Describe your activity on the server: I log on pretty much every day when I have time, and play for a few hours, so I’m on pretty regularly. Since I’m aware that inactivity would cause me to be demoted, I plan on reaching out to either a faculty member or a moderator if I plan on taking any sort of time off for a long period.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?: As I acknowledged in my description of my activity, I am aware of the consequences of inactivity, and I am willing to accept if it comes to demotion.

School Employee Role you are applying for?: Counselor.

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for: A counselor in definition is: a person in a licensed position, trained to give guidance on a youth’s social and academic pursuits, serving as a voice of reason and a consultant. This ranges from short-term interventions to scheduling, and even the variety of small tasks they have to complete at random is hard to cover in a mere simplification of their profession. They often arrange events and safe spaces for students to feel comfortable or even entertained in a school environment. A counselor may strive to keep a youth’s mind captivated and make them aware of their full potential, persuading them to value their education. They discourage misbehavior and poor attendance, as well as anything that negatively impacts their students socially, mentally or physically while on school grounds. Their daily activities might include running data reports, holding and attending meetings, tracking student progress, and monitoring juveniles behavior and providing direct advice. In retrospect, I realize this isn’t everything they do, and that a day for a school counselor can never really be predicted, but these are rather common. Though they have a lot to do, a counselor’s most prominent job is simply to provide support to any troubled youth. They can do this through providing the student with coping mechanisms, a positive outlook, or knowledgeable context. Most importantly, lending an ear is what they are there to do.


What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?: I have a lot of experience with roleplay, since I've been in a few families, which is heavily impacted by the use of it. Although I’m not a huge detail roleplay user, I use it from time to time, often to display a character’s distinctive or instinctual fidgets or behavior, often conveying their demeanor to the third person. Funnily enough, I do like to detail cooking meals or baking, with large appends and whatnot. I think with that in mind, I am very open minded when it comes to detail roleplay, so I believe I can apply it to counseling and more serious roleplay. I’ve been playing since late 2022, so I have been around long enough to know what to do.

Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?: My Out Of Character motivation to join the school faction has been fueling itself for a solid year now. I made a few average applications, one I actually ended up submitting. It got declined, one for lack of space for me in that faction at that time, but secondly because I did not have a discord account and did not provide as much information as I would have liked to, or at least I assume that’s part of that problem. I hope it's different this time around. I feel like I haven’t been invested enough in the school aspect OF School Roleplay/Karakura High, and saw it more as a hub to just kinda be goofy (it is definitely a hub to be goofy, but there is more to it than that). I like fleshing out my characters, but I haven’t done it in a while, so I thought switching it up would help me find another way to engage with others in a new part of the server I haven’t explored at all: factions. I haven’t been in one ever, actually. Despite that, I know a lot of people who are in factions that I can go to for advice, and learn about this particular role. After being on the server for approximately two to three years, I’ve definitely become more interested, not to mention I have the resources to act on this interest, like I stated in the last paragraph. I think joining the School Employee Faction will help me from getting bored of School Roleplay, as well as sparking a newfound enjoyment of the server (when you’ve only ever been a grade-12 for this long, you are BOUND to get tired…)

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:

Lovone spared a quick glance at the youth, her expression nule with an undertone of bitterness. She’d save her breath, only regarding the student with a quick response:
“I suggest you choose your words more carefully. We wouldn’t want you regretting your use of them in the future, would we? If you'd like to talk about what's causing you such woe, we can. I'd like you to englighten me.”
Lovone would shake her head briefly, continuing with whatever task was at hand before her interruption.
(If the student’s comments persisted, she would simply hand them a detention slip.)



You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:

Lovone withheld her disdain for the immature altercation she had witnessed, keeping her mouth shut until she had swiftly approached the two culprits of the situation. Firmly, she spoke:
“Hands to yourselves, children; or you’ll have to take it up with faculty later today. Separate.”
As Lovone waited for the heat of the fight to settle, she’d have her radio at hand in case the fight persisted. On her own time, she would address the conflict with each student separately.
(Persisted or not, she’d hand the teenagers a detention slip. If it completely persisted, she’d also report for assistance with the situation, considering the severity.)



Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:

Lovone’s frown was present whilst she observed her peer’s actions. She’d pace around them, her posture completely straight, and ever-so-slightly pretentious. How shameful. Gently placing a finger on their shoulder, she’d speak, rather carefully. .despite the annoyance in her demeanor:
“I think it’s best if you reevaluate your strategies. This is highly brash, don’t you think?”
Lovone would leave the situation as it was after that suggestion.
(Though, if this was met with an equally inappropriate response or a variation of the sort, she would report their behavior to the higher ups if it became a recurring issue.)

When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
Lovone would remain composed, though small habits like scratching at the palms of her hands and constant tugging at the ends of her hair could lead to the assumption of held back anxiety. She would hardly move from the wall she’d lean against, unless she had to set down a coffee mug or talk to a fellow employee, (which she would often try to avoid doing unless necessary.) Lovone would wait out her break before silently leaving the room promptly as it ended. Perhaps her character felt like a bore to some, but in her mind, it was simply the politest thing to do.

Daphné Donna Lovone /me noticed the person in the corner, shaking and sobbing into their knees, seemingly struggling to breath properly. She’d tread over immediately, kneeling down to the slumped child’s level. Her hands rested on her thighs as she brought her knees to the floor, adjusting her skirt over them. Her tone became hushed, not to scare the child: “Breath, [INSERT LAST NAME], what you are feeling is disturbing, but it’s not dangerous.” She huffed lightly, her brow somewhat furrowed as she gently took the person’s trembling hands in her own, her thumbs moving in small circles upon their skin. Whilst offering some sort of comfort, Lovone made sure to make her own breath controlled and audible to them as she knelt there, as if to encourage the struggling child to breathe in unison with her. She’d continue with this pattern until the child stopped hyperventilating, and would pick up her radio, clicking the button: “I could use some assistance.”


Daphné Donna Lovone /me looked up briefly from her computer, her fingers pausing on the edge of the keyboard, resting them there as she turned her attention to the youth in front of her. She pushed up her glasses, straightening her back against her seat. Lovone spoke mildly, squinting her eyes at the person: “Good afternoon, [INSERT LAST NAME], I’d like to assume you’re well today. What can I do to assist you?” She’d assess the individual with a subtle once over, looking for any signs of injury, discomfort or distress. Lovone’s hands clasped together as she leaned her elbows forward on the surface.

Daphné Donna Lovone /me let out an almost ridiculously long sigh, as if it had come from her soul. . .How pitiful. Quite obviously, she did not verbally express her dismay keeping herself composed despite herself. She took another gaze at the statistics of [INSERT LAST NAME] and shifted her finger over their overall attendance rate. Quite poor. She gently expressed her concern, her expression softening to look at the teenager: “Look, [INSERT LAST NAME.] I am afraid you are falling behind your peers. I would like to see us talk about this, perhaps come up with something, yes?” Lovone nodded slowly, hoping to be met with an agreement.

Backstory:

