IGN (In-Game Name):
My usernames are: mlayi & meihye!
What is your discord username?
@ mlayi
(I also have a working microphone, and I can talk whenever necessary.)
Describe your activity on the server:
My activity on this server is relatively active, if I had to give it a rating of 1-10, it would probably be an 8/10. I am online pretty much everyday, except (sometimes) on a wednesday as that is when I have extra classes oocly. But, generally, I do tend to get online almost everyday after school or in the weekends. I am also active due to my previous and current roles that demand me to be active as much as possible: which is something I never have or had an issue with before! Thursday as those are longer school-days for me, but I do tend to play when I am home most of the time. I would also like to note that I bought my alt-account somewhat recently, and it doesn't have as much play-time as my main-account, but I do spend my time on both of my accounts equally. I am pretty active on the server-aspect of things, though I would consider myself a little bit less active on the forums-side, but that has improved since one of my characters became a Journalist and thus, I have to be active on the forums, too!
What is your timezone?:
UTC+2! - And I currently live in Spain!
(My timezone can change due to travelling, but generally this is where I am the most!)

@ mlayi | [Grade-11][Journalist] Leilani Li + [Fox] Melran Kingdom & [Duck] Valentino
What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I am lucky to have experienced quite a few different sides of roleplay on this server, I have been on a sports-team, a member of the student council, a regular student, and now a Journalist on one of my characters. This definitely allowed me to explore a lot of experiences when it came to the school-side of things, but I have always had an interest in a faction. And, after doing my research, I decided to write an application for this role! I also have some experience with roleplaying as a duck, and a fox! I also have a bit of experience with events thanks to being on the council previously, and therefore participating in some of the awesome events that were hosted!
What is your motivation for applying?
Primarily, I have explored many sides but never one where I have an older character in a faction like this, which is why I have decided that I wanted to try something new. Thus, my main motivation is the need to explore something new and prove myself in a new setting that I have always found quite interesting. Each of the positions in this faction require you to hold up standards, since you are trained for specific things and are expected to uphold them to the best of your ability!
Over all, being a member of this faction would be a great way to gain some more ‘intense’ roleplaying experiences, as something as big as this faction: there is rarely a situation where you can be silly, and everything is more serious in general. It will also give me more chances to roleplay with a variety of different people I don't already roleplay with, since being a member of this faction means that you are guaranteed to interact with others - especially since many people in Karakura will need help!
Which role are you applying for?
[Doctor]
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
⁺✦ Hospital Divisions ⸝⸝⸝
୨୧ Doctor - Doctors are medical physicians who treat various patients, and help with most physical conditions. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals is essential when being a doctor, and whilst they conduct research, offer preventative measures, and also diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses. Their responsibilities also include: performing surgeries, and educating patients and the public on their medical issues. Some of their daily tasks include desk work, informing the public, responding to calls, performing regular check-ups, tending to the pharmacy - and writing reports/documentation on patients.
♡ Psychiatrist - Psychiatrists are responsible for conducting therapy sessions and ensuring that their patients feel safe when booking an appointment. They not only listen to patients and treat mental health conditions, but they are also responsible for writing prescriptions and confidentiality.
୨୧ Paramedic - Paramedics are highly qualified health professionals who primarily who specialize in emergency treatment. They evaluate people with illnesses or injuries, provide emergency medical care, and ensure that they safely transport them to Karakura Hospital.
⁺✦ Hospital Hierarchy & Other Divisions ⸝⸝⸝
୨୧ Director - The Hospital Director is the primary overseer of the hospital and its policies along with their procedures. They are the main person when it comes to management and essentially have the most authority in the faction.
♡ Clinical Manager - The Clinical Manager, acting as the chief assistant to the Hospital Director, essentially serves as a vice-director. In the absence of the Director, the Clinical Manager takes on leadership responsibilities, ensuring that the hospital's operations run smoothly and efficiently.
୨୧ Clinical Lead - The Clinical Lead is the leadership position within their set departments, which primarily oversees the combination of clinical duties amongst other responsibilities. They are mostly responsible for leading and guiding their respective departments to ensure that they are giving the best care they possibly could to their patients.
♡ Attending - Attending is the role you will receive when you have completed all of your training. However, not all doctors/psychiatrists become attendings, as some take different career paths or do not complete their training. Most of the time, they also oversee Residents to ensure that they are doing everything in the correct way. Attendings can provide direct care for patients without supervision as they are qualified to do so.
୨୧ Resident - Residents are mainly supervised by attending doctors or psychiatrists on the roster. Resident is typically the title that you receive after completing the training and finishing the final ‘exam’ successfully. They can provide direct care to patients with supervision and guidance of an attending - experienced residents will typically move up to senior-resident.
♡ Trainee - The trainee is the role everyone will receive in their very first stages of EMS-training and is the first role assigned upon acceptance into this faction. They primarily assist with patient care under the close supervision of their higher-ups, basically learning and studying up until their final ‘exam’ which will determine their future in the faction.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes, I do. It is only fair that I am expected to attend if I am already online.

