Upon confirmation with my faction lead, I have gained permission to apply for EMS on that account, and I understand that I would be removed from the Teacher faction if accepted.
What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I have had various experiences with roleplay - some of which span before I set foot on this server. Starting with my childhood.
⊹ ࣪ ﹏﹏﹏⊹ ࣪ ˖
Childhood:
Throughout my life, I have always been role-playing in online spaces. To my knowledge, my first instance dates back to 2013. The first time I joined Roblox High School, I fell in love with everything about it. Role-playing as a student with other people and being able to interact with them were vital for me. From the first game I joined, it grew into something bigger. Joining different Roblox games ignited something within me. I moved to Amino, Wattpad, Tumblr, and different sites to write with others. Despite being younger, I was well educated in knowledge that allowed me to roleplay different characters well. Time went by, and I discovered Discord. I was still role-playing on Roblox, as well as on other sites, but it was here that my career really took off. I would roleplay with my friends in servers, and we would go back and forth for hours on end. I started creating characters on a daily basis within Google Docs, only to roleplay them out the very next day. My friend group at the time allowed me to further my writing, as we created stories that actually flowed. I will forever be grateful for the hours spent laughing at my story lines.
SRP:
Although I haven't been on this server for very long, I have been involved in many different factions and roleplay experiences. Each one allowed me to further my knowledge of different roles in life. My first-ever faction I belonged to was the Professor. I was motivated by my friends to apply, only for me to sit down and actually write an app. I got accepted, and within the time I was in said faction, I've done nothing but enjoy my time there. This was the faction that allowed me to kick-start many of my friendships within SRP. Being a Professor allowed me to teach others the knowledge I knew, which was something that made me insanely euphoric. During the middle of June, there was one faction that I had been eyeing for about a year - KPD. I took a whim and applied, even though applications hadn't been announced. With my mindset, I was willing to wait six months for the applications to be reviewed. To my surprise, apps were announced two weeks later. Through fear and constant editing of my application, I got into the faction. I wouldn't have called myself a greenie, but I was relatively new to factions. And with that, it is the faction I've been loyal to for a long time, and I don't plan on leaving any time soon. KPD has shown me the backings of what a city needs; Even if it is on a Minecraft Roleplay Server. My second faction, but it's been home. I've gotten many different roleplay experiences from this alone - Including prisonerRP, a different take on gangRP, and coworkerRP. My third faction, as listed, is the teacher faction. Once in love with the school faction, I wanted to make a return to it. Hosting classes was enjoyable for me, as well as interacting with each student in a unique way.
In addition to the 'Adult' factions, I have been involved in two different sports and a club. My first sport, track. Something about a detailRP RP-based sport called to me, and I took a chance. Although nervous to try out, I took a risk and got in. Detailing on the spot, and even sending my prewritten actions, had my heart beating fast. Getting into Track was one of the best things to happen to me on this server. It allowed me to experience a new roleplay I had never had before - JockRP. Even if it was for a short amount of time, joining HS-Track helped me flesh out what type of character I want to use for factions like that. My second sport, Volleyball. Although I haven't been on the team for long, I've enjoyed every second of it. Volleyball was a sport I had been wanting to be a part of for some time. And, with a friend, we practiced constantly, only to find that we both got in. As I improve at the sport, I am actively working to improve. Everyone on the team is fantastic, and I've made many friends from both experiences. For my first club, I took a chance and joined the photography club. Although I was originally scared, I wouldn't know how to fit in there, specifically with photo editing. However, I was quickly taught that photo editing doesn't have to be an advanced process; it could simply entail lowering the brightness. Being in a club has given me experiences that I wouldn't get anywhere else.
I've also had experiences with shops on the server. As an active worker at Pinkumo, I can say that it is fun to roleplay as someone in the security guard role. Whether it's removing animals from the store, telling people to stop yelling, or even calling 110 if there is an issue, I am always prepared for different situations. Pinkumo has given me the chance to role-play situations I had never experienced before.
An honorable mention would be gangRP. Although I haven't been in many, it's been a wild ride. My first gang was Manhato, which taught me the basics I needed to know about being in a gang on the server. My current gang, Mandate, has shown me so much more than what base gangRP is on the server. I can't speak much about what we do, but it's refreshing to be in a gang that's adult-based. It allows me to roleplay out different scenarios rather than being a delinquent on the server.
