Describe your activity on the server:

My activity within this server ranges dependent on things like college, my two jobs and my time spent in the music industry in my own band and in my own solo music. With this, my activity on the server tends to receive a lovely 4-6 hours daily and has stayed this way since 2023, with consistent activity throughout my past factions and other experiences. Throughout my entire time in SchoolRP I’ve remained dedicated and committed to the server and with this, if my activity is due to change drastically, I will both DM and post an Inactivity Log within the dedicated channel. Generally, I am available most weekdays and weekends between 9am and 9pm, and I make a consistent effort to be active through peak times and hours where I know players will be on. I will put time aside throughout the week to play this server, and if any heavy shifts come in through work or through music then you will be let know, as well as this I will be constantly making sure that quota is hit, and trust me when I'm on it will not be an issue in the slightest.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:

Most of my time on the server has been spent across a wide range of roleplay styles and with a strong focus on developing my own consistency, professionalism and realism within the actions and my own style of roleplay. Since starting in late 2022, I have been involved in multiple areas including CrimeRP, AcademicRP, KPD, GovernmentRP and even running my own family before disbandment, Mues. This variety of experience has allowed me to build a well rounded understanding of the functionality of the server both in game and in discord, and how different factions operate and interact with one another.

Whilst CrimeRP played a significant role in building my confidence and decision-making skills, it heavily helped me develop a strong sense of situational awareness and the ability to remain composed in fast-paced and high-pressure scenarios. These are the skills that directly translate to EMS, and ones that I think that staying calm and thinking very clearly is essential to day-to-day roleplay. Being in CrimeRP, specifically BH and BMDA meant that I could get used to being precise, detailed and incredibly executary in the way that I act and get through my actions. This also taught me alot about constructing my character in a way that means that they are ridiculously interesting to roleplay, and be roleplayed with. AcademicRP was a place where I developed my organisational and management skills. Teaching required me to maintain my own consistent schedule that I crafted through Google Calendar. It also introduced me to logging, planning and handling responsibility in a professional manner. Being in the Academic side of this server meant that I literally could deal and learn to roleplay with a variety of people throughout my time there. Working in AcademicRP, especially as a Teacher and Councillor meant that I had to learn to deal with things like trolls, people trying to get a rise out of me and a variety of different roleplay styles from JockRP, DetailRP and so much more! This also heavily helped with the way I dealt with situations, learning to teach things like Greenies how to kinda do stuff, report things accordingly and make sure that time was put aside, specifically during school times to allow for my character and roleplay to shine through a little more! My time in GovernmentRP and KPD is where I gained the most valuable experience terms of professionalism and handling serious roleplay situations, learning to abide so much closer to rules, procedures and ways of my characters acting really helped with my experience in roleplay and the way I styled it out later down the line. Even in the present day I still have the habit of doing actions that have a good size of DetailRP, whilst being straight to the point and bang on with everything that I do.

What is your motivation for applying?:

Most of the motivation that comes to this faction is the fact that I want to better my own skills and interests within the realm of SchoolRP. EMS specifically in itself is one that needs so much skill or has the need to be able to exercise them. Communication, memory, social skills and dealing with situations in a rough time. Whilst I’ve gained these from my past experiences in KPD, improving on them and allowing myself to get back into these habits and ways of roleplay would be absolutely amazing. Another thing that makes me want to join EMS specifically is the amount of roleplay induced within it, whilst KPD was amazing for roleplay, the amount of combat and need to almost complete an activity quickly mean that for things like character to character relationships, there was alot of lacking in that and its something I think is a core part of this server. Joining EMS widens these branches of roleplay out for me and is absolutely amazing to me. KPD also heavily fueled this little passion to become a Doctor, working alongside EMS so coherently really meant that I could be able to see how much this faction impacts the server, the people in it and the roleplay that comes out of it. Additionally, I’d just love to be part of a faction again, what I missed most about SRP when I was on my break was the people within it, being able to go out and do stuff and not just sit through school and do almost pointless GangRP. Being in a faction would mean that my drive and passion for this server would return, and I know for a fact that EMS is the perfect place for my style of roleplay and my way of holding my characters, being so much more detailed and character driven in a way that I won't reach in other factions!