EARLY LIFE
One stormy night in Okinawa, Japan - a girl with the Tahitian name Vaitiaré, meaning 'Water Flower', was born to a young couple in their late twenties. Her father a stubborn Hawaiian man, and her mother a travel-adoring Haitian woman: the young Vaitiaré Vacazamora grew up in a neat household with high expectations, and a wide variety of cultures. Vaitiaré’s parents loved to travel, but they stopped and settled down once the girl was born, making Okinawa her home since birth. Luckily for her, she did not struggle to live up to their expectations, she was focused on her future and her classes as soon as she could even attend school. Whilst she does not remember much of her very young years, she does remember that both of her parents pushed her to be better every time, and she never wanted to fail to ensure that they were proud of her. Growing up in Japan despite not being Japanese herself, the girl quickly adapted to the language as she simply did not know any better: it just came easy to her whilst her parents struggled a little.
Once the young girl could finally attend school, she had already developed a talent for first aid. Her mother was a nurse and due to her busy schedule, Vaitiaré was often told to sit in the waiting room or play around the hospital somewhere until her shift was over. Because of this, the girl got her hands on any books or flyers available there: most of which were psychiatric or related to becoming a doctor - both of which intrigued the child. As soon as she spent one day there, she began to bother her mother everyday, asking for her to teach her what some of the ‘fancy words’ meant in the flyers and books, and that is how her love for health-care began. Whilst entering her teenage years, the interest in the medical field was more of a hobby. It was something she would research and read about whenever she was home after school, not something she intended to pursue as actual work yet. This is something that happened on her sixteenth birthday, where one of the friends attending suddenly had an allergic reaction. Whilst it did not take a genius to know that he needed an epipen, Vaitiaré was the first and fastest to react, quickly saving her friend from a severe allergic reaction and helping her mother to get him to the hospital for further medical assistance.
This was one small thing that made her hobby turn into a goal, working even harder to increase her already-impressive grades at school. She studied harder, more, and better then most of the other teenagers in her class. Sadly, because of her perfectionistic nature in this, a lot of her friends stopped hanging out with her except for a few very good friends. But, this did not stop her, and as she reached closer and closer to graduation: she was feeling confident in her abilities and had already set her mind to Okinawa University - the school where she would later meet her future husband: Hanzō Li - who was studying the same exact thing there. At first, Vaitiaré despised the young lad due to how competitive he could get when it came to assignments and studies, something she herself did a lot but never appreciated in other people. It was like looking in a mirror all the time, but eventually the two hit it off and became friends: which later grew into something else, a relationship. It was definitely a slow burn, especially since Vaitiaré never failed to prioritise her studies and future job prospects: something that Hanzō fully respected and never argued with, as he himself was extremely focused on his studies.

ADULTHOOD
After successfully receiving a PHD with a diploma in Medical Science, and a masters in Medicine: the girl soon graduated from Okinawa University alongside her boyfriend, Hanzō. Due to their blooming relationship, the two decided to move into an apartment together to split rent costs and search for job prospects near them. And after searching and jumping from small jobs to another to make money for rent, Vaitiaré finally found herself a hospital to work at whilst Hanzō chose to continue his studies for another year, making Vaitiaré the first of the two to land a job. She worked hard and eventually got to work with her mother, who despite not being a doctor like her daughter was, still worked as a nurse there to make money. Once she climbed the rankings over the course of six years and became a resident, as well as a mother and wife to Hanzō, the girl maintained the same job for quite some time before growing tired of it. Not the job, but mostly the town she was in and the life she led, she wanted something new. A new place for her to work at and a new place for her to live after spending her entire life in Okinawa.
After telling her husband that she wanted to move somewhere else, he agreed and offered for her to stay in Korea - in one of the estates his family owned. But, she wanted to remain in Japan, just not in the same town. She wanted a breath of fresh air for her future. However, as a compromise, the two of them visited Korea often, with Vaitiaré balancing it with work as much as she could to maintain stability. But this did not last long, Vaitiaré gave it some thought and after reading a few troublesome but intriguing articles about a town called Karakura, the young woman convinced her boyfriend to come with her since there were a lot of job prospects for the both of them there. Hanzō bought them both tickets and they soon travelled all the way to Karakura, Japan - where Vaitiaré, her husband, and the rest of their family: made a home. Vaitiaré being Vaitiaré, did not waste any time to apply for a new job as a doctor at Karakura Hospital, thus handing in her job-application right now.

SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
(Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Pathology.)
Vaitiaré certainly struggled when it came to choosing a specialty. She wanted to be able to do everything - how could she choose just one when there were so many options? She bounced back and forth between primarily Emergency Medicine, Neurology, and Pathology. Vaitiaré could rule out Neurology fairly easily, she simply did not feel as much passion for it as she did the other two. She likely took a lot of time to choose her specialty, especially when compared to others in the medical field. After a lot of thinking and most of all research, she finally settled on Emergency Medicine, with Pathology mostly remaining a close second interest.
Vaitiaré chose this focus after seeing the severe amount of crime and injuries in Karakura, wanting to help everyone, and even witnessing someone die due to lack of medical attention in the past. She aimed to change this whole ordeal, which is where her love for this particular specialty was born. This made her want to be able to adapt and respond quickly, to be someone who could help anyone and do their best in every situation, all to ensure the safety of the citizens in Karakura, Japan. Emergency Medicine is simply her forte, and as an expert in Pathology and Neurology as a substance, her choice of focus made her knowledge broad in various fields. Very well-organized and precise, this was her decision.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Yes, she worked at a hospital prior to moving to Karakura, Japan. She also grew up with her mother, who was a hard-working nurse and ignited the passion for her to want to work as a medical professional.

SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
Physically, the thirty-six year old woman appeared a few years younger than her actual age. Luxurious tresses of dark auburn-brunette waves cascaded down her back, framing her face with a delicate precision. All whilst two dark brown eyes shone as if they were gemstones: rubies, a red-like tone hidden far within their depths. Beauty was certainly one manner of description for this woman of Haitian-Hawaiian descent.
Mentally, Vaitiaré is the equivalent of ink setting on the page, precise and permanent. She can be compared to a spider sitting on the wall, waiting for the time that she is noticed or needed. Organized and sometimes robotically professional, the young woman can often be deemed a ‘loner’ - when in reality, she is just unsure how to approach someone when it is not anything related to work. However, whilst she is well-mannered and very polite - she also does not hesitate to call someone out when they are being disrespectful: and she is also relatively confident in the things she does, but never afraid to ask for help or help others when necessary.
How does your character act around the hospital?
⁺✦ On-Duty ⸝⸝⸝
Whilst on duty, Vaitiaré is professional, and very goal-oriented - she does not let anything, or anyone, throw her off her plan. The first impression most people have of her is that she is a little distant, but very well-mannered and polite. She is extremely educated on the mannerisms in Japan, but does take some time to warm up to people and to look less ‘robotic’ in terms of mannerisms. Vaitiaré is primarily very focused and serious in any situation, even when any other person would be joking around - she would still be serious and treat it as an obstacle: especially when on duty at the hospital. This can be a very good trait for someone working in the medical field, and the woman does warm up eventually, slowly becoming more loose in specific situations. However, these traits could also throw people off when they first meet her: thus preventing what could have been a possible friendship or just a simple conversation with a coworker. Despite this, Vaitiaré does attempt to make an effort and strike up a conversation with people to the best of her ability. Admirable, no?
⁺✦ Off-Duty ⸝⸝⸝
When off duty, Vaitiaré is the very essence of a ghost haunting a town, or a spider lurking on the walls. If she is not finishing work, speaking to friends, or doing something with her family - the lady will often be found at the Shinsei Seinaru Monastery. Despite not being religious in any sense, Vaitiaré cares a great deal about showing people respect and remaining polite to them. Whilst she may seem unapproachable and come off as distant at first, the woman is actually a relatively kind-hearted person behind that ‘rough’ exterior. Underneath the glamorous clothes and the distant feel around her, she is just a helpful lady with a thirst for knowledge and a love for History.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Both - she is kind of a wildcard in terms of this, Vaitiaré will do what she does best in any setting. It does not matter if she has to work together with a hundred people, or do something all on her own: she will do her best to ensure that it all gets done in the correct way. However, if it came to a preference: she would probably want to work alone, but she honestly does not care too much for it if she did work together in a more team-like setting once in a while. After all, doctors do need to work together from time to time. The primary reason she would prefer this is because of her robotic-nature, she simply would not really care if there are or aren't people working with her: she will make it work. She is generally speaking, an ideal blend of independent and team-work when it comes to her work ethic.