My final mention on SRP would be families. I've had numerous experiences with different families, and I've made my mark within them. As of the current day, I am in 'Heddo,' 'Otori,' 'von Moltke,' 'Lenue,' and so many more. I've also created my own families, two honorable mentions being both 'Vireaux' and 'Dubois.' Although smaller. I am not short on what family means to me on SRP.
What is your motivation for applying?
I do not have just one reason that stems my motivation. Each reason is a distinct factor that drives my motivation to write this app. Although new to this server, I have always been drawn to what EMS has to offer. I've had numerous conversations with friends and debates about when I should submit a hospital application. After asking around and with the announcement of applications opening, I decided to give it a shot with this application. But, I know for a fact that I could balance this faction on top of everything. Even with my job, and being able to play for only a limited time on some days, I still get plenty of playtime on workdays. On the days that people need hospital workers the most, I want to be there for the community.
The primary reason I am applying for this wave is for the role-play experiences. Over my time on the server, I've always been drawn to the medical aspect. Being in KPD, I've only gotten a small taste of what it would entail. But, being in KPD, there's only so much we can do. I want to be able to roleplay the realism of what being a doctor entails - Whether it's something as simple as treating a slash or dealing with death. I want to gain experience in medical knowledge. The primary aspect of EMS is maintaining realism and attention to detail. I love detailRP, which is one of the reasons I believe I could be a doctor on this server.
Being on the KPD side of the Emergency Faction, I'm only able to see half of it, yet I know how nice each member of both is. Something that has always drawn me to it is the fact that everyone is so nice. Each OOCly interaction has been nothing but kind and understanding, and I've developed friendships due to it. I know how kind this faction is, and I want to be a part of that kindness.
Which role are you applying for?
(Doctor or Psychiatrist)
I am applying to be a doctor!
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
(This is to gauge at your current understanding of the faction prior to acceptance)
Let me start with the pharmacy. To gain a prescription medicine, you need one from a psychiatrist. An individual needs to get evaluated by a psychologist to gain one. A prescription depends on the type of disorder you have, ranging from anxiety all the way to something more major. Psychiatrists are the individuals with whom you're able to get therapy, whether it's one session or recurring. There are items that can be obtained without a prescription. Some of which include a wooden cane, paracetamol, hearing aids, reading glasses, and many more. Each prescription costs a different amount, and hospital workers are required to pay a percentage of the cost.
There are three distinct branches within the Hospital Faction, each serving a different purpose. Paramedics, doctors, and psychiatrists. To start, Paramedics are the best of the best within the faction. They deal with the 110 calls that involve a doctor outside the hospital. They're able to drive ambulances to respond to calls. When able, paramedics are the personnel who can patrol alongside the KPD. They are trained in both psychiatric and doctoral care. Doctors. Doctors are the healthcare professionals within the hospital who treat a wide range of injuries. They utilize a variety of machines and tools to assist the public with various tasks they require. Doctors are the primary healthcare professionals that citizens turn to when they need a checkup. The day-to-day tasks of a doctor vary greatly depending on the number of people who come into the lobby. And finally, psychiatrists. Psychiatrists are the individuals who deal with therapy, evaluations, and the writing of prescriptions. They deal with the mental aspect of the hospital, with the occasional need to suture someone if the wound is viable.
Within the hospital, there are different ranks for each department or section. Each one functions differently. The highest position is held by the Director, followed closely by the Clinical Lead, and the lowest positions are held by trainees. Each rank within the hospital performs a different task - whether it be allowed to call patrols or even treat baseline wounds, each one is a necessity.
