School Employee Role you are applying for?: I am applying for Receptionist.
In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
A receptionist works throughout the school, but most commonly works at the front desk of a school. Receptionists have many jobs which they do throughout the school day. They keep records of students, use the intercom to locate or call in students to the front desk, and handle things such as money being passed to or from the school. In keeping records, they account things such as attendance records: Absences, tardies, etc. A receptionist could also be seen as the face of the school, greeting and welcoming visitors, students, and parents. Receptionists also keep records of things such as student’s information changing, keep track of who goes in and out of the school. They also assist in disciplinary actions, such as scheduling parent conferences, or managing detentions. To visitors, they provide information on school policies, directions, school events and activities, and contact information. They operate equipment - printers, computers, phones, etc.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
I joined SRP in the summer of 2023, and have been playing actively since then. So, that makes almost two years of playing in SRP! Throughout my time in SRP I have had involvement in various factions, and roleplay scenarios. Of these, I have been in gangrp, and spent a little time on the female basketball high school team. While in these small factions, I have had the opportunity to engage in roleplay specific to jocks and criminals, and I have had many unique roleplay experiences. I no longer gangrp, and do not plan to continue to. Of my two years on SRP, I have experienced many many different roleplay scenarios, and have contributed to the community.
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
Although I’ve spent some time on other factions, smaller factions, such as sports, I would like to broaden my opportunities in roleplay. This would allow me more unique experiences in roleplay. I believe the faculty faction would be a perfect fit, considering my past experience, and what I can bring to this faction. I admire how the faculty faction serves the SRP community and how close-knit they are. I am particularly drawn to the receptionist faction due to what they do, being helpful to others, assisting, welcoming, and a kind face for others to see. I believe a receptionist would be the perfect starting point for me in factions, where I can earn experience, and learn new things. In my time in sports, I learned things such as teamwork, communication, and coordination. How important these skills are to be in a bigger faction, and how to use them right and effectively. These skills are very important to use as a receptionist. I am eager to learn expectations of being a receptionist, and I am committed to being a helpful and active member of the faculty faction.

Situations
During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
His inked arms folded over each other. An eyebrow quirked, was he hearing correctly? Maybe he had to get his ears checked. . . His jaw tightened, his eyes flickering with impatience for just a moment. “You wouldn’t speak to your mother that way, would you?” His eyes flickered over the student a moment before glancing around. “First warning. No foul language in school.” He stated in a casual, yet firm tone. Lifting his arm up, he ran his fingers through his hair as he swiveled around on his heel. A controlled smile sat on his face as he waddled away.
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
The click of his shoes was heard as he rapidly approached the two. Tap, tap, tap. “What’s going on here?” He questioned, while his fingers fidgeted with the radio which sat clipped to his pocket. He stood between the pair, preventing them from further injuring each other. “Now, you two should know better than to solve your problems with violence.” He stated, reaching the hand which was fidgeting into his pocket. He pulled out two detention slips, handing one to each of the two students. “Next time, solve it with words. Or, I recommend speaking to one of the councillors here about it.”
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
The quick tapping of his shoes against the floor was heard. His arm reached out, his hand swiftly grasping the employee’s arm. “Now, let’s not do this. . . Here.” He whispered quietly, tugging lightly at the employee’s arm, signaling for them to come with him. “Now, it’s not my job to give you warnings, that’s… someone else’s job. But what you were doing is completely unprofessional and inappropriate to do here.” His eyes traced the employee up and down. Who in their right mind? He proceeded to unclip the radio from his pants, holding it up to his mouth. “Requesting SLT. . .” As SLT arrived, he gave a slight bow, beginning to explain the situation.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
His lips formed into a duck lip form, a high pitched, smooth whistle came from him. His shoulders jutted from side to side as he danced to his own whistling. His head nodded up and down as he continued, he was really into whatever he was whistling! From the side, he noticed his coworker, staring. An awkward laugh escaped his lips as they curved into the sort of smile you would smile when there’s awkward silence. There indeed was, an awkward silence. He held his hand up, giving a small wave, a small “heh..” was heard. He turned back to what he was doing, making a cup of jasmine tea for himself. . .
