I’ve been playing SRP since September 2021, having 3 years of time in role-playing. At the moment, I don’t have a specific role so I usually just log online and roam around, interacting with new people, discovering and learning new things, and it usually would be 1-5 hours depending on the plans I have for the day. I was a part of the school council for a year, gaining valuable role-playing experiences and leadership skills. Now I am still deeply interested in applying and trying out other varieties of roles to expand my experiences.

A school librarian plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the library. They also ensure that the students have a quiet, comfortable environment to study. They provide a huge variety of resources supporting students and staff.

In as much detail as possible, describe the employee role you are applying for:
A school librarian plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the library. They also ensure that the students have a quiet, comfortable environment to study. They provide a huge variety of resources supporting students and staff.
- Managing Library Resources: The librarian is responsible for organizing, cataloging, and maintaining the collection of books, magazines, comics and more, ensuring that the students and staff can have access to different valuable resources. This also includes making sure the resources are all up to date, checking the due dates for borrowed books and reminding the borrowers to return on time. They may also introduce new books and collections, to expand the accessibilities for people with more information.
- Assisting Students & Staff: One of the librarian’s key roles is to support students on their studies. Such as helping them locate the books they need, giving suggestions and teaching them how to research effectively, guiding them evaluating resources effectively, and handing out library cards for the ones who need to borrow a book for their further studies. Additionally, librarians assist teachers and staff by providing educational materials for their lesson planning. Also sometimes joining school events and projects.
- Maintaining Library Organization & Environment: It is important that the library remains quiet, so people can be productive, study, complete assignments, enjoy reading and do revisions for their exams. The librarian enforces those rules, they sometimes walk around to check everyone’s behavior making sure none of the rules have been broken.
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?:
The experiences in SRP I’ve had over those 3 years has been invaluable. I’ve been playing on the server for around 3 years now, and from the very beginning, I ensured that I understood the basic rules, reading through the guidelines detailedly before playing, because I do not like getting into troubles or getting a warning. I managed to play smoothly the first time I joined.
After a few months of playing, I became interested in the school council and decided to apply instantly. Sadly it got rejected due to the lack of experience and was written too short. Instead of giving up, I took time to improve myself and learn more about the council through one of my good friends I made who was in the council team at that time. They guided me more on role-playing and gave helpful advice. And with their support and cheer, I reapplied. And this time, I was accepted.
I started as a member of the HS council, and moved up to college council. That year in council I had an incredible experience. I enjoyed collaborating with the team, learning more about RP with them. I made a few more friends during that time but as the time goes, most of them left for OOC reasons. I continued as council with my council friend for a bit longer and both of us decided to step down by summer 2023 because we wanted to focus on real life.
Now I have more free time and decided to start trying out more different roles to expand my experience in role-playing!
Why do you want to join the School Employee faction?:
I have been interested in applying for librarian for quite a time until now, but I never had the opportunity due to the difficulties I had when I needed to leave my hometown and move into a totally new country. Adjusting to a completely different environment and with many responsibilities, making it difficult to make some time to log on SRP. However, my passion for SRP never changed. I’ve always wanted to apply and enhance my overall experience.
Beyond SRP, I personally always had a deep appreciation for libraries. At school, I love spending time in the library because of its peaceful and calming atmosphere. This environment helps me concentrate, making my life easier to dive into the books. The scent of the books somehow comforts me as I flip them through. I also enjoyed roaming in different sections of books, looking for something new for me to learn and expanding my knowledge, especially astronomy related…
This passion for libraries and books is what drives me to apply for the Librarian role. I believe it would be an exciting opportunity to contribute to the experiences in role-play and also embracing what I enjoy in my life.