The Director
EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT | DOCTOR DEPARTMENT | PSYCHIATRIST DEPARTMENT |
|---|---|---|
Chief Paramedic | Clinical Lead | Clinical Lead |
Deputy Chief Paramedic | Attending Doctor | Clinical Supervisor |
Paramedic | Doctor Resident | Attending Psychiatrist |
Paramedic Trainee | Doctor Trainee | Psychiatrist Resident |
n/a | n/a | Psychiatrist Trainee |
Director | The individual who does everything in the hospital. Whether it be overseeing employees, having the stock refilled in the pharmacy, or making sure everything is alright within each department, the Director is always busy when it comes to being around. |
Clinical Lead | The most trusted in their specialty. They work closely and report to the director. They give the orders in situations that require their guidance. They manage their department, making sure everything runs smoothly. |
Clinical Supervisor | The individuals who oversee the training and performance of the lower-ranked individuals. They report to the Clinical Lead of their department. They provide guidance and ensure that each person receives sufficient training. |
Attending Doctor / Psychiatrist | The individuals who have worked their way up to a more permanent position. They know what they're doing almost most of the time. They have completed all their training and are responsible for treating patients accurately. |
Resident Doctor / Psychiatrist | The individuals who have passed their exams and proved their will to work in the hospital. They understand the baseline procedures and experiences. These individuals work under the supervision of their specialty. |
Trainee | The individuals who are newer to their field. They undergo training almost daily to eventually learn how to perform independently. They learn the information taught to them, with the goal of passing their exams after a certain period has passed. |
Within being a hospital worker, there are many pieces of equipment and machinery you have to know how to use. A light pen for concussions, which is used to check if your eyes dilate in the light. A CT scanner, which allows for detailed pictures of the body's internal structures, enabling any abnormalities to be detected. An X-ray machine is used to see any broken bones that might be within your skeleton. Medkits, which use basic gauze to stop a wound from bleeding. Hospitals utilize numerous other tools on a regular basis, but these are some of the most notable ones.
In addition to equipment, hospital workers use various codes. Code Blue, Code Red, Code Orange, Code Zero. Each one serves a different purpose in its meaning, and each one is just as important as the last.
Each worker has their own cubicle, and some higher-ups are assigned an office. There are also many different rooms that normal civilians don't get to experience. Two of which I can list now are the morgue and the padded cells. Each one does a different job, as well as the other hospital rooms unlisted. Each one serves a different purpose and gets used to its full extent.
The use of Mido and Halo. Both of which are used to calm a patient down, to different extents. Mido is a tool available to most higher-ups and paramedics within the emergency faction. It is used as a tool to knock the patient out, in case they are a continued threat. Halo is a tool designed for residents to use in helping to relax patients. Such examples would be when a patient becomes hostile and aggressive; a relaxant is used to help calm them down.
Each time a patient experiences an issue, the hospital staff member must complete an incident log. This includes their name, number, what happened to them, and if anyone was involved. A tool that allows for KPD to step in and take matters into their own hands. Speaking of KPD, we have officer evaluations! An officer will go through two different evaluations: Physical and Mental. They are assigned a psychiatrist as well as a doctor. These specialists are the individuals who make the call if an officer is fit for duty or not.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
I do understand that if I am online, I will be expected to attend my training.

In-Character (IC) Section
SECTION 1: PERSONAL DETAILS
Character’s Full Name:
The brunette male walked over to the desk, his hand outstretched toward the Directors. When introductions were made, he eagerly awaited responding. "My name?" A pause as he pulled his chair out, sitting down across from the interviewer. His hands clasped together, neatly folding onto the table. Underneath the chair, his ankle folded over the other, neatly formatted beyond the eye could see. "Lovelace, Topaz Lovelace." A confidence-ridden hum from his lingering words, his lips curling upward into a gentle grin.
Character’s Gender and Pronouns:
With the question, his brows furrowed within themself. A small nod after the words died out, only for his turn to erupt. "I am a transman." A pause, but it was the truth after everything. "However, I've been on testosterone for as long as I can remember, as well as having the procedures for it." Lovelace exhaled, his lips twitching upward. "My pronouns are preferably he/him, thank you for asking."
Character’s Age (if accepted):
Did he forget his age already? He did not; he was just nervous, despite being in interviews similar to the one today. "My age?" He sounded almost surprised to hear the question. He took a deep breath, an inhale followed by a quicker exhale. "I'm twenty-eight!" - "And my birthday is November 6, 1997."
Character’s Academic Background:
Topaz's head lulled to the side, trying to remember his university days. His lips perched together, twitching upward before he spoke. His fingers fidgeted between one another, a nervous tick he picked up years ago. "When I went to university, I attended for four years. I ended up studying for a Bachelor's degree in human biology, which was definitely a tougher choice, but I had a pretty high GPA!" An ignited pause, as he debated on what to say next. "After graduating from that, I found myself practically full-time in medical school." - "While I was studying my coursework, I had an opportunity to intern at a nearby hospital, which eventually led to a residency." A sigh escaped him as he remembered all the hard work he had to go through to maintain both his studies and a residency. "The good thing about that was my university worked well with the hospital, so they allowed me to dual-task both at the same time. I will admit, it was a lot, but now I have my doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine, or my DO."
