Describe your activity on SchoolRP:
I would say my activity is very dependent on my work schedule and if any events pop up, but for the most part, I am pretty active. I usually get on when I leave work at around 4-5 p.m. and stay on until 11 p.m.–12 a.m. on weekdays. On weekends, when I don’t have work, I tend to stay up a lot longer, usually from whenever I wake up (so, anywhere from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and play until 2-3 a.m. If I had to rate my activity, I would give it a solid 8/10, with it being very rare that I don’t get on for at least a few minutes once a day, unless I go on a trip or have something planned for the day that tires me out.

Here’s a more outlined version of my schedule though.

Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:
I’ll separate this into my experience with roleplay as a whole, and then in SRP.

[As a whole]
In general, I would say I’m an experienced roleplayer, with my experience starting when I was a pretty young kid, around 9–10 years ago, when I stumbled upon the YouTube channel Samgladiator. It introduced me to Minecraft roleplay and the concept of storytelling through roleplay. From then on, I myself started to roleplay through different ways, from online forums to hopping through random worlds on Hypixel. I began to branch out and try to roleplay and build stories in many different ways, creating numerous characters and storylines, some I don’t even really remember all too well.

[In regards to SRP]
I’ve been playing on SRP for some time now, and I would say I’ve done enough to be somewhat experienced in regards to roleplaying on SRP, being very active when it comes to doing DetailRP, CombatRP through forms of P2L, and some other types like cookingRP. But that is still very limited to what I’m able to do as a grade 12 or college character. I’ve tried to expand as much as possible, finding different ways to roleplay, like working in shops to expand on some of my characters’ hobbies like cooking. I also try to interact with different groups, like, of course, my characters’ coworkers whenever they work shifts in shops, or putting them in clubs or bands.

What are your current roles on SchoolRP?:
On my WhisperTheFallen account, I have two grade 12 roles, one bird role, one grade 8 role, and one college bachelor’s role.
On BaBallin, I only have grade 12 roles.

What is the subject you want to teach?:
Criminal Justice

TRIVIA SECTION

What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:

My main motivation is to branch out in the types of roleplay I engage in. As mentioned before, with limited experiences as a Grade 12 student, I’ve wanted to roleplay more around the town. I was once a judge, and that provided plenty of fun new experiences and friendships. I’ve already seen and experienced various types of RP within the town, including interactions with the KPD, but now I want to explore more of the school side by roleplaying as a professor, specifically in Criminal Justice. This is a subject I studied throughout high school and also one of the subjects I minored in during college.

Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:

1.

This would be a rather basic assignment that would take place while teaching Unit 4 of my class. Unit 4 would be Criminal Psychology and Offender Profiling. The class would be a kind of hands-on way to assess the psychology of criminals by applying psychological and criminological theories to assess and profile a case.

The instructions would be simple; the students would pretend they’re behavioral ****ysts. They’ll be given a book that contains info on a fake criminal, and their goal is going to be creating a psychological profile on the criminal. The report should include things such as basic background info, name, birthdate, age, etc. It should also include likely motivations for acting on said crimes, relevant criminological theories that could apply to the criminal, and a risk assessment.

To make things a bit more fun, students could be given the option to make a profile on a fictional character of their choosing. At the end of it, if there’s extra time, I’d go over why this is important and the skills that they should have trained during this exercise.

2.
Mock Trial:
In this lesson, we would conduct a mock trial with the objective of understanding courtroom procedures, trial flow, and how arguments are presented in court.

Students would receive a fictional case and be assigned roles such as judge, jury, defense attorney, prosecutor, defendant, and witnesses.

The trial would include an opening statement, direct and cross-examinations, witness testimonies, closing arguments, and jury deliberation, followed by a verdict.

Ideally, this would span two class periods, perhaps taking up 2nd and 3rd period, with 4th period used for a wrap-up session discussing what was learned and what could be improved in future trials.

This lesson would most likely be at the end of Unit 3, which would be the court system unit.

Work out a field trip (a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:
Because Criminal Justice is such a broad subject encompassing many careers, I would organize a field trip around Karakura to introduce students to different branches of the field.

First, we would visit the hospital to speak with a psychiatrist about how psychology and past trauma affect criminal behavior. Then, we’d head to the Town Hall to meet with a judge, lawyer, or possibly the governor to discuss how the judicial system works and how laws are applied in court. Lastly, we’d visit the KPD to observe the inner workings of law enforcement, such as report writing, evidence handling, and understanding what it truly means to be a police officer.

OOCly, this would ideally take up an entire school day. I would coordinate with the respective factions ahead of time, maybe creating a group chat to plan and script the sessions so the trip runs smoothly.

SCENARIO SECTION

Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?

If Kurai saw something like that, he wouldn’t waste time just watching, he’d step in right away. And not wanting to assume the worst is happening. He’d walk over, and ask the group to give the student some space. He’s not the type to start yelling unless things get out of hand, so he’d try to talk first. He’d ask what’s going on and let them explain their side. If it turns out they were just joking around or it was some misunderstanding, he’d still explain why what they were doing could come off the wrong way. Being surrounded like that, especially by older students, can be really intimidating, especially for someone younger. But if it looked like real bullying, he'd call them out on it, tell them it’s unacceptable, and assign detention right there if needed. and check in on the bobcat jock afterward to make sure they were okay. Kurai doesn’t stand for that kind of thing, especially when older students should know better being what is basically grown adults.

Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?
Kurai doesn’t believe there’s such a thing as a “stupid” question, but he does believe there’s a time and place for everything. If a student kept asking off-topic or silly questions during detention, he’d first try to handle it with a lev of patience. He’d let them know, that detention isn’t the place for playing around and that they need to focus on the task at hand. If the questions were about the assignment they were given, Kurai would try to help as best he could, without giving away answers. He’d give a simple explanation if it was something he knew, or encourage the student to do their best and try it on their own. He wouldn’t want to shut them down if they were genuinely trying. But if the student was clearly just trying to be funny or distract others, he’d give them a warning. If they kept it up, he’d ignore the behavior and inform SLT because Kurais patience only runs so thin when being in these types of situations.

Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and calling out other students in the class, what would your character do?:
If Kurai saw that happening in his classroom, he’d stop teaching and give the group his full attention. He’d walk over, and ask them to put the phones away and stop interrupting class. He’d explain that their actions are distracting not only to him, but to every other student trying to learn. he’d remind them that how they act matters If they kept disrupting class after the first warning, he would simply give them detention then kick them out of his class, Kurai believes in giving people the chance to fix their behavior, but that once again only goes so far especially with people in positions where they should clearly know better like cheerleaders.

Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?:
If Kurai saw students fighting, the first thing he’d do is speak up loud and clear to try and break it up verbally. He’d tell them to stop immediately and If they didn’t stop, and he felt it was safe to step in physically, he would try to separate them carefully, he’s not the type to get aggressive, but he won’t just stand by either. But if trying to step in didn’t work, he’d call for backup right away, either another staff member or SLT. While waiting, he’d stay close and keep trying to de-escalate with his words. Once the fight was under control, he’d check if either of the students were hurt and send them to the nurse if needed.
After that, he’d give them both detention for fighting and have a one-on-one talk with each of them. He’d want to understand what caused the fight, get the full story, and make sure it’s reported properly to SLT so it can be handled the right way. Kurai being a criminal justice professor would obviously know that fights don't just break out too randomly and would want to address the real problem so it truly doesn't happen again.

CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What do they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?

In appearance, Kurai is a rather tall man, standing at a height of 6’5”. He wouldn't be buff, but not weak either, more of a swimmer's build. He has jet-black hair with slightly fluffy curls at the ends. As intimidating as he may seem at first glance, he always wears a kind smile on his face that softens his overall appearance. Combined with his soft blue eyes, he comes off more like a large gentle giant. He also always carries the faint smell of green tea.

At his core, Kurai always tries his best to be kind, understanding, and patient. With his minor in psychology, he knows a bit more about the human psyche, so he puts in the effort to be as empathetic as possible. He prefers to gather evidence before judging someone’s character, always wanting to understand why people are the way they are. In a professional setting, Kurai is just that, professional. However, he’s naturally playful, so while he knows when to be serious, he enjoys maintaining a friendly relationship with his students. His outlook on them is that they’re as human as anyone else, sometimes they need a safe space, and he’s happy to provide one. That said, if pushed, he’ll remind them that as friendly as he is, he is still their professor and deserves to be respected as such.

Outside of school, Kurai is very playful and silly. He loves to explore and learn new things, often spouting random fun facts to anyone willing to listen. One of his favorite things to do is share strange bug facts with those who’ll humor him. His view of coworkers and other teachers depends heavily on their personalities, so long as they treat him with respect, he harbors no ill will. That said, beneath his cheerful and carefree demeanor, Kurai carries deep-rooted trauma from his past. He tends to bottle up negative emotions. He’d never lash out at others, but he certainly carries the capacity for intense feelings, be it love or hate.

Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended. Make sure this is over 100 words.

Kurai’s life didn’t start out the prettiest. From as young as he could remember, it seemed like the world had it out for him. It was just him and his mom in the beginning. They lived in Greece, specifically in a poorer neighborhood, with Kurai’s mom often surviving paycheck to paycheck. This continued until Kurai was about 10 years old. During that time, his mother lost her job. However, luck found them when she was offered a job opportunity in Japan. She quickly accepted, and soon after, they began their move to start a better life.

Once they arrived, things seemed to improve. Kurai and his mother lived together for about two more years before, tragically, she passed away. Having overworked herself to the point of exhaustion, she never recovered. Investigations later revealed that her company showed little to no concern for her wellbeing, consistently piling more work onto her and threatening her job if she didn’t meet impossible expectations. They got away without consequence. Witnessing this injustice firsthand is what inspired Kurai to pursue a career in law and criminal justice, he wanted to give a voice to those who never got a fair chance, just like his mother.

Following this, he threw himself into his studies with laser focus. He didn’t allow himself much rest, nor did he pursue many social interactions outside of small jobs to help pay for college and cover basic living expenses. After years of dedication, he finally earned his Ph.D. at the age of 28. He worked at a law firm until he turned 30, when he became a judge in Karakura.

After becoming a judge, things started to look up. He entered a relationship with a fellow judge, which blossomed into deep love. They got engaged, and he adopted children. Life was finally something he could feel proud of. Sure, there were bumps, like his kids not being the most morally sound, but he loved them and did his best to guide them.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end.

On the day of their honeymoon, Kurai’s wife was killed. Spiraling into a deep depression, he stepped away from Karakura, unable to bear the weight of his grief. To make matters worse, his children didn’t come with him. He still believes that if he hadn’t left them behind, they might still be alive. Kurai knew his children were, for better or worse, involved in criminal activities. He tried over and over to pull them away from that life. Maybe, for a moment, he succeeded. But after his wife’s death, they stopped listening, and ultimately, they died. They didn’t make it out.

Kurai stayed away from Karakura for a long time, consumed by guilt and sorrow. But something, perhaps the memory of his mother’s sacrifices, convinced him that he couldn’t just run forever. He had to face what haunted him.

So, he returned to Karakura. This time, with a new goal; to become a professor. He wanted to guide students the way he failed to guide his own children. After taking time to familiarize himself with grading systems and completing a few teacher prep courses, Kurai decided to apply for a position as a professor at Karakura Academy.