Provide us with at least three detailed /me's of your character whilst on your chosen role:
/me Sat, rather idly at his desk. His fingers tapped against the quartz table top. Tap, tap, tap. His other hand was used as support for his head, which leaned against it. He hummed quietly, a familiar tune which his mother used to sing to him as a child. As someone walked up, his humming faded, a warm smile replacing it. “Hello! How may I help you today?” He stated, his eyes gazing at the person. Fixed his posture, not wanting to seem uninterested in the conversation. He nodded as he listened, folding his hands together.
/me Traced a paperclip over the bridge of his nose, his dark eyes wandering across the desk. He supposed he should do something instead of just sitting there. Clearing his throat, he reached under the desk, picking up a plastic spray bottle. He whistled a traditional Korean tune as he sprayed the liquid into the top of the desk. He reached down under the desk once again, picking up a microfiber cloth. His whistling shifted into a light humming as he scrubbed off the liquid. He glanced up, giving a two-fingered wave towards a student before shifting back to the desk. He sprayed onto the glass, wiping it off too. He paused, taking a step back, overlooking his work. “That’s. . . alright I guess.” Sighed. He picked up a misplaced notebook, setting it onto a pile of other notebooks. “There.” He nodded in approval to himself.
/me The familiar whistle that was heard from him echoed through the hallways, along with the pitter patter of his shoes. Tap, tap, tap. The keys attached to his pants jingled, his hand lingered over his radio. Grinned, greeting a student walking across from him with a bow. He reached the detention door, setting his hand onto the handle and pushing the door open. He chewed on his bottom lip as he examined the room. A bit untidy, but he guessed that’s what he was here for, right? “Not too many students here today, huh? Guess their behavior is getting better..!” He noted, with a slight chuckle. It was his attempt at a joke towards a coworker. He awkwardly laughed, never again. His inked arms crossed over each other, he felt like a big kid now, all responsible!

Backstory
Jun-seo was born into a quiet, still household in Boseong, South Korea. Boseong was famous for its green tea leaves. Jun-seo was born to Chihiro Maezuka, who was Japanese and Ji-sung Maezuka, who was born in the same town Jun-seo was born. Jun-seo spent most of his time picking green tea leaves with his father, or learning with his mother, who homeschooled him. He was used to the amount of tourists who came to visit Boseong, but never really liked them. He wasn’t a big fan of crowds. He was told that if the number of people in a room was more than seven he would insist on leaving, being rather persistent at it too. Jun was a quiet child, the statement was brought up numerous times by his peers. As Jun grew up, he kept the same, shy, quiet demeanor. When Jun was around 10 he lost his mother to sickness. His father struggled, but managed to provide for himself and his children. Jun-seo had one other sibling, a younger sister named Saisai. When Jun was young, he would speak to his mother about his passions. He spoke of becoming an artist and creating art, something he really enjoyed at the time. After his mother’s passing, he grew more into the love of plants, something his mother enjoyed. Jun began going to a local school after his mother’s passing, and never grew too close to his father. His father did not support his dreams, whenever mentioned.
At the age of eighteen, Jun-seo made the decision to move to Chubu, Japan. His reasoning for this? It was the birthplace of his mother, and where she had grown up until she was around eighteen. He wanted to learn her culture, and to learn the language as his mother never taught him Japanese. Here, he spent the money he had saved up from selling green tea, using it to rent a small apartment. For around a month, he used a translator app to communicate with the locals. Learning Japanese was the hardest thing for him, he got books, flash cards, even posters to help him learn the language quicker. The flash cards made him feel like a child, but he was dedicated to learning the language. He also enrolled into a university, choosing to study Japanese. As he learned the language, he began to explore the town more openly. He also took up a job at the local post office. Chubu was a very traditional, small town. It reminded him of Boseong, just with fewer green tea plants. He stayed here, studying for four years, earning his bachelor’s degree. In his time at the university, he made friends, but found himself still feeling like his younger self, never drawn to crowds. Jun never found himself in a romantic relationship, he focused more on friendships. He majored in Botany, following his mother’s footsteps of loving plants. And he studied photography for a minor, he still had passion for art.