Character’s Nationality:
A bleat in his words, as he stared off for a second at the question.
It wasn't that he didn't know what he was; it was the fact that he was trying to remember what his parents had told him when he was growing up.
"I'm mainly Japanese! But I also have deep-rooted French genetics." Topaz was an uneven mixture of both French and Japanese, resulting from a combination of genetics from both his parents and their ancestors.
Character’s Marital Status:
Lovelace debated for a second, but he had never been married in his life! He allowed for a warmer exhale to escape his lips, as his fingers refused to settle down. "I'm single, and I've never been married."
Character’s Religious Denomination:
A sigh, but he couldn't help it when it came to a subject like this. He finally brought his hands onto his lap, a freedom to fidget within themself without being seen. At least his eyes wouldn't leave the Director. "I grew up around a lot of religious people, but I wouldn't call myself one, not without proper reason." He wouldn't go in depth with that, as a few blinks followed. Religion wasn't his strong suit, clearly.
Character’s Spoken Languages:
"I speak fluent Japanese!" A giggle from Lovelace, one that was controlled in an instant. "I'd like to learn French, but that isn't my top priority at the moment."
Character Backstory (Optional):
A sigh, but this time, everything didn't feel alright. He leaned back in his chair, recalling his fondest memories of his childhood. At a closer glance, Topaz had a frown on his face, but he wasn't scared to share what he went through. "My mother always told me how small I was when she first held me. And that I came out a month too early. She always told me how perfect I was, despite my situation." A nervous chuckle, but Lovelace wasn't done speaking, no, it was only the beginning. "My childhood was baseline. My family ate meals together, as my parents worked two separate work schedules. I got to see my mother during the day, and I was able to see my father at night. It was. . bittersweet in a way, especially with what happened when I was eight." A deep exhale, as a pause filled between the two. A tough subject, but he didn't mind speaking about it.
"When I was eight, my father and my sister fell ill. We didn't know what was wrong with them." Lovelace brought a hand up to his face, itching his brow, confused. He still didn't understand what had gotten into his father and sister. "Death is cruel, and he took his sweet time when it came to my family." An awkward chuckle and a small hum of his voice. Maybe Topaz had made his peace with it. "They passed, almost at the same time. He died right after my sister." A harsh swallow, but that happened nearly twenty years ago. He brought his hand down, resting it back on the table. "My mother was heartbroken; we all were, yet she still provided for my brother and me as best she could. She found another job nearby. We had food, my brother and I, and we took turns learning how to make different items to make her life easier." A hand gesture that showed all the hardships he had gone through.
"I grew up wishing one thing, that I knew what took my family's life." The brunette fixed his collar, stiffening up. He was no longer relaxed, more in touch with himself. "It was also difficult to combat feeling like a boy and not understanding." A chuckle, but the hard part was over to speak about! "I buried myself in school work and research. I was interested in it, so I couldn't complain." Lovelace smiled, almost bashfully. "I behaved well during my primary school days; there were no complaints there." The backing of his hand retracted to his forehead, wiping off fake sweat that wasn't there. Dramatic, but it was to lighten the air.
"So, a young eighteen-year-old putting himself into medical school. It was a good thing for me, it's where I truly found myself." A chuckle, but a truth. His voice hummed softly, steadying. "So, with university, I honestly focused on my studies, and I graduated pretty high. And then I got into medical school, put into a residency simultaneously, and I'm here now!" A finished tangent, but he was done speaking for now.
SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical specialty? Why did they choose this focus?
Emergency Medicine
"My medical specialty?" He paused, bringing his hand to his chin and tapping it. It was a thought, but there was one specific thing he was best at in this field. "My specialty would be emergency medicine." A smile couldn't help but slither its way onto his face. "I've always done best with fast-paced environments." - "I've been efficient at my work, and I'm fast on my feet. When I was a child, I wanted to help people as soon as I saw them injured; I even kept a medkit on me at all times in case someone was hurt." A chuckle, because that memory of himself was very fond. "It was always expected of me to be faster than I could keep up, so instead of slowing down, I just learned how to combat the speed with my own pace."