During a work-shift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how does your character react?:
She was stunned for a moment, and didn't react immediately as she reflected on whether she had made the student uncomfortable unknowingly. “Did I make you uncomfortable at any point?” she asked calmly. If the student continued cursing and being disrespectful to Meixue, she would straighten up and take back her concern. In a soft voice, she said, “If you are trying to get my attention by doing this, you’ve made the wrong choice. And I suggest you choose your words wisely, because respect goes both ways.”
She stared at the student, her expression remaining calm and composed. “If you are done, you may leave. If not, I guess I’ll have to handle this in another way.” Throughout the entire situation, she did not raise her voice or let the words get to her, she stood her ground with confidence and calm attitude.
You notice two students are physically fighting in the hallway, – multiple punches have been thrown – how does your character react?:
Meixue would assimilate the situation quickly. Without hesitation, she strides towards the two students, in a firm yet controlled voice she says, “Enough.” She pauses, giving them a chance to react.
She doesn’t shout, but her tone carries an undeniable authority. If the students didn’t stop immediately, she would step between them, her presence alone can demand their attention. “Fighting in the hallway? I would suggest using this energy and doing something productive and no trouble for both of you.” She kept her posture straight, her gaze sharp, making it clear that this behavior is unnecessary. If she needs, she would call for assistance if the students wouldn’t stop, but she prefers to handle things calmly first. “Additionally, violence isn’t the way to solve any of your problems.”
“Now, separate. Both of you will need to explain yourselves properly, or I’d have to escalate this further if needed.” Her voice remains gentle and calm, diffusing the tension in the atmosphere. If either of them was hurt, she acknowledges it, ensuring they get the help they need. She would talk to them one by one privately, understanding what led to the fight.
Another school employee is clearly acting inappropriately, doing something very dangerous on the job, how does your character react?:
Meixue’s expression is unreadable, but her mind is already processing the best course of action as fast as she can. Stepping forward, she speaks in a calm yet soft tone, “You do know what you are doing is wrong and against the rules, don’t you?”
She observes their reaction closely, ****yzing their body language and expression for small details that may show a piece of their mind. If it is a simple ,ostake, she would give a solution, ensuring the situation is corrected without causing other issues. However, if they ignored her warnings and continued behaving irresponsibly, her tone turns colder. “I can’t ignore this. If you do not stop and take your hands back now, I’ll have to report this to our higher ups.”
She doesn’t enjoy confrontation, but she refuses to stay silent when something is clearly against the rules.
When in the employee break room, how does your character act?
In the break room, she would find a quiet spot, perhaps near a window or in a comfy corner, sipping coffee or tea while flipping through a book, might as well zone out. Occasionally, she would check her daily plan to ensure she didn’t miss anything scheduled as ‘Important’. To others, she may appear indifferent or unapproachable, but in reality, she simply enjoys moments of peace and self improvement time.
If a friend or colleague approaches her and starts a conversation, she would lean forward, listen carefully and respond politely in a soft voice. However, with those she’s comfortable with, glimpses of her funny, and more playful personality begin to show.
Despite her reserved nature, if she notices someone looking upset or overwhelmed, she wouldn’t say anything, but she will quietly place a cup of tea, water or a small piece of sweet near them. Her silent way of telling them to take a breath, drink some water, everything will be okay and don’t stress out — before returning to her own space.

/me Carefully adjusts the neatly stacked books on the shelf, ensuring each one is aligned perfectly。 As she runs her fingers down along the spines, briefly pauses, admiring the well worn covers of older editions before dusting them off with a gentle swipe, might as well take them out and flip them through, reading a few pages. With a quiet sigh, she steps back, scanning the rows of books with a peaceful gaze.
/me Sat behind the counter, flipping through and ****yzing a catalog of newly arrived books, while tapping her pen against the desk quietly. Would notice a student walking around looking confused, she kept gazing at the student, hoping that they can find what they need or can just come and ask her for help.

