Describe your activity on the server:

I would describe my activity as very active, I am available every day and often am online every day. I am available according to this table, though, on Discord you can reach me more frequently. I often spend my time online roleplaying with other players, or overall interacting with the community. If not roleplaying, I will often be working on my attributes, such as swimming.
Monday - Friday SaturdaySunday
4 PM - 12 PM All day All day

What is your motivation for applying?

Initially, the thought of applying for the KPD felt intimidating, as I doubted that I had the necessary skills or experience. However, my involvement in various factions, particularly crime, has given me valuable insights on criminal behavior, and the challenges that KPD faces. Through these experiences, I have learned to think strategically, stay composed under pressure, to think ahead, be effective with a team, qualities I believe are essential for a KPD officer, with teamwork, I consider, being the most important of them all.

Additionally, I have always wanted to join the KPD, and I have admired how they serve the community on SRP, even while I was on the other side. Witnessing their composure, the uniqueness in their roleplay style, and their commitment to their duties has inspired me to strive to be on a similar level of dedication. Beyond that, I value their commitment to working with the community, and how open they are to interacting and engaging with them. I also strive to similarly build positive relationships with others, adding to the positive and inclusive environment of the server.

Furthermore, being in KPD will open up more opportunities to me, allowing more unique experiences in roleplay. I am eager to help contribute to the KPD and participate in maintaining the law. I am excited and committed to learning and growing more through others. I hope that my experiences and dedication prove that I will be a good contributor to the KPD.

What knowledge do you have of police work?

The main goal and task of the Police is to ensure the safety of people, and to maintain general order within the public. To assist them in doing their job, police rely on specialized items. They also rely on canines to help them fulfill their duties. There is much equipment in which they use, some common tools used by police include:

Equipment:

Baton: Batons are used as a defense and/or compliance tool, and are accessible to all types of officers. Batons are often made out of wood, plastic, metal, or rubber.

Handcuffs: Handcuffs are two metal rings linked by a chain, and are used to restrain individuals in custody, or arrested individuals. These often help prevent individuals from escaping, or causing harm towards others.

Police radio: Radios kept on an emergency unit at all times while on duty, a form of communication for the officers. These assist in communicating the need of dispatch of other officers towards an area, or other emergency units. Whilst using the radio, Police also use codes, specific words indicating a certain area or location in which they dispatch to, or to describe a situation currently happening.

Riot shield: A shield held by an officer during things such as public disturbances, used for protection against anything threatening, or projectiles flung towards an officer during public disturbances, such as a riot, hence the name.

Pepper spray: A spray containing oils derived from cayenne pepper. Pepper spray is often used for protection in riot control, and self-defense. When used, it is sprayed into the eyes of a threat. After being used, pepper spray restricts the sight of whoever it is used on.

Body cameras: Seen on the vests of officers, worn at all times while on duty, is used to record anything that happens while an officer is on duty and is useful for reviewing situations.

There are also rankings of police. Depending on the area, rankings could range from these:

Roles:

Patrol officer: This is the standard “beginning level” of a police officer. Patrol officers patrol areas which they are assigned to, respond to calls, or sit at the front desk, responding to citizen’s questions.

Detectives: Detectives are known for investigating, gaining more information, whether that be through interviewing suspects, or witnesses. Detectives focus on investigations of crimes, and gather evidence.

Sergeant: Oversee Detectives and their divisions, they also oversee patrol officers, make sure that everything is in order. They also organise things such as schedules.

Lieutenant: Oversee Sergeants, they can also be responsible for overseeing specific divisions.

Deputy-Chief: Below the Chief of Police, report to the Chief of Police on everything, they are responsible for many of the major functions of the Police.

Chief of Police: The highest rank a police officer can be, head of police, oversee everything, and they make the decisions on what happens.

Different rankings of police means different roles. While on the job, depending on the rank, or role, they have different tasks in which they are assigned to. These contain, but are not limited to: patrolling, responding to calls, or staying at the desk, responding to complaints from the community. Altogether, their main goal and task is to stop crime, ensure safety of people, investigate crimes, and maintain public order.