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
"It's complicated to explain, but I have a little over four years working in a hospital. I've worked my way up to Senior Resident in my last placement."
Within the first year of being accepted into a medical program, Topaz, along with many of his peers, was offered various opportunities to work as interns under some of the best doctors the county had to offer. While others hesitated, Lovelace decided to put himself out there and take the experience. Duel internship and classes were difficult, but the brunette managed with little free time to himself. He didn't complain, knowing he'd eventually be successful with his future. When the hospital checked in with Topaz, they observed his success in both his job and his classes, and they decided to offer him a residency. It was an offer intended for post-graduate students, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Topaz needed to consider. He spoke with the Director and his professors, and he was accommodated. Although different, the young male student performed exceptionally well. He adapted to situations instantly and stepped into action. He recognized when things were out of the norm and spoke up. Well adjusted to hospital work, he made his way up his residency, all while his grades refused to drop below a ninety-five.
SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Shorter, with quiet feet whenever he danced around, this is what Topaz Lovelace preferred. The most noticeable feature would be the slight tremble of his hands, adorned with rings. He appears kind-hearted, with a gaze that brings nothing but acceptance. If he weren't wearing a formal fit, you could easily mistake him for someone unprofessional, quite the opposite of his demeanor. He stands straighter, like his very presence holds a meaning. A smile is always seen between Lovelace's lips, as he believes his frowning could cause a rainstorm. His words are soft-spoken, and it is a rare occurrence for his voice to rise. Upon closer examination, any individual can notice a preference for his left hand over his right.
His eyes. Piercing, stunning, green, as if one good look within them would reveal a glimpse into his past. Although his hues carry alongside both the death and emotions he carries, they are not without a sparkle - a flame refusing to dull out. The eyes are a window to the soul, and Topaz refuses to close the blinds. A few blinks, and all the troubles of the world would be gone within an instant. Soft-sat and calm, his eyes are the main feature that allows him to be himself.
His hair. The main color would be brunette, cascading down his torso. Highlights, in larger chunks, appear blondish. The dye feels fresh, touched up whenever he's seen. Although his hair sleeked down rather symmetrically, there was one part of it that didn't fit in. - The raccoon pattern. Within the brown coloration, blonder patterns were painted that alternated with each other. It was the one part of his hair that he truly took care of. When in business, his hair was often seen away from his face, tied up in a ponytail.
How does your character act around the hospital?
"With the sanctuary of my colleagues, I don't see why we can't be friendly and ourselves." A pause, but he smiled at the interviewer. "In the public eye, I would be more professional, but caring over anything else."
Within the confines of secrecy, Lovewell is nothing but caring and calm. He doesn't hesitate to hide who he truly is. He talks a lot, a force of habit for himself. If you get him talking, it's hard to get him to quiet down. Topaz is the individual who cracks a joke or buys you a gift because he remembered your birthday. He would go off-duty for his coworkers if they wanted to plan an outing. He is kind, and that is the very trait that stands out the most.
With patients, he becomes a bit quieter. He focuses on what's wrong with them while trying his best to comfort them. If a patient asked, Topaz would offer his hand to hold while he works. Although proficient in the use of both hands, he could perform just as well with one if a patient required it. He is extremely mindful of what will and will not affect someone, and he takes that to heart when performing his job. He treats each patient the same, full of care and love, even when he'd been shown nothing but the opposite.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
"If I had a choice, I would work with someone else, always."
With his own experiences, Lovelace prefers to work with his colleagues. He's wrapped many experiences under his belt; some involving death, while others involve life. He knows how to adapt his skills to where he's needed, even if that means working alone. He prefers working with a team, as he doesn't know what may happen, but that doesn't mean that he can't work independently. Naturally, he knows how to collaborate and appreciates shared ideas, which are enhanced by dialogue. On the extraverted side, people tend to sharpen him. He's an attentive listener and can adapt instantly. He acts without hesitation, as the procedure for a patient comes to him almost instantly. He's versatile, which means if it came down to anything, he could do it alone. When he's forced to be in solitude, his perspective changes. He becomes focused and self-sufficient. And he becomes the anchor a patient needs when everything becomes overwhelming.