As she passed by a group whispering a little too loud, she would walk towards them and place a finger against her lips, signaling for them to lower their voices. Backstory
In 1999, Meixue Ling was born on October 9th in GuangDong, China. Meixue is the youngest daughter of the Ling family and the younger sister of Meiqi Ling. Despite being the younger one, she is more mature and often takes care of her elder sister. The two sisters support each other to overcome difficulties, though they sometimes quarrel over small matters. In the confrontation between good and evil, Meiqi showed her courage and determination, eventually defeating the dark forces together with the help of her friends.
Afterward, Meixue continued to go on adventures with her companions, during which she learned how to dance, how to play the violin as she grew up.
Meixue completed her studies in China through Grade 9, then moved to Karakura for Grade 10 with her sister Meiqi. Despite their close bond, Meiqi and Meixue seem the same as before, Meiqi is lively and Meixue is quiet, but beneath the surface, there is an undercurrent. She realized that she was always getting full marks in her literature classes, and she always did her revisions in the library. Meiqi suddenly joined the Council. Although Meixue didn't fully understand her sister’s motivations, she supported her sister, but she vaguely felt that her sister seemed to have changed. Out of concern for Meiqi, Meixue also joined the Council with Meiqi. As the years passed, she began to notice some books that she was desperately wanting to read in the library, and she determined that she’s gonna earn a degree for literature, which is her favourite subject and her strongest area until Grade 12. As a literary girl, Meixue prefers to focus on her studies instead of thinking about some grand social issues like her sister. She did not understand her sister's inner thoughts at first, but after several years of observation, she slowly discovered the changes in her sister and noticed some of Meiqi’s emotional struggles. For her college life, she spent most of her time studying literature and trying to learn other languages at the same time. After several years in college, Meixue found that something was wrong with her sister. Meixue tried to understand her sister, but she found that she couldn't understand at all. Meixue's sister studied psychology and hid her inner thoughts very well. If Meixue wanted to walk into her sister's heart, she had to follow her sister and study the same subject. So she also took up psychology. Through her studies, Meixue slowly uncovered the truth about why her sister was depressed. It turned out that Meiqi was disappointed and deeply affected by the injustice of society and the corruption of the city. Meiqi's efforts to change this society were ruthlessly thwarted time and time again. Her friends were murdered and her reforms faded into oblivion. Perhaps, for a young woman, such a blow was too great.
“Sister, what’s wrong with you?”
Meixue’s voice was soft, filled with her years of concern.
Meiqi paused, visibly stunned for a moment.
“Right… What's wrong with me?”
They looked at each other, and at that moment, it felt as if the entire world had faded away. They finally understood that, no matter what, they still had each other to protect. Resolving not to let anything, or anyone tear them apart, both of them made this decision silently.
Meixue succeeded in cheering up and supporting her sister Meiqi, both of them found their way and strength to move forward. Determined to make one last attempt at changing the world, she becomes a judge. Meanwhile Meixue chose to become a school staff member, hoping to inspire and guide students, believing that even the smallest changes could make a difference.
Together, their story continues, and only time will tell what impacts their choices will bring.
Motivation for Joining KHS (Character perspective):
I eventually realized that Meiqi’s deepest desire was to challenge the injustice of this society and fight against the corruption in Karakura. I fully support her and was inspired by her determination, so I decided to silently follow in her footsteps. However, I wanted to keep this support and my true feelings hidden. I told her that I wanted to join KHS because I'm just enjoying the library itself and I loved reading books. I don’t really want her to know that I’m doing this for her. Anyways… While Meiqi pursued her path becoming a judge, determined to bring justice through the legal system, I’ve decided to take a different path from her, I chose to become a librarian at KHS. I believe that meaningful changes start with the younger generation, the students. Through fostering a love for learning and providing valuable access to knowledge, I’m hoping to inspire students to think critically and make informed choices. Because in my perspective, guiding the younger generation towards understanding and empathy can be a powerful step in preventing future injustice.
But deep inside my heart, just like my sister, I knew the road ahead would not be easy. But even if our efforts were met with resistance or consequences, I am sure both of us could make it through, even if it’s a small change that could make a difference.
Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?:
I believe I should be accepted because I am deeply committed to fostering and inspiring a love for learning and creating a welcoming environment for the people at school. My passion for literature and knowledge has been a part of me in my life, and I understand the importance of a well-maintained, productive and supportive library space. After spending countless hours in the library in my school life, I came to appreciate that it has been supporting me through my studies. My experiences shaped me into someone who values patience, empathy and effective communication, which I am sure are essential qualities for this role.
My decision to become a librarian is also connected to my past and personal journey. After understanding what my sister struggled through, against injustice and her determination to make a difference, I was inspired. So I decided to do the same thing as her but in my own way. While she chose to become a judge, I realized that changes can also start through education and school. Becoming a librarian I can give them valuable access to books that guide them, giving them the correct perspective and way of thinking. By providing them with access to knowledge, encouraging their curiosity, and thinking, I really hope to help shape a more understanding and caring attitude.
Furthermore, my time in the council has also strengthened my organizational skills and taught me how to handle my responsibilities effectively. Understanding the importance of maintaining the rules, assisting students with their studies, and ensuring the library remains a quiet, welcoming study space.