Raised in the depths of the French Riviera in a conservative household, Lovone was born in the autumn of 1998, on the date of October 17. She was conceived by Gertrude Moneet Lovone, a retired ensemblist, and Hutter Claude Lovone, a photojournalist. She was the second born of three, the first of which being conceived by Mr. Lovone’s ex-wife, unbeknownst to her. As a youngster, she was not often left to her own devices, and always hovered over by her mother. Due to this, in her teenage years, she did not get out much. Mrs. Lovone would tutor her in her husband’s study, writing hand-written notes to their relatives and close friends to practice her handwriting, as well as stay in touch with their mutuals. Besides this, Lovone would hardly see anyone out of her private school. Often she’d wonder why she was focused on the most out of her father’s children, though the answer was quite clear: she was quite frankly his last hope. Her older brother had moved away to Italy to be with Mr. Lovone’s ex wife, his mother, and her younger sister was a harlot. She hardly ever saw them either, despite them having been her closest company since she was a child. Lovone’s interest in academics was rarely piqued, but discouraged from quitting by the sharp glare of her mother sitting across the long table that graced the room, she pushed on with her studies. She’d spend most of her time working on her diction, fluency with different languages, and biology, which she learned from reviewing her father’s articles, which included scientific references and photography. With a broad array of subjects constantly on her mind, a girl didn’t have much room to think for herself. She had minimal friends, barely dated, and hardly ever gallanted. On a summer evening of Lovone’s sweet sixteen, she attended her party with some family and friends on a holiday in Japan. Whilst a tension filled political discussion was had between Lovone’s parents and her aunt and uncle, her brother escorted her to the side to lament to her. Through his despair, he mentioned something he had hidden from Lovone her entire life; something that’d completely change her outlook on her seemingly well-mannered mother:

“She’s not my mother. Daphne. Patriarch committed adultery when I was young. She was his mistress. The woman is a concubine, and he is a mutt.”

Lovone was taken aback by the language her brother used; He even dropped the niceties halfway through, swearing and cursing their father and mother with every word under the sun. Shaken but enticed to see this as the truth, considering her brother had always been a man of his word, Lovone listened to him until it was over with, and left the room silently with glassy eyes. She felt resentment as she sat at the dinner table, her fork screeching against her plate as they dined. She didn’t just feel betrayed, she felt angered. Perhaps after enduring her mother’s controlling nature, and even at times, manipulation, this had just been enough for her. She couldn’t take another moment in that house, she decided. She never confronted her mother, but instead quietly spoke to her cousin the day after the party, and discussed moving to Japan with her. Her cousin encouraged the idea, which made Lovone ponder further. After a year of keeping her secret buried and tolerating the same type of busy-work day after day, the woman who had turned eighteen years of age announced her departure. Her parents were dismayed, but did not protest, aware that Lovone was legally an adult.

Lovone moved to Karakura and stayed with her cousin, Kaitlyn, in a small apartment complex on the outskirts of the city. She enrolled in their local college program after two years of living amongst the people. Lovone despised admitting it (and for a good reason), but the countless hours of forced education did stick with her, and even helped her at times. What she also noticed is that she felt a lot more at peace, yet at the same time, she almost disturbed by it. The lack of expectations made her tense, nearly to the point she felt like she had to make her own. Lovone struggled at times, but she graduated with quite a bit of praise from her professors, and a Bachelors in Psychology. Fresh out of school, a twenty-two year old Lovone had to ponder; What was next? It had felt like academics were the only thing that mattered in her life for decades. Lovone had a few small jobs here and there, her most prominent one being a marine biologist. She quit a few years later, deciding that she would rather not dedicate her time to sea creatures. Lovone searched for something new. She looked for something that’d intrigue her. She looked for something that was doable, but was different than what she had normally ever done; Thus, she submitted an application to become a counselor at the very school she had gone to when she had come to Karakura.


Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):

“This could be a new look for me. . .consulting at a highschool. Who would’ve thought. I suppose it couldn’t hurt, I have experience. I had to drag my drunken sister out of Monaco every other other weekend. Children aren’t all bad. Some of them are quite bright when they want to be. I’m sure they could use someone to listen to anyway. At least the place is familiar. . .How nostalgic. Quite odd.”

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
“These children could use a strong head on their shoulders, and I think I’d suit the role. I could offer them the correct amount of empathy and discipline, for I can understand their situation. I’ve been in their shoes, metaphorically speaking, and I know how it feels to perform under pressure. It’s strange. It’s terrible, in some cases, perhaps borderline unbearable. All they need is help. And I can’t see myself having anything else to do besides help them, so I will be of assistance whenever they need. I must say, I envy some of these individuals who have worked with children for years on end. I would hope to be tolerable for them. I could see myself starting to like them.
