh how he adores his parents, the brink of pain leading to motivation on an attempt to study what in the world could possibly be going on. It's one thing to get to a diagnosis, but treating it blindly is the real challenge of the greater picture, it'd allow him to keep focused on treating complex conditions that often span multiple systems in the body, giving the opportunity to understand and treat his patients comprehensively.

Within these four powerhouses of knowledge, showcase Iouta's determination to simply succeed and heal those in true need. Pockets of his personality and troubles all combine into substance that can be used for the greater good, a set of quick hands and a focused mind; confident and true. To be the answer of almost any need, is a desire he cannot leave behind.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?

Kinomoto has gotten some experience before this time in Karakura's hospital, the very first being his internship in a clinic just outside of Tokyo. Within this time, Iouta learned valuable skills, most notably patient management or 'Triage'. The prioritization some patients need is a skill that cannot be ignored, accurately treating those who needed it first whilst ensuring other patients weren't forgotten.

After three years of this simple internship, Iouta decided to take a residency in a hospital close to the clinic, of which many people were transferred to. Getting to know his peers and common patients that just seemed to do nothing but get injured, it was an enjoyable time overall for the fresh meat of a doctor. However, the traction and overdue hours had gotten the best of poor Iouta. He didn't hate being on duty all the time, but the sheer amount of people with understaffing made it far less pleasant than it could've been, missing the smaller towns.

After leaving his residency behind, he began to look into smaller hospital's that need more assistance, coming across Karakura's own and only general hospital.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Iouta is a stern young man, standing at 185 cm, with a quiet intensity that tends to keep people at an arm's length. He's always portrayed as tired. His heavy lidded eyes and dark circles hint at long, restless nights and a mind that rarely rests. But somehow, he to stay on top of things. His presence always remains grounded, almost intimidating and daunting at first, especially with his no-nonsense demeanor and sharp, observant gaze.

Despite his distant and out of reach exterior, those who devote the time to know him quickly learn that he's surprisingly fun to be around, once you break down that shell you get the good part of Iouta's personality! Iouta has a dry, often unexpected sense of humor, but truthfully his loyalty runs incredibly deep, deeper than most would've been able to assume at first glance. He's the kind of person who might not speak much, but when he does, it's worth listening to, he speaks with intent and purpose. Almost as if he's thinking every time before he speaks incredibly hard. His unique mix of exhaustion, competence, and hidden warmth make him both mysterious and memorable

His features remain sharp and defined, with high cheekbones and a strong jawline that give him a somewhat statuesque appearance. His eyes, a muted shade of grey, often seem to flicker with unspoken thoughts, quietly studying everything and everyone around him. There's a tired wisdom in the way he carries himself, like someone who's seen more than he lets on to be seen. His expressions are quite subtle-rarely dramatic, quietly studying everything and every single person that encases him as a person. It feels like the world shifts a little. Iouta's overall look is simple and understated, but everything around him seems deliberately chosen, from the way he dresses to the awkward way he stands at times, always with a quiet readiness that suggests Iouta is always prepared for anything. Iouta's personality!

How does your character act around the hospital?
On Duty:
Iouta is focused, composed, and dependable. He doesn’t waste time on small talk or dramatics, instead moving with quiet purpose through hallways and patient rooms. His observant gaze misses nothing as he scans for everything, and he maintains a sharp awareness of everything happening around him almost as if he's expecting it? Patients might initially find him a little cold or distant, but his competence quickly puts them at ease making sure he maintains patient comfortability over everything else. He’s not really the type to sugarcoat things, but he delivers even the hardest truths with a grounded calmness hoping to not overwhelm any patients with news, good or bad. Colleagues know him as the one who can be counted on in high-pressure situations—he doesn’t panic, he doesn’t fumble his responsibilities, and he definitely doesn’t show off. Who likes a showoff? No one. When he speaks, it's usually brief and straight to the point, but what he says often carries more weight than a full conversation due to Iouta choosing his choice of words incredibly carefully before spoken.

He doesn’t demand authority as Iouta is a non-confrontational individual, but it naturally gathers around him due to his reliability. Interns might be intimidated by him at first, but over time they realize he’s not unkind—just incredibly serious about his work. Those lucky enough to earn his trust might even catch a sarcastic remark or a deadpan joke in the middle of a stressful shift as he likes to keep the mood lighthearted even at the most stressful times.

Off Duty:
Off the clock, Iouta’s guard doesn’t come down entirely, but it softens quite a lot. He’s quieter than most in the break room or cafeteria, usually sitting with a book, a black coffee, or just watching the room while zoning out slightly. His exhaustion shows more plainly when he’s not “switched on,” but he still keeps a quiet readiness in his posture, like he's never fully relaxed and always anticipating something to happen. He likely spends his time off in the staff lounge tucked away from the crowd or walking the quieter parts of the hospital, letting his thoughts wander.

And if Iouta chooses to leave the hospital that day, he'll often find himself at the beach or a pond feeding ducks. Almost as if he's trying to quiet his mind from whatever's bothering him. He doesn't usually bring much with him—maybe a book he won’t actually read or just his hands in his coat pockets, letting the sound of water and rustling wind doing a number on the leaves do the talking. It’s one of the few places he allows himself to breathe, away from sterile lights and urgent footsteps whilst alarms from hospital beds blairing. There’s something about the stillness of the wind, the trees rustling and the birds chirping, the quiet presence of nature, that makes things feel a little less heavy and more relaxed. He rarely speaks during these moments, but if someone happened to sit beside him, he wouldn’t mind the company—as long as they understood the silence is part of the point.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?

Iouta functions best on his own, but not because he dislikes others—rather, because solitude gives him clarity with an increasing peace of mind. He’s incredibly self-reliant and often finds it easier to focus and stay efficient when he can work without distraction and keep his thoughts to himself. That said, he’s not a lone wolf out of pride; he simply trusts himself to get things done and struggles a bit with relying on others unless they’ve proven themselves dependable and as persistent as he is.

In group settings, he tends to take on a quiet, stabilizing & supportive role. He’s not the loud leader or the social glue, but he’s often the one keeping things grounded when tensions rise as him himself doesn't like tension in the air. While he might not actively seek out collaboration, he’s surprisingly good in a team once he settles into a rhythm almost like a beautiful crescendo—offering concise insight, calm under pressure, and unwavering loyalty to the task at hand. He doesn’t thrive on social energy, but he values competence and trust, and those who show him both will find a steadfast, quietly supportive ally in him.

Firstly, thank you for applying to the Hospital Faction, and we appreciate your interest. After discussing your application with the higher-ups, we've decided to place your application on pending due to a lack of available slots in the faction.

Nonetheless, we encourage you to keep an eye on the Karakura Emergency #announcements channel for future application waves, as when more spots open in the faction, your application will be re-reviewed and you are not required to submit a new application. However, we do recommend you spend time editing your application if you feel it necessary and are still interested in the faction. If in this time you decide you are no longer interested, change the title of this thread to "REMOVED".

This decision was made as a collective among a group of individuals. rather than a single individual. If you need any further assistance, feel free to privately message me - @6Pancake - via discord and we will solve any inquiries you may have.
