Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
First, teachers play such an important role within SchoolRP to make the school world organized, immersive, and engaging. They draft lesson plans, manage students inside of their classrooms, and promote order broad scope which is what made a realistic and fun school environment come to life. When you have teachers, it adds more realism to the roleplay because it allows students to immerse themselves in a realistic schooling experience as characters with their own lives, and routines. Lastly, without any teachers taking part in classroom dynamics, SchoolRP wouldn't even exist; teachers facilitate the rules and realities of the classroom whilst also guiding the overall way other characters interacted within the roleplay.

In addition to their teaching role, teachers support the wider community, which could be new players, returning players with alts, or those observing from a distance. Their support adds inclusivity and mentorship whilst allowing teachers to enforce a productive and engaging environment. Their leadership and experience are important to ensure immersion continues and progress is made through the server whilst also prompting students to make that effort in joining the roleplay and progressing their character. Overall teachers do not only have a teaching role, they are leaders, supporters, and inspirational figures which all makes them one of the most important aspects of the SchoolRP experience.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes

What's your character's full name?: Elijah Zindel-Jung
What is your character's nationality?: Korean, Spaniard
What is your preferred subject to teach?: History

Describe your character:
With a height of 6'5" and the naturally imposing age of 26, Elijah Zindel-Jung allows his presence to precede him without much more than a nod or a wave. He also possesses what can be best defined as a low-key sense of confidence that has an eerie talent for bringing attention to him that doesn't seem to be (obviously) asked for. The single most identifiable feature about Elijah, as mentioned before, is his heterochromia (one blue and one hazel eye). There is something uniquely identifiable about this genetic anomaly that adds just a slight aura of mystery that accompanies it. Typically well-kempt, Elijah's hair is a light blonde and fits around his angular features and provides an overall feeling of freshness. Elijah is youthful in quality, it seems, but he does possess a kind of mature-independence that can only be associated with someone tall, somewhat unique-looking, and friendly serious mannerisms. From formal, to casual, and everything in between - Elijah Zindel-Jung has an identity around it that makes you want to remember it.

What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Although Elijah Zindel-Jung is a great and entertaining part of the school environment, he brings a professionalism to his role as an educator. Elijah values creating a space where students are relaxed and can connect with the material. The use of humor and creativity are a feature of his practice that create meaningful connections to learning and material. Elijah can be very approachable and humorous but also keeps proper respect and professionalism with a boundary. In regards to Elijah amongst co-workers, he represents the individual who can create joy and positive energy in the work place. He is someone who brings this joy, enthusiasm and positive energy through his laughter, providing help and being a breath of fresh air in the work space. Elijah values connecting and collaborating with others, and creating a positive space for all; both students and staff.

What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Elijah Zindel-Jung's inspiration for teaching comes from both his background and family background. His aunt Naomi, a polished and dedicated university professor, inspired him when he realized the potential of a great teacher; he admired how she cared for her students, and the relationships she developed, wanting that spirit to be part of his practice, and make an environment where students felt challenged, supported, and listened to. He enjoys those little moments of significance - when a student has an "aha" moment, when there is a shared laugh, or even at the end of a long, hard day, when a quiet "thank you" is shared. For Elijah, he values teaching more as an opportunity than a job - he felt a teacher can have a positive impact on someone's life, in the same positive way that his aunt made an impact on his life

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
The student's expression of confusion caused Elijah to leap over the desk and snatch the bright red cape that hung from the wall behind his desk. He wanted to suddenly become the superhero for time travelers.

"Never fear, time traveler! Professor Zindel-Jung is here to help you navigate the treacherous waters of history!"

He stands up straight again, now leaning a little, arms around the student as if to share a secret.

"Let's work through this together piece by piece. Which time period do you find yourself all twisted up in like a Viking's beard? Thing is, tell me what it is, and together we can turn confusion into success!"

Then he returns to his side of the desk, and pulls out a silly, giant, child-size magnifying glass, and looms in on the student's note book.

"Maybe if we magnify this thing, then all that is history will either start to reveal itself, or it may at least look cooler!"

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Elijah Zindel-Jung spins around in his seat, unwittingly knocking a tower of history books to the floor, then suddenly smiles. "Whoa there, future history-maker! I know you've got the heart of a Roman gladiator in you, but let's keep the arena fights to after class, alright?"

He retrieves a plastic Roman helmet from beneath his desk and arranges the plastic headwear sideways on his head.

"Here is the pitch - if you can harness that energy into helping me crack the code of the French Revolution, I will make you my official co-general of class chaos... I mean class history. If the blabbering continues, the helmet goes in dress-up time out!"

He performs a silly little salute while winking.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
"Historys Hot Seat time Traveler"
Students assume the role of a historical figure, such as Harriet Tubman, Cleopatra, or George Washington. Once they have completed their studies about their lives and likenesses, they can now use the "hot seat" to answer fun questions as a historical figure. One student, or Mr. Zindel-Jung, will take the role of the host, and will discuss questions such as: "What was going through your mind during that big battle?", or "Would you have/did you have any regrets?". This learning opportunity allows students to engage with past historical figures creatively and personally as an expression of learning.

"Revolution or Reality Show?"
The class is divided into small groups based on people from a real revolution example such as peasants, kings, or soldiers. Each group has the goal of either gaining rights or keeping power. Then, Mr. Zindel-Jung reads aloud real examples from history, and the groups talk, debate, and make choices based on what they should do next. As a class, they vote on what happens next. This activity simulates a piece of history and students learn by enacting the story.