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?
The police are important to SchoolRP for multiple reasons. For one, they help other factions, particularly the EMS faction, by bringing valuable support and backup where people are injured. They make sure that the EMS can safely take care of and transport injured people. The main job of the police is to take care of crimes, interviewing witnesses, investigating, and arresting criminals involved in illegal activities. They also build bonds with the community, ensuring the safety of them, and maintaining order within the community.

Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?

Yes, and I will take the consequences if I do not attend whilst online.

In-Character (IC) Section

What's your character's full name?:
Gave a swift nodding motion with her head. She began to speak, her voice coming out bold and firm. This interview was something new, and she hoped she wouldn’t disappoint. She was nervous, the tapping of her fingers on the table was indicative of such. “My full name is Iniko Kamau Komaeda.” She stated, with a friendly, but nervous smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Her eyes gazed to the side for just a moment, before flickering back to the interviewer. “It’s a pleasure to be here.” Slowly, she dipped her head in a bowing motion.

How old is your character? (If accepted)?:
Leaned in, her face remained serious, despite her nerves. “I am currently twenty-six.” She replied, shifting in her seat a bit.

What are your character’s gender and pronouns?:
Scratched the back of her head. “I am a female. Though, I don’t have much preference for what people call me by.” She shrugged her shoulders; a small, dismissive gesture.

Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application:
My current highest academic role at the time of writing this application is Masters!

What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
Nodded, flashing a smile. Remembering it was best to keep her composure, she allowed the smile on her face to fade as she clasped her hands together. “I know JSL and Spanish, both learned from an old roommate of mine.”

Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?:

The slender female before you stood at 5 '6, rather short compared to Karakura’s standards. At a glance, the first noticeable thing about her was her hair. She had black braids, woven in with blue and white braids. Together, they were styled in a braid-out ponytail, which cascaded elegantly down her back in curls. Her face was adorned by a multitude of piercings: a septum piercing and snake bites, among others. Her eyes were a deep, rich brown, captivating and alluring. The air around her carried a resilient, strong, and friendly likeness.

How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?:

In a professional situation:
Iniko’s demeanor will be composed, focused, polite, and humble. She will remain set on task, mature under circumstances in which she encounters. She will often avoid focusing on others acting immaturely in a professional situation.

In a typical casual situation: In a typical casual situation, Iniko’s demeanor will be more relaxed, more approachable, expressing her light-hearted personality. Even when she is still mature, a casual situation is where her personality really blossoms. She is more conversational, attempting to make conversation with others and making jokes.

What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?:
Crossed her arms, tilting her head. “Well, I suppose the whole reason for teamwork is to work together to get a common goal done, yes?" She’d raise an eyebrow, maybe expecting a response? "It wouldn't be fair if we were all working for one thing separately, we need each other for support and strength.” She paused a moment, before continuing, answering the second part of the question. “I love co-workers! I love working with people, and interacting with them. I get along well with others, and enjoy socializing with them. I would consider myself an extrovert.”

What's your character's backstory?:

