Describe your activity on the server:
I am a part of Shrine Faction, so most of my activity revolves around that or playing with my other characters from time to time. On a good month I am guaranteed to log on at least once a day though more at the later times of the CST time-zone. Otherwise if I’m on a more busy schedule one week I would only log on 2-3 times a week. But I try not to be. I would give my activity a solid 6 on busier months, and a 9 on months I’m not often busy. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I tend to not be available unless informed of something important otherwise. I try to solidly keep up with the activities that I do such as Fashion Club, Photography Club, and Shrine Faction. I think I do good for the most part, I mean I haven’t got fired yet. The times I'm online vary, during school hours I'm usually on my Club-Lead character, College character, or Highschool characters. I usually dedicate an hour a day, sometimes more to my Shrine character, this is done like 3 times a week unless its a good month, then 4-5 times a week, mostly when its not school in-game. But overall, I log on everyday or nearly just to goof about on my other characters.

What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
I started SRP 5/19/23 but I’ve been roleplaying for far longer than that. I used to roleplay on various Roblox servers and the Lifeboat bedrock server back in like 2018-2022. Back then I primarily engaged in fantasy roleplay in a school atmosphere, it was fun, interesting, and kept tiny me engaged, though I wouldn't say I was really accurate about it. I joined my first SRP family not even a week after I joined SRP in 2023. This family helped me grow into the community far further than I was ever expecting. I was able to develop connections, meet more people around the server and expand my knowledge of family roleplay, crime roleplay, and student roleplay. During this time I took a dive into spending more time on SRP, just learning the ropes was enough to get me hooked. I was accepted into the Shrine Faction 5/17/24 and accepted into the Clubs Faction 6/25/24.
Since then I think my roleplay experiences have broadened. I do have experience with all sorts of roleplay, various leader-ship roleplays, work roleplay, criminal roleplay, family roleplay, and romance roleplay. In general I do prefer work roleplay or student-life roleplay, just basically being able to detail-roleplay at all is peak; which is one of the biggest reasons why I'm in Shrine Faction and wanting to apply for EMS faction. I do love writing too, so it's something I like practicing from time to time, whether its writing short stories or biographies for my characters. Club roleplay is one of the things I enjoy as well, both as Club-Lead and as a member which also dives more into actual student roleplay.
To go more in-depth, I often exceed certain limits of mine when trying to provide accuracy with detail-roleplaying. I started actively detail-roleplaying when I realized I could actually do so. Which was soon after I joined. At first it was merely cooking which admittedly I wasn't the best at doing outside of SRP. Regardless, I was inspired with the people I had observed overtime which obviously had spent way more time on SRP than me. They had encouraged my actions and I eventually got better upon learning more about the commands like using /it and /my. When I joined shrine my roleplay style developed into a more of authentic way of interacting with people; such as showing more emotion and depth within my characters, and of course tea making. As I spent more time on SRP I believe I had just begun to progress more with my experiences in roleplay. I had gotten more comfortable detail-roleplaying in classes; whether it was cooking fish, making a wooden car in workshop, performing makeovers, sewing clothes or just writing out an assignment. I believe I had shifted into an area where I was taking roleplaying more seriously at times, or at least, in a more in-depth way of describing actions.
What is your motivation for applying?
For about a year now I have been wanting to join EMS. Though I wasn’t sure whether to apply to become a doctor or psychiatrist. I also wasn’t too confident in my abilities of roleplay to even want to apply. But lately I have been wanting to broaden my SRP horizons and further develop myself into the community. I thought my best bet to succeed in such ways was to apply to become a psychiatrist, despite doctors being just as tempting to apply for. The main reason why I'm applying now after waiting a year is that I'm more confident in my roleplaying abilities and how to get around a faction. Psychiatrist in itself just seems interesting, especially since I know a thing or two about mental health disorders and psychology.