Which role are you applying for?:
I am applying for a place as a Doctor!

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?:

DoctorThese people are heavily trained and skilled individuals that treat those that are physically harmed or ill and need treatment beyond medication, as well as prescribing. This means that you can go from assigning medication to doing full scale operations to little intricate stitches and needed treatement. These people are the most crucial and needed individuals within the hospital, since they are the literal need of physical health and everything people need to stop themselves from losing their character or having it in deeper harm. They also tend to doing things like booking appointments, giving prosthetics, putting on casts, allowing for xrays and can be trained to be a vetanarian
ParamedicParamedics are often trained doctors that have to leave the hospital to commence treatment, and often tend to 110 calls that mean that the individual is in too much harm to be moved, or have to deal with things like bear calls or joining KPD for patrols. They are tasked to extend the time of someones life to the point where they can make it through the time to get back to hospital, treatement and they can also give first aid on sight. Paramedics are also trained to professionally drive a standard ambulance for patrols, ambulance calls and so forth. These are the bravest Doctors, and certainly one of the most notable.
PsychiatristWhilst my interactions with a Psychiatrist have only been due to character reasons with appointments, I know loosely their job within the faction. These individuals are trained to help the mentally unwell and to assist with any mental issues as well as emotional ones. Psychiatrists are trained to listen to patient's problems and evaluate any potential syndromes, mental disabilities and so forth, then moving to figure out which medications or advisory content that will allow for the patient to feel or act any better than they do in the moment. Often, roleplay with this faction relies on appointments, recommendations and so forth. We have those defending our physical health and those defending our mental health.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?:
I fully accept this as if myself was a Higher-Up, I would give out punishment.

Interviewer: "Good Afternoon, welcome to the interview stage - You made it through! Now to help me find your application please state your Full name."
[-]: Straightened slightly in his seat, setting his shoulders back with a quiet confidence. His hands rested neatly in his leather jacket pocket with a slight apple sense filling the room, his loosely cracked and clicked his neck as he met the interviewers gaze, and without hesitation stated "Riku, Riku Virtanen", allowing for his husky, calm voice to silently echo within the room.

Interviewer: "No problem, what is your Gender and Pronouns?"
Riku Virtanen: Faintly tilted his head as he followed along, as if acknowledging the routine of the question, his expression remained composed and a subtle softeness behind his eyelined eyes, "Male, He/They whichever floats your boat - I'm not strict about it," Giving a small polite nod and a slightly awkward purse of his lips.

Interviewer: "How old are you and please state your date of birth."
Riku Virtanen: A distinct stinge of amusement flickered his face - those corners of his lips lifting ever so slightly, he leaned back slightly on his chair, his right arm lifting from his pocket onto the side of the chair, his hands almost naturally curling, "Bold of you to ask hm?" He remarked lightly, a quiet exhale from his breath as an almost chuckle passed through his lips, then just as quickly as this joke came, "I'm joking, I am 29 and born on the 22nd of November back in 1996."

Interviewer: Raised a brow, a slight smile as they moved on to their next question "Tell me more about your academic background."
Riku Virtanen: "Let's see.. I graduated secondary school back in Finland and worked my way through college in Finland, and then studying University abroad in Japan. I tend to move alot, nothing particularly to it however in school, I was mostly a Straight A student, the occasional B but it's fine. Then moving through I worked myself up in college studying social studies, biology and chemistry. I passed here with a Diploma and with pure distinctions. Moving onto university I studied for a Medical Degree" Handed over his qualifications "So I don't think I did too bad hm?"

Interviewer: Gave a slight nod before moving on "So I take it you're finnish? We'll move on. What is your marital status and do you have any religious denomination?"
Riku Virtanen: Nodded as she stated Finnish, then listening out for his question he'd simply state "I am widowed, I am Atheist."

Interviewer: "Do you speak any languages other than Japanese?"
Riku: "I speak fluent Japanese, Chinese and Finnish."