As he stayed, he learned more about Japanese culture, and had even come across a lot of things that were in the stories his mother told him as a child, which he thought drew him closer to her in a way. At the age of twenty-four, Jun-seo had graduated. The only idea he had now was to go on vacation! Where? He didn’t know. Rather spontaneously, he whipped out a map, somewhere in Japan. . . Karakura? That seemed like a nice name, maybe they had a beach! (Jun-seo wasn’t the smartest at knowing that you’re supposed to at least look up a place before going there, not just picking from a map.) Hence, he booked a flight there, in hopes that maybe he could learn more about Japanese culture. He wasn’t sure. There weren't exactly high hopes for this trip, not low hopes either! As he arrived, his eyes traced the town. It was similar to Iksan, in his opinion. There just wasn’t anything too special. But as he spent more time in the town, he grew rather attached to it. It was mid march when he had arrived, a couple of days of staying in Karakura only made his curiosity grow. Would the cherry blossoms bloom around the same time as they did in Chubu? He spent most of his time around the shrine, the only thing there interesting to him were the cherry blossoms, or the books which he read under them. He once again made the decision to move. It wasn’t like he was leaving too much behind, just the old college he went to.
In his time in Karakura, he would spend most of his time around the shrine, or on the beach. He dreaded the winter, there wasn’t much to do then. . . His attention was drawn to the big school in the middle of the town. Particularly, he was drawn to the intricity of the plants which were in the school. He also admired the workers, how much work they put into the school, and the students. The Zen garden was his absolute favorite, and he would photograph the crying woman statue, and also plants. After about two years of standing and admiring, he decided it was time he did something, giving his best attempt to become a receptionist. He never thought he’d be one to want a job like this one, but he was drawn to it.
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
A smile appeared on his face, and a slight chuckle was heard as he reached his hand up, scratching the back of his neck. “Ah! Well, this is sort of embarrassing.” He paused for a moment. “As you know, I studied Botany in college. I grew up around plants, and I moved here away from Chubu. Originally, I came here for a vacation.. Karakura seemed like a nice name on the map!” He laughed, holding his hand on the back of his neck. Clearing his throat, he continued on. “When I got to the town, I realized it was quite. . . peaceful.” Remembered first getting to Karakura. It looked as if he was back there, first seeing the town in all its beauty. “I thought the cherry blossoms here were very beautiful! Especially in the spring. The town itself was interesting to me, but I didn’t expect all too much when I came here, in all honesty.” Bowed his head slightly, as if apologizing for his story. “Ah, but the cherry blossoms here are really quite beautiful. A lot of the plants here are very pretty, especially in the warmer months, or. . . at the shrine!” Had he gotten carried away talking about plants? He put his arm down. “But, through my time here, I guess it’s been what- two, three years since I moved here? I noticed the school, almost as if it was the center of Karakura. I believe education is really important for everyone, and the dedication from the workers was very moving, very- dedicated! It inspired me to think how I could myself contribute to the town. Joining the Karakura High school seemed like the perfect fit! I love working with kids, and from what I’ve heard, it’s an amazing job to have here in Karakura." Gave a slight nod with his head, indicating that he was finished speaking. He awaited the next question.
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
Wasn’t all too prepared for this question, but he gave a nod towards the interviewer nonetheless. “I think I should be accepted over other applicants due to my experience. In the past, I have been involved in extracurricular activities that have brought me where I am today. They taught me teamwork, communication, coordination, and how communication with others is important! I believe the things I listed are most important, and I believe I demonstrate all of these skills. I am eager to begin learning and growing more at Karakura High, I believe you guys are a perfect fit to me, and I hope I am a good fit for you guys as well." Gave another subtle bow with his head.