I also yearned for more roleplay scenarios to drag myself in whilst I wasn’t actively roleplaying being a super cool Priest and a frequently bullied Club-Leader. Which is part two on what's motivated me. From my understanding Psychiatrists in general get a lot of interaction whether its treating conditions, providing therapy of all sorts, or working amongst coworkers to provide their patient the best experience.
I also believe, though sounding nerdy now saying it. But it's worth mentioning I’m going to school to become a Firefighter Paramedic, I thought this would be one of the coolest ways to spread the knowledge I learn into the community and also a better way for me to absorb information whenever I’m not studying and just use the if I get accepted factor in learning more not only about SRP but the Medical Industry as a whole; as I understand EMS maintains the most accuracy as you can get in Minecraft. I think it would be a fun way for me to just unwind in an area that doesn't have too many consequences if you mess up. I enjoy SRP and IRL Medical aspects so I thought why wouldn't I enjoy this? So I am hoping if I get accepted to really sweat my way up to becoming a Paramedic eventually.
As mentioned earlier, one of my biggest reasons I'm applying is for the Detail-RP aspect of it. I enjoy it a lot and from my understanding this faction has a LOT of that included. As also stated in my experiences with roleplay I do take interest in actually helping people medical wise or even just going up to the Hospital every time I can to donate blood and get a cookie. It's nice to not only see everyone's different roleplay styles but interact with theirs as well.
Another reason not as important as the others is that my characters are often unintentionally good at listening to people and offering feedback, advice, and emotional support. I most of the time joke they'd be good at therapy, look where I am now! Also apps opened up and OOC was saying to apply for EMS so I just took the opportunity.
Which role are you applying for?
(Doctor or Psychiatrist)
Psychiatrist
What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
(This is to gauge at your current understanding of the faction prior to acceptance)
A Paramedic is a person trained to give emergency medical care to people who are injured or ill, typically in an emergency response situation outside of the hospital. Paramedic is a higher ranking of an EMT the rankings of EMT go EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic. Each has their own levels of training, a Paramedic can do everything a NREMR can do but an NREMR can’t do much of anything a Paramedic does. They are the most qualified and highest ranking of the group. They can perform AEMT skills plus: Needle thoracostomy, Cricothyromotomy, Intubation, PEEP, ECG interpretation, Manual defibrillation, Trans. ext pacing, High flow nasal cannula, administer extensive medication. So, in this case a Paramedic Trainee would be merely someone in advanced training to become a Paramedic. This usually often means they already have their Emergency Medical Technician license and are an Advanced EMT which is NRAEMT. An AEMT contains all skill levels of an EMT and EMR, plus *****glottic airways, IV/IO insertion, additional meds, and Waveform capnography. The Duty and Chief are higher ranking individuals with longer experience within the field both medically and in a leadership role, being responsible for overseeing daily operations. EMTS Roles and Responsibilities are broad, they are usually first on scene at times. They often aim for quality improvement, professional development, and patient advocacy. The EMT roles and responsibilities include equipment preparedness, emergency vehicle, operations, scene safety, patient assessment and treatment, lifting and moving, communication and documentation, patient advocacy, professional development, quality improvement, illness and injury prevention, and certification and licensure. Routine activities that EMS providers may face that are often considered high are transfer of patient care where the EMT must provide all necessary information for continuity of care, lifting and moving patients where the EMT must avoid injuring the patient during lifting and moving And finally, transportation; where occupants in the back of the ambulance are at high risk of injury in the event of a motor vehicle collision. EMS is apart of the larger public health system and prehospital care is meant to be integrated with the care delivered at the receiving hospital. Examples include; immunization clinics, prevention education, safety and wellness events, and public CPR training.