It was a cold, crisp morning in the year of 1997. At first glance, the grass was frosted over, and was a milky sage colour. Twenty-three year old Imani Kamau and twenty-two year old Zion Kamau had recently given birth to a daughter who they named Iniko. She would go on to be brought up in a house as quiet as its neighborhood, near the coast of the busy and lively city of Cardiff, Wales.
It was here where her parents were studying in college. Her mother, Imani, aiming to become a nurse. She was known by her sweet demeanor, compassionate towards all despite her quiet nature. Apart from college, Imani had an internship at the local hospital, where she'd spent most of her time. Her father, on the other hand, studied arts, sculpting in particular. At the same time, worked from home, refining his other passion of fashion as a tailor. Zion was known for being practical, driven, and skillful, always making the best with what he had.
His skills did not go unnoticed, attracting a constant variety of customers for his services. However, none of the customers were particularly noteworthy, except for a gruff, young Japanese man, Kome Komaeda. He was always seen with neatly combed, short blonde hair, the air around him a crisp, composed, and quiet quality. Despite his anonymous reputation in the community due to the numerous travels, the man would frequently visit the Kamau household during his time in the UK, eventually creating a close bond with the family overtime. About six years into Iniko's life, her parents were faced with the misfortune of financial instability after the accidental birth of their second daughter, Yelena Kamau. Due to their circumstances, the couple made the unfortunate, and desperate decision to turn to crime.
In the midst of their activities, a friend of theirs informed them of a business deal with a prominent Russian bratva. The couple refused the offer, deeming the deal too unfair. The friend who had informed them of the deal was offended, and pressed on, eventually convincing them both to sneak into the warehouse with them, to steal from the bratva - call it a heist. Not long into the heist, the group was caught. All three fled, the Kamaus swiftly getting to the safety of their house. There, they called Kome, who wasn't too far away. Iniko was handed off to Kome, before they were interrupted at the crossroads of an alleyway after being tracked down. Kome brought Iniko, who at this point was crying profusely, to safety.
Iniko just had her first taste of crime, and it left a bitter taste on her tongue. Today, Iniko will blame crime for her separation from her parents, and is disgusted by how crime can destroy lives, as it did to her own life. Kome flew back to Japan alongside Iniko, back to his home. Here, she met his four other children, Senju, Chino, Airi, and Ayumi. At first, it was awkward, the house was big, and each of the children were taught by a private tutor. The city they were in was loud, similar to Cardiff. Iniko had soon discovered that Kome would not be around often, the idea was not at all peculiar to the other Komaeda children, who had normalized it.
Iniko grew up in the Komaeda estate for the next twelve years, learning skills to properly care for the other children, relying on one another, and the money sent by Kome. During high school, Iniko became close with Kōji Araki, often finding herself spending more and more time around there due to the resonating feeling of family from the presence of the household members. She grew close specifically to Kentaro Araki, Kōji’s father. He worked as a police officer, which Iniko was intrigued by. his line of work, with it reminding her of her Mother's work. Around the age of sixteen, she was sure of her dreams of becoming an officer herself, following in the footsteps of Kentaro. Each of the members made her feel at home, where in contrast, at the Komaeda household, the children were not as close.
Many of the Komaeda children spent their time in town, creating havoc, purely in the name of fun. Thus, Iniko never grew close with any of them, even failing her attempts at doing so, as they didn't reciprocate the same effort. By the time she had turned 18, the Komaedas decided that they would move to Karakura, to get out of their city, and to explore more of Japan. In Karakura, Iniko began her studies to become an officer.

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?:
Shook her head at the interviewer, folding her arms over each other. “No, you cannot legally own a pocket knife in Karakura.” She kept her answer short, and to the point, awaiting the next question.

Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription:
“Hmm.. let’s see.” Iniko extended her arm out, her hand in a fist. She extended a finger from the fist each time she would note an item. “Iron supplements, A wooden cane, a hearing aid, glasses, and an eyepatch.”

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?:
A grimace crossed over her face, the thought completely disgusted her. “Well, I would interfere, and report the co-workers who were abusing.” Paused a moment, her eyes shifting around. She continued on. “I would also arrest, if needed.”

What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?:
Nodded, signaling that she had understood the question. “I should give my co-worker help, defending them against any assault. And I should also call for backup via radio.” - “I would also arrest the person doing the assaulting.”

What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?:
Sat idly in her seat a moment, before beginning her reply. “I would report said co-worker to higher-ups, and give them any evidence that I can provide of this co-worker being corrupt.” She stated, leaning back against the chair. Gave a slight nod, indicating that she was finished answering the question.

How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?:
“Bribe me?” She questioned. Who would be dumb enough to do that? “Well, I wouldn’t accept the bribe.. I would then fine the criminal.”
