I was recently introduced to SRP. I’ve been playing it a lot in all honesty, and I’ve gotten the hang of things very quickly. I tend to play anywhere from 2 to 6+ hours a day, depending on my personal schedule. I am home a lot of the time so I tend to be online often, but I also tend to wake up later in the afternoon.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:


I grew up participating in roleplay in various different ways. I would roleplay with almost anything I could. I dropped it for a while, until I was introduced to SRP like I mentioned. I have since spent a large chunk of time roleplaying on the server!


What is your motivation for applying?


I actually have genuine interest in the Psychiatrist career OOC! That would be a big portion of my motivation for applying. Aside from that, I think I would find it not only very engaging, but helpful, as I’m confident it would help me better my ability to portray my character and type out actions.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
(This is to gauge at your current understanding of the faction prior to acceptance)

Director


The director is the highest position within the EMS faction, their responsibility is to fully oversee the whole faction and making sure that they are managing everything to their fullest potential. They are in charge of the events, goals for the team, and that everything is met to the fullest extent that they can be met to. They make sure that the clinical leads are following every rule and goal set to their department that they are in control of.


Clinical Lead


The clinical lead is the second highest position within the EMS faction, not including the paramedics system. They are in charge of keeping track of their department, making sure quotas are met. They look over any staff in their department and if it’s necessary even staff under a different department. They make sure everything is to a perfect standard, they do lots of the training and helping staff under their department move on. There is at least 1 in each department but depending on which department there could be up to 3 in said department.


Paramedic


Paramedics are the part of the faction that is mostly seen outside of the hospital, as they are more focused on traveling out to reach their calls. When responding to calls and handling the issue at hand they are very limited to what they can do as they’re only allowed to bring so much with them, they cannot commit to surgeries while outside of the hospital as they do not have the equipment nor the resources.


Doctor


Doctors make up one of the biggest parts of the hospital system because they’re involved in so many different stages of patient care. They’re often the first ones to see a patient, handling check-ups, exams, tests, and even major procedures like surgeries. They also diagnose illnesses and decide what treatments are needed. On top of that, doctors are responsible for documenting important events such as births, deaths, and serious medical conditions. Overall, they help guide the whole process of care and keep the hospital running smoothly.


Psychiatrist


Psychiatrists play a major role in the mental-health side of patient care. They’re the ones who assess a patient’s emotional and psychological wellbeing and determine whether there are any underlying mental health conditions that need treatment. Because of this, they have to be extremely knowledgeable about the medications used for different disorders, what they do, how they work, and how they might interact with other treatments. Their job is a bit different from what people usually imagine when they hear the word “the******.” Their focus is more on understanding a patient’s overall mental state, creating a treatment plan, and prescribing the right medications when necessary

Character Backstory (Optional):


Kaelia Rosser was born in York, where she spent most of her childhood. She was an only child, and she lived with her mother, Nora, and her father, Owen. She lived a mostly ordinary and happy life, until around the age of 7, when her life was completely turned upside down due to a tragic house fire, taking the lives of both of her parents. She was then sent into foster care, where she was placed with a couple who already had multiple children prior to fostering her.

Life at her new home was very hard for her, as her foster father was abusive, and she had a very hard time getting along with her foster siblings, who were quite mean to her and picked on her most of the time. Even though she had a very troubled relationship with the majority of her new family, she had an amazing connection with her foster mother, Lydia. Lydia was kind, loving, and warm to Kaelia. Lydia was the main thing that kept Kaelia strong through the darkest parts of her life, motivating her to push and pursue her dreams despite her unfortunate circumstances.

From that point forward, Kaelia was very academically focused and dedicated everything she had to school. She would make sure she would pay attention in class, take notes, and get perfect grades. She graduated from high school at the age of 16 with honors, and aimed to move away from home as soon as she turned 18. After being accepted into college where she majored in psychology, she spent the first couple of years living at home, then moved into the dorms 2 weeks after her 18th birthday. She spent the rest of her years at college studying and working very hard, until she earned her Ph.D. She spent some time after college working as a school counselor, when she realized she was unhappy with that position, and left everything to move to Japan, in hopes of pursuing a Psychiatric career there. She had a very hard time leaving her foster mother, but Lydia made sure Kaelia didn't second guess her choice a single time, and reassured her that it was the right thing to do, and the best option for her. Kaelia still speaks to her mother now and again, writing notes and sending them through the mail. The last she heard, Lydia left Kaelia's foster father and moved to America, where she was much happier.

Since then, Kaelia has spent most of her time sewing/tailoring to make ends meet, hoping to one day be able to achieve her dreams.



SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY


What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?

Kaelia’s medical speciality is child and adolescent psychiatry. She chose this focus because she finds it exceptionally easy to connect to and empathize with people of a younger age, which is most likely due to the traumatic events of her childhood. From a very young age, her goal was to take the pain and hardships she experienced and channel all of that energy into helping others in ways she did not receive, making her very hard working and driven in her work.


Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?


She worked as a school counselor for a while, before choosing to pursue psychiatry. That would be her only medical experience.

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?

Kaelia is a young looking lanky blonde girl with distinguishable freckles scattered all over her pale skin. She had big hazel puppy dog eyes and a strong British accent. Her presence lit up a room, with the ability to make almost anyone smile, especially children.




How does your character act around the hospital?


Kaelia is very friendly and patient, when she isn’t assisting one of her patients she will most likely be found helping out her co-workers in any way that she can.


Does your character function better on their own or with others?

Kaelia functions best with others, but can hold her own when she’s on her own flawlessly.