Doctors diagnose illnesses, treat injuries, and oversee general patient wellness with check-ups. This includes ordering tests, prescribing medicine and performing procedures. They often provide ongoing care and work hand and hand with other healthcare professionals. Some even have specialties in specific areas such as cardiology, dermatology, oncology, so on and so forth. The rankings are similar to psychiatrists. A Doctor Trainee works under the supervision of a higher-up as they are more of an intern, a qualified medical school graduate. A resident doctor is a fully licensed doctor who has graduated from medical school. An attending doctor is a fully licensed and board certified doctor who has fully completed their residency and is in charge of supervision. As a Clinical Lead is simply a senior healthcare professional, one who coordinates clinical teams and oversees patient care quality, they can implement the best practices, manage performance. A Clinical Lead is in charge over the entirety of the healthcare staff, providing expert clinical guidance.
Doctors often identify illnesses and conditions, this is typically through exams, history both family and past, and tests. Such as simple blood work and X-rays. Secondly, they provide treatment. This can be medications, performing surgeries, assisting patients in managing chronic conditions, or providing therapy. These doctors usually counsel patients on proper diet, exercise and hygiene known as preventative care. This is from what I know usually discussed during yearly check-ups or whenever it may be scheduled. Doctors form close yet professional relationships with their patients by documenting all patient encounters, treatments, and test results. In order to do this doctors often communicate with other doctors, grabbing intel from past shots or exams they may have had in the past. Such action is to keep them up to date with any new and sudden changes. This is something they often do, just simple collaborating. Furthermore, it is also done when referrals are given. Referrals are often needed with specific cases the doctor may not have access to handle which are typically given to Psychiatrists. These can often be severe or complex mental health conditions such as bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, and so on.

There are many specialists in Psychiatry but a psychiatrist is a medical doctor specializing in mental health, they also diagnose, treat, and prevent many emotional and behavioral disorders with medication and therapy alike. The roles simply below are like ranks. A Psychiatrist Trainee is someone going through Psychiatric training to eventually become a resident. This is usually received from what I know out of SRP by a licensed medical doctor completing a 4-year specialized training program after school. This will simply be working under supervision. They can create personalized treatment plans and recommend treatments for both physical and mental health atmospheres. A Clinical Lead for Psychiatry is similar to the Doctors lead, a broad amount of experience and dedication to the job, often a senior medical doctor who combines their usual work with leadership duties and supervising staff. Like the Doctors, they can develop protocols, oversee quality standards and ensure clinical practices are effective and up to standards.
As mentioned above Psychiatrists go hand and hand with average Doctor care. They often specialize in complex mental health conditions, treating them, diagnosing them, and preventing mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Followed by this they often conduct interviews, perform medical/psychological tests, review history, and use the DSM-5 to diagnose many conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD and so on. The DSM-5 means Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition. This is the standard classification of mental disorders and its often used by mental health professionals for diagnosis, treatment, and research. The DSM-5 provides detailed criteria, symptoms, and guidelines for diagnosing conditions. Upon any diagnosis Psychiatrists can develop plans to assist their patient in such which can include medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and other interventions. This can also include holistic care and more advanced treatments. Holistic care being considering the connection between the mental aspect and psychical health aspect and managing these complex cases and offering crisis intervention.

Now this information is just all I could gather and study out of SRP within the time I had available. Unfortunately I do not know too much about the overall aspect of working in the Hospital before applying which is why I am trying so hard to learn now. But I am a quick learner and always eager to do so. I advocate the idea that you can never stop learning and always take the chance to learn more. From a SRP perspective I don't think there's too much of a difference between OOC practices and IC practices just what you are and aren't allowed to do within a Minecraft view. From my time of my characters going to the Hospital I've witnessed a variety of things such as blood withdrawals, ear surgeries, knee surgeries, patient recovery, and on scene care. Most of these things were done by Doctors and Paramedics so I was able to further gather what it is like being in the Hospital Faction and their roles they may partake in. And I recently learned Psychiatrists are also trained in basic care incase a situation were to occur they can treat minor issues mainly what I see as abrasions and things that do not involve intense hospital care. I do understand some of the Doctors and Psychiatrists also have their own specialties though I'm not too sure if it goes hand to hand with the actual being in the faction and roleplaying it out but it is something I've noted and find interest in. I also learned that some things can be skiprp like severe injuries or something that can lead to recovery. Other than that, everything I do know is OOC Hospital Work and just from what I was able to study these past few days before applying.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are expected to attend or you will be punished?