Character Backstory (Optional):
guitarbby EMS Application NO1 (3) (1).gif

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?:

Orthopaedic surgery is their primarity speciality. Riku chose this field due to a deep fascination with the structural intergrity of the human body, specifically the skeletal system, ligaments and joints and how they work together to support movement and stability of a whole body and human! They were especially drawn to the precision needed and involved with diagnosing and repairing skeletal injuries, as well as the long-term impact and precision one must have to not cause negative impact later on in the patients life. Further than this, Riku values that his work can be seen rather than just heard, and seeing that someone can walk out of his ward when they came in walking, is just fascinating and really helps him build himself this own self-esteem. This also links to his trauma by losing his friend in the lake back in Finland (Explained in Backstory)

Emergency Medicine I would say is Riku's secondary speciality, driven by his own ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations like surgery and even on hand. Whilst orthopaedics focus on long-term repair, emergency care exposed them to the immediate response required for traumatic injuries like fractures, dislocations and severe physical trauma. Virtanen really looks after the urgency and unpredictability of the emergency department, where thinking on the spot and being decisive pretty much on command can directly influence patient survival, short term and log term outcomes. This really strengthens him both as a surgeon and a doctor, as they are often involved in the initial assesment on injury through to the use of surgery and recovery.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?:
"I mean I took a first aid course? No I'm joking, back in college I worked as a lifeguard at a local lake, I got on hand with alot of emergency situations - part of why I'm applying here. But y'know, that did it's job for a few years."

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Personality
Behind this rather stoic face, this man had the most observant personality that you've ever met, Riku'd often notice people at Plaza before you even see who's came through the front doors. He often chooses his words and thinks them through before stating them, not out of basic common sense but in the way that he likes to illustrate and propose himself in his own manner. Vertanen carries himself with this quiet, almost effortless confidence that rarely falters, most obvious in extremely high-pressure situations. There's a dry, almost constantly heard humour to him, constantly laced with sarcasm that may come to you as ****y, but infact is the most reflective self aware thing you've heard all day. More surprising than arrogant. However, Riku is someone with a deeply avoidant attitude, almost scared of conflict and connection over anything. He struggles with his own vulnerability, often choosing his own emotional control over connection with others, which makes him seem like he's emotionally distant when if anything he is just a scared little man. Whilst he works well in a team, he instinctively trusts himself over anyone else, occasionally brushing off input when he knows he's right.

Looks
Vertinan has a naturally sharp, defined appearance with a strong set jawline with features that give him a striking presence upon sight, demanding your attention without even asking for it. His brown curly hair falls slyly down his shoulders - shaping a grown out mullet yet accented with a mod cut. Outside of the hospital, this brown eyed doll tends to lean towards a darker, understated clothing often styled that makes him look effortless rather than put together - yet so fucking good. On shift, you'd always see his collar typically left with a single button undone at the neck, letting that scar on the right side of his throat shine in the dim hallway lights. Another thing you'll notice subtly, is that faint presence of eyeliner against his waterline and eyelashes, obviously put on the night before yet slept on and forgotten about - making Riku's gaze slightly more intense and almost tired. Paired with his extremely steady eye contact, you feel more direct and closer to Riku - yet so far. His face falls naturally into a slight smirk, maybe even the right side of his cheek being bitten on, quitely amused or concentrated on something he won't tell you about. His posture remains constantly composed, movements controlled yet relaxed and his hands perfectly steady.

How does your character act around the hospital?
Riku contains a constant composure and professionality within his place of work, especially the hospital. You would barely see him appearing to be rushed or overwhelmed regardless of the situation, he approaches all tasks with quiet confidence and an overtake of control without the need to raise his voice or assert himself - people just know. He tends to keep his talks with coworkers focused and efficient, yet not afraid to have saracastic conversations and be the light of the room - he will constantly break your silence with a stupid remark, even in the high-pressure situations. Whilst not the warmest in the room, he is your shoulder to cry on and is the sharpest hand in the force. He maintains emotional distance, keeping interactions professional yet still making himself laugh - though his presence is respected due to his consistency.

Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Riku naturally is a lone wolf, best working on his own and it means that he can rely on himself and his own judgement and maintain his own control in high-pressure situations and almost be his own boss. He's extremely confident in his own abilities and can work alone. That being said, he is far from incapable in a team environment. Riku understands that being a collaborative is very important in a hospital setting and he is able to work effectively alongside others when required. While he may not actively seek out feedback, he respects it and will engage with colleagues when possible!