Yes I acknowledge and accept this fact.

Character Backstory (Optional):
Monroe Calvert born in San Antonio, Texas. He is the sibling to one other younger brother. He grew up in the country-side and often believed all he would make of his life was being a farmer. He enjoyed it to certain extents, caring for animals, just tending to them warmed his otherwise stubborn heart. He was great with them, some may have even called him a animal whisperer. His favorite being the horses and cows, he viewed them as himself, a gentle giant. He'd often spend days in the club house he and his brother built themselves, often taught to work for what they got. He was homeschooled most of his life until Highschool, coming into a chaotic environment like that was uncalled for, but everyday for the past 14 years he was in a chaotic environment. But he treated such as just another challenge in his life, another sheep he had to herd despite the fact he didn't do much herding as his border collie Cowboy, gloriously stole that from him. During this time of deeper knowledge he learned more about the world outside of farm life. He drew an interest in Psychology, Pharmacology and Biology not far after. This was due to the many times he missed school for sleeping in, solely from being too tired from working. He'd be given detention to where the teachers would assign completely unrelated class topics to different students, whether they were actively studying it or not. Many of these topics Monroe had gotten used to receiving were about Biology Psychology, Pharmacology and Neurology. In many aspects he had already taken a liking to Biology and Neurology. Though not too keen on studying Neurology by itself. But Psychology and Pharmacology were different for him, something new to him, something, broad. He knew very well Psychology with animals, just from working on the farm, he always had to watch closely how the horses would behave. But this, this was different, this was challenging, interesting, it had caught his interest rather quickly. Often a vet for the farm animals would come visit and help Monroe on his Pharmacology just when he had the time, his name was Carmichael Burkhardt, he was an older man and had a profound knowledge in both Biology and Pharmacology. And soon enough Monroe had developed an even bigger interest in Pharmacology as well, though clearly not being sure what he wanted to do, he liked the animals but was too fearful to do any hands on tasks. Carmichael had often spent some days raising Monroe himself as Monroe's father was otherwise busy at times. The vet wanted to help the boy grow and be a strong gentleman so he had suggested Psychiatry as one of his options where during this time they were already switching things up such as the introduction of Generalized Anxiety Disorder in the APA manual. And Monroe had knew well enough about Psychiatry but never thought of himself smart enough to do such a thing. Regardless, he started studying such anyways. This has led him to where he is today in his structured yet still somehow chaotic life. As he got older, studied more, graduated school, completed his degrees, he yearned for a different atmosphere, so eventually, as he turned 50 he moved to Japan where he'd have the opportunity to broaden his horizons, in not only Japan's culture but the medical field as well.
SECTION 2: MEDICAL HISTORY
What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
(Ensure this is appropriate to the position you have chosen. Some examples can be found here)
Main Specialty: Forensic Psychiatry
Secondary areas: General Adult Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison, Neuropsychiatry
Monroe has always been interested in the criminal justice system. But the main thing that pushed him into it was justice in itself. Monroe understood a wide range of criminals were mentally ill in some way. There was often pity he faced at the realization, but for some he knew they wouldn’t get the help they needed whilst being incarcerated. Also simply being that Monroe found this the most interesting, psychological problems associated with criminal behavior? the most intriguing thing he learned whilst in school. He simply decided to seek it further out.
Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Yes. Monroe has over 20 years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist, including hospital work, private practice, and forensic evaluations. Before entering medical school, he also worked as a basic EMT, gaining hands-on experience in emergency response, patient stabilization, and crisis situations. He spent roughly half of his life in America as a psychiatrist before relocating for the greater good to work in Japan, eventually moving to Karakura to continue his work. This was to broaden his horizons with bigger opportunities and to further challenge himself. This did perceive to be a challenge as before he officially moved to Japan he was to learn Japanese first, he eventually ended succeeding but still has many problems with pronunciation. He was well-loved at his previous job in Texas and even Japan, he was like a father-figure to most and even a teacher to the newest Psychiatrists. Once he officially moved to Japan he spent 5 years in Kyoto to where he eventually came to the conclusion that he wanted somewhere different, quieter, but just as challenging. Somewhere where he could officially call home and eventually retire in, so he chose Karakura.
SECTION 3: CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
Monroe is an older man, light blue eyes, and graying dark-brown hair. Perceived by others he can be intimidating due to his overall bluntness. He is a huge father figure, to children, adults, people that aren’t even related to him. He’s a man of slight mystery, never one to talk about his past, just the present. In some ways he can be stubborn but he gets along with people rather easily, he’s more of a laidback individual. A heartfelt person despite not looking like it. Monroe can also be protective of his family, friends, and colleagues, he’s a professional at being passive-aggressive due to such. His Japanese is iffy in more of a way of pronunciation with some words that being his words are often stained with a Texan accent. He doesn’t bother for looks but he is more of a classical guy, he always opts for comfort over style, unless it's to be respectful that is. He has confidence rooted in his experience with a strong, adaptable mindset. Monroe is a people pleaser and due to the fact he doesn’t care much to separate his job from his day to day life he can be a lot when it comes to talking to someone, always unintentionally giving them therapy, life-advice or even accidentally diagnosing someone in the process. He’s gotten better though, with lots of scolding from his closest peers and higher-ups. Monroe is also the type to store information about someone, not for harm, or usage against them but just because he is the type that savors memory and knowledge over anything else. Tell him about a toy car you wanted when you were 6? He'll get it for you. Oh wait that was last year? He will still get it for you. He doesn't care much for money or expenses, so often buys for others, again, he's... too old.. to care..
How does your character act around the hospital?
He’s always watching, ensuring everything is going according to hospital standards. He can be a bit much, always putting work ahead of his social life. Though he makes designated days to take breaks, relax, and tend to his own mental health. If he is not actively working he’s actively ensuring others don’t need assistance in any way, he appears calm, but in reality his mind is always moving. He has a habit of keeping himself busy in any way, shape, or form. Despite being serious about his work he doesn’t often push to separate work life with his day to day unless it comes to patient confidentiality. When it’s his co-workers he views them as family, something to protect and support in any way possible. He enjoys teaching people and offering help to others whilst also pushing the fact they learn it on their own as well. Monroe is an expert at keeping calm under pressure, he also encourages others to do the same and often won’t hesitate to step in just in case. Monroe can also appear a bit apathetic but he doesn’t mean to, if he’s called out on it he switches it quickly, it’s just something he doesn’t really notice as he tries to keep his neutrality when dealing with patients. This means he tries not to overreact by not appearing too concerned or sad. But this is a rare instance that occurs, and mostly right after a session. He is a gullible man, if he was asked to do someone's work for them he wouldn't ask too many questions given the right person. But this doesn't mean he wouldn't turn it into a learning experience for that person. Yes, though oblivious he still strives to teach and learn.
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Both. As long as he is getting work done he doesn’t really care. He’s a people pleaser though so it won’t affect him too much. Much of his qualities is duality when approaching any atmosphere. Due to his pleasing nature he does tend to ensure everyone is comfortable in the situation. Whether it's patients or his colleagues. He respects and understands someone's perspective, even when he doesn’t likely agree with it. He is also just likely too old to care. He's a simple man just living through life, he doesn't have time for beef or such nonsense the kids get into these days. Monroe has a big heart, he doesn't mind being with someone or being alone. Either way it wouldn't affect his work. I would also care to mention like above he strives to teach and learn himself so whenever given the chance he enjoys unraveling someone's brain.
